  1. When I live it's very difficult to get a lot of good deals on Lego. Most local stores are not large enough to have a large stock so most of the times they don't have many old sets to put on clearance or offer with great discounts. So I often gave a look online but if the shop is in another country the shipping costs increase nullify the discount. I usually buy from Lego shop but we know they don't make a lot of discounts Anyway sometimes I find a single old set in some small shop with a good discount. I found a couple of LOTR/The Hobbit sets at interesting prices
  2. It is indeed a great little set. I wish I had the chance to get it. Once I saw it on clearance on Amazon. By the time I was back to my computer it was not longer in stock. I truly hope to get something like this set in the next Castle theme
  3. I want to share my "two cents" on the fact certain characters may never see the Lego form because they are too "dark". I understand Lego makes toys and so they must keep certain "plot contents" away from their franchising but they actually make sets from the Star Wars universe, which is about Galaxy-wide wars and destruction and one of its main characters (who we have seen in several Minifigures versions) made things than would make certain Marvel villains to shake in their boots. Like I said, just my two cents
  4. The "Marvel vs Jar Jar Binks" Saga continues "Drive this!" The Clumsy Creature claims to be a "Bombad driver" and so Captain America "gives" a vehicle... and Jar Jar won't like it I had a couple of other images (including a Hulkbuster vs Jar Jar one) but I hadn't the chance to do a proper editing (adding dialogues etc) so I'll post next time EDIT: I managed to post another image (I'll post the Hulkbuster one soon) "Hulking Friend" Sometimes being a Super Hero means to help other persons in their daily activities and if it involves "inflicting" lol some suffering on the Clumsy Creature every is happier, including the Hulk
  5. The other day on a TV channel of my country there was a documentary about that period of Japan's history and it reminded me of this wonderful MOC
  6. The drawback of those blister packs ( the Castle Knights are still available on Lego Shop here in Europe) is the cost nearly as much as a licensed battle pack but they don't have the "vehicle-equivalent" of them. So they are quite expensive for what you get. However, like you said, they give us four Minfigures from the same faction, which is a very good thing
  7. I gave a look and in my country (I live in Italy) there are certain pieces listed as "sold out" (Sinestro hairpiece, Wonder Woman headpiece, for example) while most of the others are indeed in stock
  8. Impressive That's a massive collection. I look forward to see the rest of your army: 950 Minfigures are epic
  9. I checked the "pick a brick" section of Lego shop and I saw no trace of them. Should they be available through a different service or only to certain countries? Thank you
  10. Exactly Unless you plan to join some competition (where obviously will have it's own rules) set your imagination free and build your own "Brick Universe"
  11. Their camouflage armor is impressive. I really like it and, of course, there is always some room for more troopers
  12. I agree. The chances to get GL in another small set are very low. I strongly suggest to buy the current set. It's not expensive and it's a very cool one. A must have for all Lego DC fans, in my opinion
  13. You never have too many troopers After all our Galaxy-wide "brick operations" require a lot of troopers Are you planning to build a large Kashyyyk army? For awhile I bought only Kashyyyk Troopers Battle Packs ( I have 20 of them) then I started to find my building activities too much repetitive and so I moved to other projects. I'm still building my Clone Army, though
  14. That's sound a good idea. Like I said don't worry too much about "conventions" (like the beards one ) It's your army, it's a little universe you build with your bricks and it does not have to be identical to other fantasy universes, not necessarily
  15. Do you realize I'm not who built the army lol? Namely I'm not the best one to provide details on the army Or in his Fantasy Universe dwarves don't wear beard or not every dwarf wears them After all when we create our stories we don't have to be bound to what other did before us. Our universe, our rules
  16. Sorry, I was talking about the AT-AP That's what happens when you are super tired but you keep typing lol I agree about the Minfigiures and honestly droids can't even be considered "full" Minifigures. When I bought the AT-AP (now spelled correctly lol) I had a lot of Kashyyyk of troopers so it was a logical choice. It was a better set than I expected. I'll put the AT-DP on my "to buy list" for sure. The Minifigures are indeed interesting and an additional walker would hurt, after all. Thank you for the info EDIT: Typos corrected, because I made them again, not the AT-AP though lol.
  17. Good point about the helmet Personally I wouldn't spend a lot of money in beard pieces and I'd prefer the other accessories. It's just me of course but every time I notice with the final cost of a fully customized army I can buy a lot of sets, I always choose the sets. Mostly because I find more exciting to have different projects rather then assembling Minfigure after Minfigure. Like I said, it's just my person preference
  18. I'm taking note of all those info on the hairpieces. They can be very useful. I never thought I would have paid attention to the "mini dolls" sets. Never say never, it seems
  19. From an "army builder" point of view I'm aware it may be not easy to acquire the beards for the whole army
  20. Thank you very much for the very detailed info. I knew there would have been a stability issue. It's inevitable after all The high number of additional pieces may be a problem for me since I'm quite low on them right now and I don't want to dismantle other sets for them. Once I build something I always try to not disassemble it, just a personal preference. Thank you again for the info and keep up the great work
  21. To be honest I never used it until few days ago It's a site where people share links to interesting things ( divvied in categories and there is a Lego category) then other people vote them and according to popularity those links should get some notice. I just joined because a couple of friends kept saying it is a good way to share our Lego hobby, get some feedback etc and so I thought "why not" I found your project interesting and so I shared it EDIT: Just a quick question Did you simply assemble the towers one over the other or did you have to make some modification to increase stability etc? I'm very interested in upgrading my tower so any info would help me a lot. Thank you
  22. Indeed I just realized how large my lack of knowledge on those themes is
  23. Impressive So impressive I had to share it on Reddit. I hope it is ok for you, I gave you credit of course Congratulations for your project
  24. I guess with Natasha you are not referring to Agent Romanov lol Just a little "super hero based" joked I have no knowledge about the Mini dolls themes. I found very interesting the fact we can actually find useful pieces in those sets. I'll give a look at those who can have something useful, without spending a lot of money on theme since there are other Lego priorities
  25. Thank you for the info What made me, let's say, I little doubtful was the comparison I made with the AT-PT which is one of the most interesting of the currently available walkers (it also has a very good price per piece ) However the more I look at the AT-PD the more I have the desire to add to my collection so I guess I'll put on the "to buy" list
