  1. I managed to make another Marvel vs Jar Jar image. I planned three of them but I had very frantic days. More will be posted soon "He Never misses" What happens when you put an apple on Jar Jar's head and ask Hawkeye to hit the target? Of course he does not miss and I'm sure we all know which is the target I don't have a proper Lego arrow so I had to use what was available
  2. Do you plan to use them in some historic/Fantasy setting or just using their parts for some MOC? I heard they come with very interesting parts, especially their joints
  3. More women characters (especially in Minifigure form) would be a wonderful addition to our DC collections, so I hope to see more DC women in future sets Talking about the introducing someone to the DC Universe matter, I'd like just to point out how the DC Universe may not very "suitable" to the youngest ones. Nearly all comics have a 12+ or above rating (I'm using the European rating so I guess it's T in the USA) so the whole franchising is more oriented towards "older" users. Just my two cents
  4. They could increase the presence of female characters without using the "mini-doll" format. Just the "old fashioned" beloved Minifigures. In that case I would indeed approve
  5. Minidolls in the Super Heroes themes... Quoting Yoda: "The shroud of the Dark Side has fallen" lol
  6. I have the The Goblin King Battle and it's a nice set. In addition to the Minifigures it provides a decent scenery, if you are interested in such thing of course I missed most of the Middle Earth sets ( I was away from the Lego hobby when most of they were released) but at least I have acquired several of them, Orthanc included
  7. Well most of the times, especially around the internet, notoriety creates credibility Anyway my personal policy on these things is to just wait and see what happen . I may be wrong since I haven't read every single post here but I think sometimes BrickJagger feels like he is no believed/trusted and so he takes things "personal" (just to quote the word used ) Once again I may be wrong, be it's a sort of "other persons post rumors and they are trusted without a cross examination but I'm not". Those persons though are quite famous and have "leaked" rumors for a very long time so they acquired a certain degree of trust among their readers/viewers. With the abundance of info spread across the web about any possible matter, it's obvious persons don't trust a source without a lot of proofs. I understand why both "parties" feel like they felt in their previous posts. One "side" and the "other". I'm not joining the "quarrel" lol, like I said since I have no info myself I'll wait and see what happens regarding the Castle theme
  8. That's still impressive I'm sure your Lego cavalry makes a very nice Castle army
  9. Hey Super Fish Oil, I was not trying to argue with your points about the marketing behind those sets. I was actually making a joke on the abundance of Batman I was not justifying myself, lol, I was trying to make sure I was not arguing with you or complaining too much about those sets. It started like a joke but it turned out to be a quite interesting discussion about "marketing" I understand what you are saying about Star Wars. It is indeed a proven brand with 30+ years of activity and billions of dollars in royalties ( If I remember correctly I once read since 1977 only with royalties Star Wars made something like 27 billion dollars!) but since the beginning they had no fear in making toys (I'm talking mostly about the old action figures) about the less famous characters and that policy proved very successful Of course to the movies get more attentions than the comics. Even though, I have to admit, I often found the DC movies disappointing compared with the Comics (while I have to say the contrary regarding Marvel) However it's undeniable the "average user" ( I mean someone who have a mild occasional interest in the DC universe) finds more iconic the movie versions and of course "average users" are the majority. However, and that was the point I probably didn't make clear myself, I think if the would risk a little bit with different concepts, they could truly get a vast success even with sets which are less, let's say, "mainstream". There is a huge potential in the DC universe and I do believe even with less "mainstream" set they could rely increase sales, if they do things right Sometimes it seems they put Batman in most sets just a "protection measure". Batman is iconic so we know people will buy at least one of those sets. My point was "if they would risk a little bit they could have even more success" I wish I had the time to talk even more in details about this matter. Like I said it started with a my joke of the "abundance of Batman" but it turned out to be a quite interesting conversation
  10. Well, "Yes and no". I explain You mentioned the cinematic universe and from that point of view I agree with you but most of Lego DC sets are not based on movies but on comics and the list of iconic features from the DC multiverse included much more than Batman. For example the centre of the whole DC multiverse is Superman. Everything affecting the DC multiverse on a large scale often, if not always, involves Superman. The "specialist" versions of a given character are actually more interesting for collectors than kids. Beside the inclusion of an "iconic" characters is not the only reason of a set success. It's well known the case of never seen before characters who became best sellers. Let's not forget it is said Bionicle saved Lego during the crisis. Anyway, personally I was not complaining. I bought all the 2015 DC sets and if I found the "Batman-centric" thing a problem I wouldn't I think pairing Aquaman with the Bat-submarine is actually a good idea, since it is actually a scene from the New 52 ( it's part of the Justice League "Throne of Atlantis" collection) The problem, just a little one, is Batman tends to steal the scene to characters who are supposed to be the "star" of the set (Gorilla Grodd goes Bananas, set it one of them). The presence of "specialist" versions of a character does not conflict with the "they are making a Clone Army of him" argument. There are a lot of specialist Clone Troopers after all Talking about Star Wars, it's obvious the most "iconic" characters appears more frequently (even though it's not always the case. See Palplatine, for example) but none of them is present in 3 out 5 sets from a single wave. I agree with you on the fact the Star Wars universe's vastness offer a great potential. It's a whole Galaxy, after all. But DC comics cover a multiverse! It's even vaster. It's not just Gotham like you said. They make sets not just from the movies. You may say the "multiverse" is not well known by the "standard consumer" but, honestly, a well made set will sell even if it features something unknown or even knew. Sometimes it attracts even more interest However, like I said, I was not complaining or saying Lego did it wrong. I really like the DC sets and Batman's presence, or over-presence, didn't ruin my interest in those sets
  11. I guess it is was the will of Force lol Btw very funny photos. You even found a way to represent the famous "Golden Gun". Of course who would rescue Jar Jar? Once the lady has been saved we ca let Jar Jar burn lol It's more "for fun" than actual hate. Of course I, and many Star Wars fans I suppose, find Jar Jar a little annoying sometimes
  12. Impressive. Do you have also an equal number of horses? It would make a great Castle army
  13. The Jedi Defender Cruiser is a very nice set. You found Palpatine arrest set! I heard it's quite rare. Happy Building, then
  14. Three more Jar Jar photos from the Marvel vs Clumsy Creature Saga. I think I'll make about 5 others photos before moving to another universe vs Jar Jar series "You disturb my Vision" Jar Jar Supervillain career is an epic fail. This time is Vision to teach him a lesson "Brain Scan" The search for the fable Jar Jar Brain continues as Tony uses his tech to analyze the Clumsy Creature. However the Jar Jar Brain is difficult to find "Code 0-8-4JB" When the Clumsy Creature appeared in the Marvel universe the S.H.I.E.L.D. had a personal classification for him Feedback and comments always appreciated More Jar Jar photos are on their way EDIT: Typo corrected.
  15. Well if someone does not find the DC universe attractive enough to buy the set I doubt an additional Batman would. Just my two cents, of course
  16. A lot of people like Yoda or R2D2 but they don't put them in every Star Wars set. Just saying. Of course they can't please everyone when they design sets EDIT: Typo corrected.
  17. Most Lego DC sets are Batman-focused even when they shouldn't. Black Manta set, Gorilla Grodd one etc. Lego designers really love Batman, it seems
  18. It isn't the first time a nice set gets negative reviews. When I look for reviews I always look at those with a lot of detailed images, so I can decide myself if I like the set or not I know Aquaman Minfigure is always a bit "problematic", every version of him. I heard many Lego fans saying "Lego can't make him right". He is not totally bad, though. Anyway, enjoy your new set and Happy Building
  19. Indeed. Crisis touches even multibillionaires and the DC universes saw many "Crises"
  20. Thanks. I missed all the Star Wars Pirates sets ( I was away from the hobby at that time) and so I didn't recognize them at first
  21. That should be the worst world in all the DC multiverse if their Superman is Jar Jar lol. It's a universe where Lex is actually the hero if he fights again him Note to DC authors: this is one of the first universes you have to destroy during Convergence That's quite embarrassing, for Batman of course. Well I think it's the price for having invaded nearly every DC set lol
  22. I built the Avenger tower (standard model, for now. I'll think about some modification once I find the place where I could store a two-three times higher tower) and I'm wondering whether to put the "Avenger Logo" sticker on it or not. Of course the Logo is required for a movie-accurate recreation of the tower but it will those nice transparent blue parts. It's a hard decision
  23. It would be a very good way to announce a most relevant theme like a new Castle one. Let's hope we'll get some info and most importantly a new Castle theme next year
  24. Impressive, most impressive Its style reminds me of the Lizardmen from Warhammer. Which headpieces did you use? I recognize the Galaxy Squad Alien bodies, the Anacondrai helmets, the Dewbacks but right know I can't remember about the headpieces. Anyway congratulations again for your amazing army
  25. I made two "Hulkbuster fighting scenes" ( 3 photos each) and the first features a "blast from the past"; from 2006. "Hulkbuster vs Bionicle Duracell Bad Guy" Certain Bionicle figures are truly overbearing. Bullying every Minifiugure they meet just because they are bigger. But as they say "there is always a bigger fish"... or figure in this case "Hulkbuster vs Sentinel" An all Marvel scene and I think many Lego fans put those two one against the other Feedback, comments and opinions are always appreciated
