Hey, I wish it was printed as well as being less expensive, but I have come to expect this sort of stuff especially after the Disney buyout. It retails at $45 here. For my purposes, (producing an accurate model), this set includes several things which are very useful for that. Otherwise I would not be as forgiving for what this set really is.

Why are people complaining about the stickers on this set? It would be ideal for the flag pieces to be printed on both sides, but that doesn't appear to be a likely prospect. More stickers are required to accurately portray the outer designs on each each wing foil. I am pleased by the inclusion of stickers to emulate the greebling under the foils and the angles of the red designs on each wing. The kill tallies on each side of the cockpit are a nice touch. It is a toy, for 200 pieces you can't expect scale-model level detail and the sturdiness required to be kid-proof. The situation of the astromech is actually pretty accurate as well, the only issue is hat on the cockpit facing side, the rim of the socket is 1 plate too shallow. R2 and R4's shoulders are clearly visible in flight. Personally I am satisfied. I'm not expecting a model but a toy, and that's what this is. However there are several nice inclusions - as I said the stickers, Obi-Wan's headset print to couple with Anakin's from 75038, these are all things that I personally am really happy to be able to get, to include on a moc. Of course there are negatives but these are the same negatives that accompany almost all sets.

I'm digging this new ankle. Am I right in saying that the ankle moves by just sliding the foot through?

I was going to suggest exactly this until I scrolled down and saw your post. the AT-RT driver is one of the few clone types that haven't been produced by Lego yet, along with cdr Bacara, the phase 1 clone pilots, and maybe some others I'm forgetting. This is a perfect opportunity for it to appear, finally. I'll be disappointed if we get repeats of the figures from earlier Kashyyyk sets and nothing interesting. Also hoping for a non-cartoony Quinlan Vos and Luminara Unduli. Some new wookiee variants would be great too. I hope the set isn't padded with unnecessary and unwanted battle droids

Here's my rebelscum profile, which is where I've been conducting most of my active research. I've only made a handful of posts and everything there is directly related to this pilots business. http://forum.rebelscum.com/users/52807/ :) Ah, no worries. This is disappointing. The only reason why I could imagine there being another Mace would be inclusion of dual moulded legs to simulate Jedi boots. Though I'm biased since I already have him from ROTS with Palpatines Arrest. I really wish that Star Wars minifigs had dual moulded legs, considering that knee high boots seem to be the universal choic of footwear in the galaxy. C-3PO's dodgy right leg printing is the perfect example of this problem, the cut off leg prints are a bit of an eyesore.

Don't worry, I've seen your photos. In fact that kind of inspired me to do a similar thing. The only problem is that 75032 torsos are hard to come by in a proper quantity on bricklink. Was it you who bought 25 of them ?
-
The good news is that it's pretty easy to make minifig replicas for both of them, now that we have a proper X-wing suit torso and legs from 75032, and Luke's training helmet in 75081. This is also the helmet that Karie Neth and Dorovio Bold wear in the battle of endor. At the moment I'm working on reproducing all of the Rebel Alliance pilots, including them. While I've been doing it, I noticed that Lego often includes obscure reproductions of various things from the films in sets. Habeer Zignean in the Snowspeeder micro fighter for example.

Also, it's shown that a BB unit can enter the socket from the belly, like the N-1 starfighter.

It kind of does make sense though. Han and Ackbar (Han less so) were appropriate for 75003 in the sense that Lego doesn't seem to do star wars sets anymore that include one or no figures. There's no astromech in an A-wing so I happily accepted it, cheap Ackbar and updated Han. It's similar with 9495 and 75050. A yavin celebration set will never be released, so I was happy to get ahold of Leia in that costume. I also doubt a millenium falcon will be produced from the battle of endor. I was really happy that one of the gray squadron pilots were included with the B-wing, actually. It kind of makes sense, from a certain point of view

Cheers man . Are you in melb? Spotted several TFA sets at a kid stuff. Microfighter for 20 bucks battlepacks for 30, lol. I guess it's ok that it won't be March until they're available -
Wedge is easily manufactured from existing parts though he could do with an updated helmet. (Why do the prints get cut off before the brim of the helmet?) The thing with Janson is that he didn't have a helmet print until this set.

Never mind, found it. It looks like the set will just include what's shown in the ad. Base wall with bits attached to it on the inside, shield generator, shuttle bus, ion cannon, trench defences, speeder bike, imperial cannon, likely 1 or 2 snowspeeders, 1 or 2 tauntauns and the Wampa cave. That's what I made out. I think that, judging by the number of visible little pieces used to emulate the snow, that would cover in excess of 2000 pieces easily. Here's some photos.

"Battle damaged" Stormtrooper transformation
atlas replied to La Chupacabra's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Loving this thread. I had planned to do the exact same thing. It's good to see that the damage near the (vocabulator?) mouth doesn't overlap with his mouth, it's just adjacent to it. So, with precision, it's possible to restore these to stock condition. At least the helmets. I don't mind the little grey scoring on some parts of the armour, it's barely noticeable. Those blotches and big scratches are definitely going to get wiped though -
Does anyone have hires images of the little animated movie things of 75098 assault on hoth? I want to know if we're getting Janson and his helmet

Baffled as to why this and/or variants aren't used. http://img.bricklink.com/PL/3626cpb0664.jpg I've had to replace the heads on all of my AT-AT drivers and tie pilots because they come with the angry clone. Annoying.

Damn son that is sleek. I've been playing around with a similar sort of fuselage.

Is it likely to release on 4/5/16?

Yeah. I feel like we'll be lucky to get a handful of those. -

Jakku Village (Lor San Tekka) and Niima Outpost seem to be being forgotten. We don't have Unkar or LST yet. -

Thanks for the news. I'm sure this set will be quite nice, but at the same time I wish we were t getting another repeat. Still no UCS A-wing, proper minifig scale/UCS AT-AT any of the rebel ships except the corvette, etc.
