  1. Maybe because this is not related to R1 disney aren't chasing people around?
  2. I agree. But as bad as the decision to have tan tunics for the rebels minifigs, I like that they used dark grey there because in the show he's depicted several years before episode 4, and has less light gray and white hair. Just like how in clone wars hi hairy is pretty brown. Makes sense.
  3. inb4 no printing on the back for some reason
  4. Looks really nice, I really admire that you stuck to a very "system" building style while still managing to achieve a really accurate look. It looks very strong. I respect that.
  5. Wow, I can't believe I never realised that can can stack the binocular piece. also I of course forgot to say that the new version looks outstanding. Everything just looks right.
  6. can't wait for designer video lol Err, we have some err nice new stickers here, the new Death Star will be available in the shop for $1000 next week! Exciting!
  7. Thanks everyone. I'm ashamed to admit that the armour edge thingies around the cockpit are just attached with blu tack at the moment. I tried many other possibilities but with the parts available it wasn't possible to get them in the right place and angle and have them stay put. I did sort of get them like that with 100% lego, but they were just floating there (like the cockpit in the UCS b wing but 10x less stable), so I just opted to get in over with and stick them on for the time being. I hope to revisit this problem when I finish up with the other 3 that I have in progress. It's just a stop gap so I can tell myself to be done with it for now. About the parabola dish vs. brick built idea, that's funny because until about 1 hour before I shot the photos I had it like that, but due to the fact that my engines are too far apart, it looked less like the source material than the way it ended up in the pictures. It'd personal preference though of course (:
  8. I don't speculate, I think it's pretty scummy. And I'm disappointed with this set only because it shows that Lego is getting comfortable with the enormous profits they're raking in and advancement in the actual content of what they're selling has ground to a halt. It's even worse because this seems only to be a problem with the star wars line. Comments made about the other themes and minifgure details etc. are very valid. I don't understand why c-3po in a cheap polybag has the most body printing of any Star Wars minifig ever and the same character in a later set doesn't for example.
  9. This is my version of sydag's wonderful delta-7 model (which you should view here www.flickr.com/photos/sydag/sets/7215765181084275), which also incorporates elements of legorevolution's model (www.flickr.com/photos/legorevolution/albums/7215762721077...). Originally I just built legorevolution's eta-2 as per the instructions, but a while later i found sydag's version of the ship, which blew me further away. I ended up having a cockpit module from legorevolution and the wings from sydag's. But I did this before he produced his instructions and also showed his lovely series of fighters, so parts of the wings were not exactly the same to begin with. For a while I was satisfied and they began collecting dust while I did other things. I can't remember exactly when but in the second half of last year I picked it up again and started putting together obi-wan's red interceptor from the same battle, and the blue one that goes to Utapau. I fiddled with these for a while, but because I didn't have all of the parts I needed for obi-wan's ships, this one was the template for the rest. I basically finished it then, but without sticker details. This weekend I sat down and put those on, and here we have it. I'm quite proud of this one, although it's definitely too big. But that's alright with me because I felt that the movie ships themselves were unrealistically small anyway. So here you have it. Large chunks of this have remained untouched from the source material (in lego), but there are several areas, including the back wing sections, the bottom, and most of the cockpit which I have rearranged to suit my personal preferences. Enjoy ! You can view the rest of photos in the album (www.flickr.com/photos/48109771@N05/sets/72157671270667370). 10. Hi, would you mind posting a pic of the pilot? Thanks
  11. I would be happy with more TCW sets but only if they stop using that god awful art style and depict them like in 75087 or the rebels sets
  12. I'm not sure to be honest
  13. Yes, the minifig from 75032 is theron nett (red 10 at yavin) The really cool thing Ifound is that if you combine the astromech head head from that set and the body from the advent calendar astromech tree, you get R2-X2, his astromech and one of the ones in the background in the film ! I love it when this sort of detail is included, I just wish it was more common
  14. Oh, my goodness. Imagine, amedda, yoda and palps, and couple of shock troopers. No shortage of play features to be had either. Would be great
  15. Very nice. All,of the little details are magnificent. The only thing that really took me out of the scene is the not-palpatine, but of course that's totally understandable. One nitpick for an excellent diorama. The micro ships are really well done also
  16. Me too. You can imagine some marketing person sitting in a meeting and saying how they can't put yoda and palpatine in a cheap set. It must be at least $150 !
  17. Looks good, I'm I'm a similar position. I built Larry lars' model about 18 months ago, and about 2 months ago did a bit of tweaking. One thing I will say is that you have some great reference, where do you find this kind of stuff? That plan view with measurements is great.
  18. Thanks, you're right this is almost exactly spot on
  19. I agree to an extent, though of course this is just another situation where a CMF Star Wars line should happen. Which hairpiece would go with medical frigate leia?
  20. Looking even better somehow. I think I might have to build this one
  21. This is what I have done for my burnt Vader. he has the original torso and head, but I removed the legs and put 2 stacks of 2 1x1 round plates (I think 3 are black) to make it look like he got chopped just above the knee. I plan on replacing the black right hand with a metallic one also.
  22. Unfortunately there aren't any astromech parts that remotely resemble a pink droid. You would have to apply a custom design
  23. The last clone wars set was 75046 in 2014. But in 2015 strangely, there was a set form the 2003 clone wars cartoon 75087. Personally I wouldn't mind some one off type sets from the show but adapted to the film style aesthetic
  24. I think everyone knows that but it doesn't make the artificial scarcity of it any less ridiculous
