I have a question that I would really like answered if possible. Does anyone know what is going on with the availability of the new Lego sets in australia? Only the AAT, gunship and the skyhopper are on sale anywhere. I'm worried . . . -
I just remembered, FBTB have some pretty great comprehensive photos here http://www.fbtb.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=11123

There was a big imgur album posted a couple of pages back, it has pretty good views of the advent pieces. Though I think you could get a better look by just searching it.

Final Duel: This rendition of Luke is pretty fantastic. palpy looks to be identical to the book version (I have it), but a completely new face print is very welcome. It looks as if well have 4 different expressions for him, which for me personally is awesome news. Vader looks to be all new not including the leg print and the cape. I know the new helm isn't perfect, but in my view it's pretty much as good as you could have made it considering what they were going after. For me, the most impressive element of him is the face: they captured the facial damage particularly well on the back, and somehow they managed to create a face print that a) look accurate in terms of colouring, b) looks like Sebastian shaw, c) also looks like their recent PT anakin face prints, and d) has those glorious bushy eyebrows too. I want to give the graphic designer for that face a hug. Also worthy of note is confirmation that the whole set folds up à la the Battle of Endor playset. Tydirium: Highlight if this for me is the figs, though I think they captured the Shuttle pretty well in system scale. To me, it doesn't come close to the incredible 10212 UCS, but I'm biased as. I just bought that set an am extremely excited to finally have it. I'm glad that we finally have a proper Endor cast. For some strange reason I find myself preferring the old school Chewie, there's something slightly cartoony about the new version that I can't put my finger on. New Rebel commandos are also fantastic but it's a shame that they sacrifice compatibility with the old versions for more accurate prints and colours. Overall the set is pretty good, it'll be interesting to see the inside. Despite the fact that it's an enormous improvement ovet the previous system scale versions it'll never be able to rival the UCS version, which is a both a shame and a good thing at the same time, I think. N-1: Very meh design, these things must be absurdly popular with kids for them to produce a 5th (6th?) version. The gimmicks included are obvious efforts to inflate the price, but at the same time I'm glad that we have some closure with regard to complete and accurate episode 1 figs. Obi-Wan seems to be the standout even though he was in the MTT, but again I'm biased because I wanted that fig, however ~15 bucks was too much. I'll probably end up getting this for two reasons, the first being the surprisingly good range of stickers that will be extremely useful for decorating an N-1 moc, and also the range of pieces that will serve the same purpose. Flash speeder: I haven't paid attention to the design of this vehicle but it looks good. The figures are outstanding, but the speeder itself looks like it's too fat and the back is very ugly. Look like it will be a great parts back for a flash speeder moc though, and the great Nubian figs are a bonus. Cruiser: Absolute stinker, none of the figs appeal to me (again, biased because I don't collect rebels stuff) except that hot little astromech. "A fine addition to my collection"! I might get it if it goes on sale because it looks like an excellent parts pack. It's also good to see that the 2x2 mini TIE dish prints will grow in circulation. The action figures are absolutely horrendous, they don't even look like LEGO. The advent calendar is an solutelt stand out to me though. Everything looks great, we get a jawa and an ewok which is fantastic, plus the delicious OT stormies, plus an absolutely incredible new Hoth rebel. That last fig seems to be a pretty solid indication of a UCS hoth playset, which has me very excited, though I am slightly worried that it might be just a rumour. Sith infiltrator has me intrigued also. The UCS TIE looks great for what they had in mind, but that's a horrendous price. Hopefully it sells badly and I'll be able to find one heavily discounted. The new pilot is amazing, but it pisses me off that they put such a nice helmet _and_ arm printing in the set to attract more sales! especially considering the fact that we've had a relatively high amount of pilots in the last few waves. Oh well Bricklink will just absorb more of my money then I suppose. All in all I think it's pretty good, some standouts and some absolute stinkers. I'm excited to get a look at the TFA sets.

I noticed that as well, is that going to be a permanent thing? When will the other sets be available?

Several different AT-AT minifig scale mods have been made in Lego, cavegod's or Rocky's comes to mind. You can have a look by just googling 'cavegod at at', to get an idea. -

It depends what you want to build. I try to build most things in minifig scale (roughly 3 studs = 1 metre), but for enormous things like an ISD I'd just build it in any size that looks nice. I should also add that building in minifigure scale comes with the advantage of having official lego pieces made specifically for whatever you're making at your disposal. -
Moustache looks way to think to be used for lando. And it's a mono-stache, Lando's is split

There's something far more interesting in this pic. One pigeon hole to the right of the probe droid is the UCS TIE fighter set. That canopy looks intriguing.

Best one yet. Please keep making these, they're great

Just realised something regarding the 75094 final duel set. The flat section with the alternating tiles appears to have two of those long 1 x 8 plate with door rail pieces on the side, and the female modified bricks sit underneath the bottom of the staircase. You can just see them poking out along the trim of the base. It looks like the set is designed to both expand and fold up, similar to the base from the 8038 play set, just with an extending piece.

I'm very relieved to see that this is going to be a flap-up Luke. All in all, I think its a pretty good set. I'm impressed at the attempt on the windows to the tower that seem to be printed. Do we have any idea of a part count?

That helmet is seen in Echo base if my memory serves me. I am pretty sure it's a named character too, but I forget. It was mentioned here a couple of weeks ago. -

So much NPU in this. I think my favourite part is the zam wessell head for a surgeon. That's ingenious.- 14 replies

This is an absolutely incredible, creation, well done. You've captured the essence of it very well. Now I've got some inspiration to try and finish my own version of an obscure Star Wars vehicle. (at-ap) -
The 75055 stormies are far and away the best of the lot. Also: how can I attach images? It isn't letting me.

Better view perhaps: http://i.imgur.com/p0Lhdhx.png (sorry, can't figure out how to embed or attach this)

No one seems to have mentioned this anywhere, but I can't be the only one. The star of this set for me is the new 6x6 tie windshield dish piece. Now we can finally have a proper tie cockpit. 9492 was good but far too bulbous, and 8017 just wasn't the right part at all. The minifigs are a bonus especially that officer and the inquisitor, but yet again we have another rendition of the TIE pilot. I know it's meant to be the cartoon version, but I have several pilot figures and all of them are distinctly different despite the fact that they're meant to portray the same thing. It's a bit mildly infuriating.

Also, the astromech head that came with the microfighter is made to be joined with the R2-XT set from the advent calendar. Together they form the green astromech you see next to R2 in the pilot assembly room. -

The UCS set is pretty clearly a rendition of Cloud City Boba. All of the figures are included to create the carbonite loading shot and even the box art has cloud city all over it. The only explanation for the engine exhaust colours I can think of is that it was cheaper to do the blue plastic. -
agreed! edit: though I think we can also all agree that this set is going to require a fair amount of touching up as well. I suppose there's only so much you can do with 2000 pieces.

All we saw was his consumption by the Sarlaac. That's it. If people think that Fett managing to fight his way out of that is unrealistic, bear in mind that Maul is still alive after having his bottom half amputated and falling down a massive pit. And that's first level canon. anyway he could be dead, but it is unlikely from a canon point of view especially out of universe.
