LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

Like my poor Kit Fisto and Plo Koon, though thankfully they're only missing a little bit of print but it's still annoying. The rubber mayerial itself also doesn't hild up well over time, it gets a little grainy, I hate it. The more LEGO can stay away from rubber parts, the better. -

Agreed, I love Marvel's supernatural stuff so the more the merrier! I'm especially excited for Werewolf-By-Night, Moon Knight and Mr. Knight but if Agatha has the Darkhold then I have to have her too! -

I was already thinking how cool it would be if they made a mech set for Moff Gideon given his Dark Trooper armor in S3. It'd be a super cheap and accessible way to get him. Pair it with a Din Djarrin mech and you have the makings of an affordable, fun face-off. Or better yet, make it a smaller IG-12 with Grogu piloting it and include Din on the side with a blaster. A plain Clone Trooper mech just like the Stormtrooper would be pretty great but I don't see how they could make it look all that much different without making it a specific legion. I don't know, these mechs have some neat potential and are just fun but we need more like the Boba Fett mech and fewer like the Darth Vader mech. -

Got and built the Brachiosaurus Discovery set this morning and I absolutely love it! I still wish the Brachiosaurus at least had moveable back legs to pose it up on its back legs but the new molds are fantastic and it's so huge! I was happy to see the body piece and neck were a bit heftier than I expected. I feared they would be super hollow but they're not. My only major complaint with it is all the ugly mold marks all over the poor thing. Lego has been really bad with those since they started changing plastics but it's especially egregious on an otherwise smooth figure. The Jeep is pretty perfect and super solid. I love that it can hold 4 figures too. The tree build is actually really nice and I really do appreciate how they were able to get 2 important movie scenes out of the same set. The figures are also great, so nice to have John Hammond in the collection. I still wish Alan Grant had the new Indiana Jones hair/hat combo but maybe the designers of this wave didn't know about it at the time. I'm sure he'll reuse that piece in the future though. Overall, fantastic set, easily my 2nd favorite Jurassic set right after the Ankylosaurus vs Indominus Rex. -

I'm very glad to see the R2 in Yoda’s Starfighter has back printing. I was hoping it would. The set is still really over-priced but I can't deny how much I love the improvements to the design, especially the shaping around the sides. I also really appreciate that the wings will stop in the right position. The Swamp Speeder looks better and better. The advent calendar is definitely the best we've had in years imho. Absolutely getting it. I love the figure selection, I'm happy to see a STAP again and I like the Christmas Pit Droid. Also, while the reindeer GNK is neat, I can't be the only one who is sick to death of GNK droids. The meme has long overstayed its welcome. Yavin 4 looks much better than I initially thought but it's still low on my list sonce I'm a way bigger prequel/Clone Wars era fan. -

That might be one of the best advent calendars in a long time. Definitely getting it. Yoda’s Interceptor is a huge improvement and I actually really want it. Help me. The swamp speeder looks better than I initially thought but wow is Vaughn lazy. Torso is fine but he really needed a unique helmet print. Still getting it though, great to get a bunch of 332nd troops. -

I might eventually get the Tenoo set on deep discount. The new molds and prints are nice and I don't know if we'll get anything else High Republic related anytime soon. Also, I've watched the show a bunch with my toddler and he absolutely loves it. -

A couple more observations: I really wish they had at least given Gobby Boba Fett's shoulder cape in purple. I love that they gave the new Ninjago lightning pieces to Electro, they really went all out on that figure. While it's nice that Ned and MJ are here, I would have WAY rather they included the Lizard instead. He is a glaring omission here and I can't believe after all this time we STILL do not have a single Lizard in this theme. -

The batmobile and batwibg both look fantastic. Such perfect little sets that I can't believe we're actually getting them. Will definitely get the batmobile and maybe the bateing too if I can fit it in the budget but Star Wars and the Spider-man NWH final battle take precedence. -

Ok, I love the NWH set! I do wish GG got leg print8ng and a hood, also that pumpkin bomb needed printing. Do ock looks great, the Spider-men look great, Electro looks great, the build looks great, love the new clear curved action stand piece, overall very happy eith how this turned out! Absolutely a must buy. The Endgame set is a pleasant surprise and looks quite good but I'm not going to get it. -

Because then it would at least not be the exact same Yoda we got in the last Yoda’s Starfighter. Ideally he should get tan and olive green dual molded short legs since it's not like he ever wore shoes. -

I honestly don't see us getting one anytime soon unless she shows up in live action. She almost had a live action abc sitcom but it never got off the ground. -

Having seen a direct comparison between the old Yoda's starfighter and the new one, the new one is significantly better. Who am I kidding, I'm a sucker for Jedi Starfighters and Interceptors so I'm going to get it eventually, it's just not high on the list. Had they thrown in a 3rd figure to sweeten the deal, especially someone new like Sifo Dyas or Darth Bane or even a random jedi we haven't had before would have been great. Imagine they threw in Yadle or Yarrel Poof. The least they could have done was give Yoda the dual-molded short legs that they gave the Lucasfilm fountain set and/or include R2 with the printing on the back(maybe it does and we just can't see it). -

That eggman mech set is fantastic! The Tail's plane and workshop set is still my favorite set but this one is a close 2nd. -

The 332nd bp is the only one of these I'm going to eventually get but even then I can't believe it's $25. That Swamp Speeder is small and not very good and theres a tiny turret thing made of like 4 pieces. How can they justify charging that much for this!? Yoda’s Starfighter has improved shaping around the cockpit but isn't different enough for me to consider it since I have the last one. If they included an additional figure or something maybe I would have considered it. Yavin 4 just looks bad and for $160? Yeah, absolutely not. -

I know there are a lot of people who are angry and hating on these mechs but I can't help but laugh at how silly they are. I'm going to have to get the Boba Fett one. I will say they are all weirdly chunky. They absolutely did not need to be $16, they easily could have been $10 and shaved down the piece count. -

Just2good has a review up of the Brachiosaurus set. I can't wait for this one. The Brachiosaurus could have used more articulation but I reall like the the overall design. The Jeep looks grwat and the tree looks good for what it is. Definitely a day 1 purchase. -

I really like these sets overall! I'm definitely getting Z-Blob the Robot. I really, really like Mrs. Castillo's Turtle Van, Flying Pegasus and Mr. Oz's Spacebus.

The set looks really good and has me very excited for the rest of the theme. This really feels like a breath of fresh air for a new LEGO theme and the possibilities are endless. That's really the smartest thing about a theme built around dreams and the fantastic: you could literally come up with anything to put into the theme and it will fit. A lot of big bang themes have suffered from having a really weak 2nd or 3rd wave because all of the best parts of the idea for the theme come out in the initial wave. With this, there's no creative corner to get forced into because the premise is so open-ended. Heck, they could even use this as a way to include sets inspired by past beloved LEGO themes in an almost meta sort of way. Or even if they don't go that route, the possibilities are just endless and I imagine as a set designer, that has to be very exciting and fun.

I can't pass up 5x points. I actually really like the Justifier and the Andor set but the prices on them were just waaay too high. At least LEGO realizes that and made it more enticing to pick them up. I'll hit up my local LEGO store on Tuesday. I don't know if I'll be able to swing the Justifier but I can at least grab the Andor set. -
Sonic the Hedgehog - Rumours and Discussion
Toa Palpo replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Licensed
The sets are really great for what they are. This is what the Mario theme should have been. I think my favorite set officially revealed is Tail's plane and workshop. I've always gone for the smart, tech guys who make all the gadgets for the heroes(like my favorite Transformer Wheeljack). I'll probably get that unless the Death Egg Robot comes with Sonic, Tails and Robotnik which I think it will. I doubt we're getting Knuckles in wave 1. They're probably saving him, Shadow, Metal Sonic, and maybe even Big the Cat for wave 2. -
I've been burn too many times. I'd absolutely be ecstatic if this was true but I won't put any stock into it until promobricks or 1414falconfan confirm it. My initial guess would be a line of sets similar to the GWP which would be great maybe even create a few new molds for masks and weapons. My 2nd guess would be something minifig-based using a system similar to the Hero Factory minifigs. I'm 100% down with either one or both. Regardless, it's not going to be ccbs or technic figures again. That time has passed and people need to accept that.

Well it's hardly LEGO's fault when they can only go by what Lucasfilm gives them which is usually early concept art and a few meager descriptions. Weirdly enough, I don't feel like there was much about this season that was very spoilery, certainly not very many big reveals or surprising cameos so it's strange to have sets that are so average. I think we'll definitely get a nice spoiler set based on the finale with a bunch of really nice looking figures but there really isn't much else that should hace been held back for spoilers. The Ahsoka sets definitely sound incredibly exciting and more than make up for it and there's still one left that we don't have any details on. As it is, it's going to be rough just trying to afford the Ahsoka sets and the Republic Gunship but I'll get them all eventually. Heck, I still need to get the AT-TE before it retires.
