  1. Nope. The fact that they created a special weapons pack like they've done for Ninjago, Monkie Kid, and Star Wars with the Clone Trooper accessories, (and I believe the new bow piece that can shoot arrows was really created for LotR) all but confirms we're getting playsets.
  2. I'd love it if they brought back the MoS Kryptonian armor and helmet molds for Zod. I love those pieces.
  3. It looks good for what it is and works for Giant Man, especially with the Wasp microfig attached to it, but I cannot believe that this is the only set we're apparently getting based on this film. A film that features Antman, Wasp, Stature, Kang, MODOK and more, with tons of set and minifig potential... Maybe we’ll get another set in the future but that seems really unlikey considering the past 2 Antman films only got 1 set each.
  4. The reveal of this set and the return of this theme on the whole has had me on a LotR kick lately. I really, really hope we get waves of regular retail sets. While I have nothing to base this on, I still believe the new bow piece that fires arrows from one of the Avatar 2 sets was actually designed for new LotR sets. My favorite scene of the films is the Ents' attack on Isengard. My ideal set would be a "March of the Ents" set for like $80 featuring a brick-built Treebeard using mixel ball joints and maybe give him a geared right arm similar to the original from the Tower of Orthanc but obviously with a way more accurate design, throw in a brick-built Quickbeam too. The lighter color scheme and smooth, twisted design is a nice contrast to Treebeard, plus the tripod legs are a unique look and I'd say he's the 2nd most recognizable Ent in the Two Towers. Give him a catapult left arm function to throw LEGO rocks, just like the film and include some scaffolding and mining equipment and a small damn build and some pieces to represent water that can easily be knocked down by the Ents and include some fire pieces and grappling hooks for the Orcs to fight back with. For minifigs, Merry and Pippin are mandatory and throw in at least 3 Orcs, one with a sword and 2 with the new bow piece that fires trans-orange arrows to represent flaming arrows. Sorry for wishlisting but I just had to get this set idea out there!
  5. Uh, no? There's already 2 awesome sounding Mandalorian sets and a Jabba's Palace diorama that we know about and that's just May. We're guaranteed to get sets for Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew and there's a strong possibility for more Book of Boba Fett sets, Andor sets, Bad Batch season 2 sets, Jedi Survivor sets--- and that's not even touching the movies or the Clone Wars anniversary stuff. The point is, LEGO Marvel is dropping the ball despite having a plethora of content to base sets on. For some absurd reason they are averse to making sets based on the Disney+ shows unlike the Star Wars team who has been doing pretty darn well in that regard.
  6. Lego is really saving me money on Marvel this coming wave so I can spend it on Star Wars instead. Only having a buildable figure for Antman 3, especially considering the movie features Kabg and MODOK is downright mind-boggling bordering on maddening. The rest of this wave outside of the very exciting NWH set, really make me wonder what on Earth the Lego Marvel team is thinking. They started the year quite strong and it's immediately going off a cliff.
  7. Oh I definitely think we'll get a bunch of regular retail sets at some point. The fact that they made so many new very lotr specific molds is evidence to me that this is going to be more than just a couple of expensive d2cs and a few brickheads.
  8. This looks absolutely stunning. Incredible building techniques, so many great minifigs, so many great new pieces... man I really, REALLY hope we're getting some standard retail sets at some point soon. This and the rumored Tower of Orthanc are just too massive and over-priced. Honestly, 2 of the things I want most are a Treebeard set and a Balrog set. Both would have to be large brick-built creatures and considering how much LEGO loves making mechs and mech-like builds, would fit perfectly in the $60-$80 range.
  9. So I built the Yellow Tusk Elephant set Thursday and I absolutely love it! It's a wonderful build, it's much more solid and weighty than I expected and I love the functions. I find myself compulsively flipping his trunk up in the air, such a fun feature! Plus, the whole set gives me very strong Elephander vibes and that warms my heart. I was a huge Zoids fan back in the day and Elephander was always my favorite so now I have a soft spot for elephant mechs. That said, based on the stickers that make it look like it has fur, I don't think this is truly intended to be a mech. Either it's a larger form YTE can turn into or it's a giant elephant that he has tamed. My money is on the former. Edit: just reread the product description were it explicitly states it's another form he takes. *facepalm* it makes it even stranger that they put a throne on his back so his minifig form can ride on his own back... Having built the set and seeing his appearance is season 4, YTE definitely should have been a bigfig. The little "mech" build in the set is definitely just meant to be his actual body and I have a feeling he was originally going to be a bigfig and it later got changed so they included this small mech instead. There has been a lot of talk about there not being bigfigs the past couple of years and I think this set(and by extension this theme considering we have not gotten a bigfig Sandy for quite awhile)has the strongest proof that bigfigs may be no more. I hope I'm wrong though, I love bigfigs and want to see so many more in the future.
  10. I instantly dismissed all of those leak sets as fake because they are all too good to be true but if promobricks is backing this up.... wow! Very exciting stuff, I absolutely want the X-Mansion!
  11. The Starlord mask looks great but $10 more than the Star Wars helmets and it's completely hollow, is LEGO insane!?! There's absolutely no way I would ever buy this at retail price, $70 is already absurd for the Star Wars helmets and they're at least complete helmets with mostly solid cores.
  12. I'd be 100% down with generic Batman sets that allow for random character inclusions that don't directly tie into anything. GIVE ME KINGSHARK! Although, I am worried the age of bigfigs are over and he really needs to be a bigfig. I'd also love a new Nightwing with dual-molded legs and arm printing.
  13. Adam Warlock looks great, I'm shocked he's actually getting leg printing since LEGO loves to skip out on that with Marvel. I assume he'll also get a cape that isn't shown here.
  14. Oh what I wouldn't give to get some sets and other products based on that original series! Roron Corobb, Dirge, armored Jedi Master Saesee Tinn-- and to say nothing of all the cool droids and vehicles that never got reinvented for the canon Clone Wars series.
  15. I 100% agree with this! Especially considering LEGO values the promo set at $16.99, they very easily could sell a line of these for each of the original Toa. Include some new molds for system-compatable masks and maybe new weapon pieces and prints, maybe rework the torso slightly for small gear mechanisms and bump the price to $20, or eliminate the stands and sell the Matoran on their own and make the Toa $15 sets --there's a ton of potential here and LEGO wouldn't be taking a big risk, especially if they stick to a handful of $15-$20 sets to start and see how those do.
  16. Wow, those are some of if not the best helmet sets LEGO has ever produced! Cody especially is impressive. I would absolutely love to get both of these but as always, minifig-scale srts that come with minifigs take precedent and there are still sets from last year I still haven't been able to get, let alone many of the new sets and my wallet is already crying about what few sets we know about for the rest of the year.
  17. Yeah, definitely a bad move on their part. I also get a sickening feeling that if the gwp doesn't sell out immediately, it'll be used as another excuse by some as to why Bionicle "doesn't deserve more attention" or "doesn't sell anymore".
  18. So Duckbricks received an update directly from LEGO regarding what purchases qualify to get the Bionicle gwp and unfortunately the original leak was correct. It is restricted to 7 non-licensed themes. I had originally planned for that and made 2 different order options just in case that changed but I definitely have a lot more licensed sets I would have rather selected. On the bright side, it might make it easier to get the gwp.
  19. I highly doubt they would do that, it would be the same mold as they've used before or a new mold that's similar.
  20. I really like what we got but not gonna lie, the prototypes for what we might have gotten are intriguing and I probably would have preferred getting the full original Toa team as miniature builds like they showed. The designers probably shouldn't have shown us what could have been but I'm glad they did. Also, according to people who LEGO sent the gwp to early for review , there were no theme restrictions mentioned so hopefully that's the case because that would be so much better.
  21. It looks great, I just really wish it wasn't a gwp so that as many Bionicle fans as possible could gwt their hands on it. As it is, I don't know if I'm going to have the extra $100 to spend on LEGO this month, let alone on non-licensed themes and I'm certain this set will be very expensive on the aftermarket...
  22. I knew he would be but I'm very glad to get confirmation on that. I bet if we get him again, he'll be black instead of blue and will reuse the same head molds. I could also see them either downsizing him to make him cheaper or making him even bigger for accuracy since he's only an adolescent Tulkun in TWoW.
  23. I agree, Antman would be perfect for a mech set.
  24. MODOK and Kang's time chair I think could fit easily into a $30 set.
  25. I 100% agree with this and hopefully this will be the case. Personally, I just want the Ironbelly and I want it to be done well as the primary build of a set rather than be a compromised side build in service to a larger structure.
