Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Toa Palpo replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
As much as I want that, given the price tag, I wouldn't count on it unfortunately. Although it would make the piece count make more sense but after the Hoopty and the X-Jet I think that's out the window. -
Wow, the space cmf series looks incredible! My favorites are definitely Orion, the Ice Planet homage, mutated Blacktron, and insectoid alien. I'll definitely have to bricklink them after release since LEGO insists on the horrendous boxes...

Man, I really love that X-Jet. I love how it makes such great use out of that specialized Speed Champions piece, not just around yhe fuselage but the bottom wings too. $85 is absurd though. I know I won't be able tocget it right away but when I do, I'm definitely using some points to drop that price down. I do wish the figure selection was more interesting. I do not like that look for Magneto but I have the original ones so it's not a big deal. It's great to get Rogue but I would have loved to get Nightcrawler or Colossus. That War Machine mech might well be the best one they've ever done in this style ---and I say this as a die-hard Ghost Rider fan who loves the mech and bike set. Nothing else is worth mentioning imo. -

The War Machine mech looks good, I might pick it up. I've always liked War Machine better than Iron Man The X-Jet looks fantastic! Phenomenal update to the original set! The price still sucks but at least it seems pretty sizeable and the the shape is perfect. I'm absolutely going to get it. -

Rocket's Warbird looks decent but without any other figures to entice me, I don't see myself getting it. The Sandman set is fantastic--- except for one major flaw: why on Earth did they not give Lizard digigrade legs!?! Seriously LEGO, you had ONE JOB. I absolutely hate how underutilized that leg piece is and this was the perfectly opportunity to use it, but nope.... *sigh* I guess I should be grateful they at least gave him a tail and leg printing. The faceprint is pretty rough though. I really love how the Sandman build came out, really smart idea to basically make it half of an action figure set and I love that they also gave it the nice rounded base and scaffolding so it can match the final battle set in a display. -

I could not possibly care less about Fortnite and I don't know how many of those will become physical figures but I see a TON of potential for amazing minifig accessories. The plague doctor mask with the tricorn hat alone has my mouth watering for it's Bloodborne moc potential! All the knights helmets are fantastic too. -

I think it's fine for what it is and it's great to get the master emerald with what looks like a new piece for the main body of it. I'll definitely be getting it but mostly for the minifigs and the master emerald. -

I'm so glad I have the old Ronan. Do we know what set this new, lesser version is supposed to be coming in? I haven't commented yet on Rogue. She looks great, it's just too bad LEGO is horrendous when it comes to print opacity. It's one of those things that is just downright inexcusable. It's not that they aren't capable of doing a better job, they're just being cheap at the cost of their "premium" product looking cheap. It's honestly why I hardly ever complain about stickers on sets since stickers at least have an appropriate level of oppacity /rant over -

Personally, I don't mind if we have a MCU-lite year LEGO-wise. Hopefully it allows them to get more creative with comic-inspired sets or MCU adjacent sets. As unlikely as it is to happen anytime soon, I very badly want a bigfig Man-Thing and the only way I realistically see that happening is probably a generic comic-inspired set rather than anything MCU related, especially after his Halloween special had to be postponed due to the strikes. The new Hulk body is perfect for him, all it needs is the whole thing to be molded in olive green including the "pants" part, a new molded head and a couple of leaf pieces attached to the studs on his back. A guy can dream... At least we're finally getting X-Men sets again. -
I love the Bowser car set! I've been really wanting a Bowser but I didn't want to pay ridiculous prices for it. I really like his car and it's a great build. For $30 it's an insta-buy! I really wish the Yoshi set came with one in at least one new color. Pink and yellow are so over-done. Blue would have been nice but for $10 it's still a neat little set and it's about time we got a Yoshi egg.

Wow, I really hope that Headhunter rumor is true. I missed out on the first one and I've wanted Bly and his star corps troops for so long! Man, next year is already shaping up to be incredible. So many desireable figures and builds and most of them are cheap and affordable. Seriously good strategy LEGO, keep it up please! -

Yeah it's going to have to come with the UCS X-Wing pilot Luke to be worth it imo. I assume it will have the same lightsaber piece the Vader mech has but in blue which would be nice to get admittedly. -

Wow, these sets sound fantastic! I can't believe the Venator Rex will be in a $13 microfighter of all things. I expected a full-sized Clone Wars Y-Wing. Personally I would have preferred that since I missed out on the original Clone Wars Y-Wing but I won't look a gift horse in the mouth! The Mando bp sounds good, I still haven't gotten the TIE Interceptor vs Mandalorian Starfighter set so I don't mind the reuse here. Finally getting Koska Reeves is great but I would have rather had her and the fleet commander come in a different set so that the bp could have just army builder characters. I wish it had one more beskar stormtrooper and a Praetorian guard instead but still sounds like a great set regardless. The Mando bunker is an interesting set. I wouldn't have expected them to basically make a set of Paz's death scene but hey, here we are. I have the Mando forge so I'm indifferent to the Paz reuse. The real stars of the set are beskar Gideon and the Praetorian guards. Hopefully the build of the bunker makes for a nice display like the Luke and Dark Trooper set from season 2. -

Sweat a baby dino battle pack haha. It's nice to get so many little dinos in one set and new variants of Darius and Sammy is great. I'm glad to see more Camp Cretateous representation because that gives me hope we might eventually get an adult Bumpy and wild Ben! The adult Ankylosaurus mold is just too awesome to be relegated to just one set from 2019, although that is my favorite Jurassic World set of all time. -

I freakin' love the Shadow set, easy insta-buy. I love that edgehog and the motorcycle is a great little build. The Rhino bot is a neat little build too. -

Most of the figures are just okay but oh my that Vision is phenomenal! I really like the new Hulk too, so glad we are getting ine with a moveable head and a giant hair piece to fit the bigfigs. Hopefully this is just the beginning and maybe we'll start seeing bigfigs other than Thanos again. I can't tell but maybe he even has a double-sided head. Also, while it's neat that Fiege was included, it's a bit frustrating that we still don't have an official Stan Lee. Frankly, he absolutely should have been included in the Daily Bugle instead of one of the d-list non-superhero staff members I can't even be bothered to remember the names of. The set is way out of my price range but it's certainly a fantastic set and I'm happy for those who can afford it. Maybe I'll bricklink that Vision at some point. -
Wishlist: Future Star Wars Sets and Minifigures
Toa Palpo replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It really is a shame that we don't seem to be getting more Bad Batch sets for that very reason. I would have thought for sure we'd get a $35 V-Wing if nothing else. A Clone Commando bp would be incredible. Like everyone else, I'm excited by the leaks of desirable anniversary figures. There are several that I would personally love to see, though the likelihood of them varies -Roron Corobb(probably a longshot but I love the Tartakovski Clone Wars and he had such a memorable scene. Plus, I love Ithorians and he's my favorite Jedi) -Starkiller(I have the original but a new one would be fantastic. If we're getting Darth Malak, then I think Starkiller has a decent chance) -Dirge(one of the coolest Bounty Hunters, also from the Tartakovski Clone Wars but has recently been enjoying a canonical return via the comics) -Cal Kestis(I think this one has the highest chance. They know there's a high demand for stuff from the Jedi games and if Darth Malak is on the table, I think a more recent and just as popular game has a chance) -Saw Garerra(he's loooong overdue and also highly requested and has appeared in so many Star Wars projects that it's starting to get ridiculous that we don't have a figure of him yet) -Scorch(or another Clone Commando. Not only does it count for the Republic Commando game but it would represent the Bad Batch as well.) -Cobb Vanth(complete with Boba Fett's damaged armor. This is definitely another figure most people want and is surprising we still haven't gotten. Seriously, a $20 set of Cobb Vanth and his speeder made from Anakin's podracer would sell incredibly well!) -Black Krrsantan(while I would much rather get a proper Book of Boba Fett set based on the finale with Boba's Rancor vs. a Scorponek Droid with Boba, Cad Bane, Krrsantan and some Pykes, we at least need Krrsantan somewhere and he also represents the comics since that's where he came from originally.) -

Dang it! I was really hoping Fives was in the Invisible Hand. I have little interest in the Tantive IV hallway diorama. Guess I'll end up getting him on bricklink... -

Technically, he is on the front of the box because that's Tony falling on the side of the building with the drone thing above him just like in the Avengers after he gets chucked out the window. -

Man, this all sounds too good to be true, so no offense to the leakers but I'm taking it with a grain of salt until we see some leaked product photos. Fives would be fantastic, Malak sounds great even if he comes in the $100 R2. My wife collects most of the $100 droids and characters so I'll get her R2 and keep the Malak figure as she doesn't have any interest in the character. The midiscale Leviathan sounds fantastic and even more enticing if it comes with Fives or a different collectable figure as I assume it will if the $100 R2 does. If they're willing to throw in Darth Malak and Fives as collectible figures in theses sets, I'm incredibly excited to see who else they're willing to include! I'll avoid speculation here but I definitely have some in mind that I would love to see. -

Oh jeez, I got my goat-legged mythological creatures mixed up! I'll blame it on the fact I was tired when I posted that haha Also, I honestly care a lot less about which green they use for lizard than I do about his legs. I'll be incredibly disappointed if he doesn't get the digigrade legs. -

It makes sense for Lizard to have the T-Rex figure tail from the cmf but it also better have the digigrade legs from the capricorn cmf that don't get used nearly enough.
