  1. I am hoping the same thing too. I might have to get a whole box of S13 figures before it's too late... If that's any indication, I hope S15 is good enough, similarly to S13, where I would consider buying the whole box.
  2. Wow. They're very shockingly similar. However, I enjoy the parts and the toy micro-builds in the updated set. I might have to get it as my first Winter Village set.
  3. I have the completed S5, S6, S9, S11, S12, and S13 and a nearly-completed S7, S8, and S10. I only have the Kimono Girl from S4 and none from S1 through S3. I have a few Simpsons figures, but I only got them for parts and don't consider them as part of my collection.
  4. I also don't see a City series coming to fruition, mainly because these series always have a touch of fantasy that would be lost if it only had figures that we see in everyday life. That and most fantasy figures nowadays are flesh toned because they're under a license...
  5. This stuff is sounds totally cool, to be honest. I've always been interested in Steampunk-type builds that are a step above Castle sets technologically. I can't wait to see what they look like! A few years back, I took one look at the Castle 2013 stuff and passed on it because it was so expected. This upcoming Nexo Knights feels unexpected, and actually seems to be more like an Action/Adventure theme then a purist Castle theme that most people seem to be hoping for. This is interesting info... So we'll get the spinners or whatever they are along with the minifigures and weapons sets? Doesn't sound too bad to me, and if the figures or parts turn out nice, I may buy a few. Otherwise I'll probably stick to buying the regular sets.
  6. I was just referring to the fact that it's a large plastic sheet, which is a first for CMF. I wonder if you can feel it easily through the packaging...
  7. Let's see... 1) Movie Director 2) Lobster Suit Guy 3) Space Medic 4) Gangster Girl 5) Blacksmith 6) Satyr 7) Basketball Player 8) Dark/Evil Alien (think Alien vs Predator or the like) 9) Pioneer Woman 10) Australian Outback Guy (with a boomerang) 11) Sea Witch 12) Dragon Tamer 13) Sultan 14) Postal Worker 15) Hippie Girl 16) Bandito (with a black sombrero) I also really want an Ocean Warrior akin to my avatar, but I also want a Sea Witch and I doubt they would show up in the same series.
  8. Excellent review as always, WhiteFang. I quite like the packaging. I also like the directions for the textiles, even if it feels a bit arbitrary to have them after having skirts and capes for so long. This series looks like it'll be a breeze to feel for with all of its unique parts. Looks like there's 6 torsos with back print, and 8 have dual-colored arms or arm printing. Not bad. I also noticed that the Wolf Guy, Wacky Witch, Plant Monster and Banshee all have printing on the necks of their torsos. I wonder the significance... Despite the scimitar, I love the Zombie Pirate. I plan on giving him a set of black epaulettes, a plume for his hat, and a new sword. The head under the Monster Scientist's headpiece is superb! Definitely getting two Fly Monsters, because I'm on the fence about the claw hand. Then I can have one with two claws and one with regular figure hands. It's pretty crazy they actually put in a plastic cape for the Spider Lady, as the assembly seems very large for a CMF bag. But I know anything is possible since Medusa's snake tail has come to being.
  9. Thanks for the info CM4Sci! Somehow I feel the 2016, 2017, and 2018 aren't supposed to be there. It would be quite a shame if they only released 1 CMF series a year, even if it does give my wallet some reprieve, or gives me opportunities to buy from other themes. After two themed series, I hope we get a diverse mix of themes for Series 15. I know I'm not supposed to list my wishes, but in general I hope to see more figures tied to the MMO worlds as well as a music performer. With Series 14: Monsters being released soon, I also wonder if they'll have a monster or some other creature in Series 15...
  10. My favorite is the Fly Monster for sure. I'll be getting a few of him as soon as I can find some in stores! Part if me wants to believe this is a one-off series because of its release date, in hopes we'll get a more diverse-themed Series 15. But the fact it is part of the numbered series means that we could see more themes like Monsters in the future.
  11. Those stories are great! The only one who's actually not a monster is the Skeleton Guy... And he's pretending! The renders, however, bring up more questions... Is the Monster Scientist's flask opaque or translucent? What about the Spider Lady's cape (Also, is it two parts)? Looks like the Fly Monster has trans-brown wings. Excellent! The green hairs are a great detail. The Wolf Guy, Wacky Witch, Zombie Pirate, and Monster Scientist have the dual-color mold legs. Also excellent! I must also say - I feel this series is successful because none of them actually feel like duds. I had my doubts about the Spectre at first, but now I feel he strikes the Casper The Friendly Ghost notes just right without being a rip-off. I've also come around on the Monster Rocker, though I still don't like that guitar mold.
  12. To be fair, at least most of the rehashes in this series come with a new mold or something else that makes them drastically different compared to what they rehashed. It's just an inevitable reality in CMF, ever since we got the Surfer Girl and Street Skater in Series 4. Those were more blatant rehashes IMO. The Plant Monster seems incongruous to me because it's constrained to the minifigure silhouette of head-torso-legs, and doesn't have the luxury of being a brick-built figure like the Scooby-Doo plant. I'm thinking a little imagination goes a long way - the lime green and the printing on the torso and legs is meant to be part of the plant itself, while the darker green is just the background color. That way it can get away with using minifigure parts (but not really).
  13. Steampunk, Greek/Roman Mythology, a new Wild West theme, a new Space theme... I'd also like to see a non-LOTR style fantasy theme with elves and dwarves... Kind of like Elder Scrolls in the sense that there's a large number of races. Maybe a Mage theme with multiple kinds of spellcasters (Wizards, Sorcerers, Necromancers, Elementalists, Illusionists, Shamans)? I just hope there are more new themes that aren't licensed. I'm someone who prefers my human figures to be yellow as opposed to flesh tones... I like the idea of new animals. I also want new musical instruments :P
  14. Also pretty sure the Zombie Pirate Captain's sword is the same as the Goblin's from Series 13. The hilt shape gives it away. I guess I would have hoped for a different sword, but he still looks great regardless. I'm excited to get that beard in a new color.
  15. I am 90% sure that this new werewolf head mold does not cover the back of the torso like the MF werewolf's head does, and that's a significant change. It's kind of hard to tell from that angle, so I may be wrong.
  16. OMG! I'm impressed at the amount of details and accessories these characters have! Well done LEGO! My favorites are the Fly Monster, Tiger Girl (love the whip) and the Gargoyle, as well as the Skeleton's bucket! I'm also quite liking the Zombie Pirate Captain. I'll probably gonna get two Flies so I can get one with both of those awesome red claws! Also totally called the usage of the fairy wings. They don't look too bad here. Is it just me, or do the Specter and Banshee look like they're smaller than the rest of the figs? Maybe because of their ghost-leg pieces. Also, they're GitD!
  17. Meh. Did it have to be a zombified version the Series 1 Skater? To clarify, I wouldn't have minded him so much if he had a different outfit/hairstyle like the Cheerleader, Businessman or Pirate Captain. But it's the same hair, same clothes, same skateboard. The epitome of laziness, if you ask me. But he his kind of charming. I still might get the book regardless.
  18. Falconer Gender: Female Headgear: Dino Tracker and Genie Girl Hair in black with dark red hair tie Facial Expression: confident, smug Torso: tan-colored medieval-style tunic; tan OR yellow upper arms and reddish brown forearms with reddish brown hands to distinguish as long gloves. (though falconers typically have only one glove on, I opted for 2 so that people could use the arms for other purposes if they wanted) Legs: dark brown fur pants Accessory: falcon (new mold), can be either in a resting position or with wings spread out
  19. WhiteFang's review for Series 11 (Released in September 2013) was released to the public on July 31st. His review for Series 12 (Released October 2014) was released to the public on August 31st. So, I would say within the next month or so, we'll be getting his review for Series 14... Since sources have been saying either September or October as the release month. I don't think it's totally ridiculous, since LEGO has been compensating us for the increased prices. For example, we now have prints on then reverse sides of heads, the backs of torsos, on the arms, and on the sides of the legs. Also don't forget dual-colored arms and legs, as well. None of those were really around in Series 1-2, so I feel that Lego has come a long ways in providing a detailed product for the price. If those details weren't there, however,. then I would agree with you.
  20. This is amazing! I really like the overall color scheme. My favorite part is the entryway into the kitchen, in that it keeps the bikes stowed away until deliveries are needed. I also like the second floor bar area and the fire escape in the back. I can't quite tell from the pictures, but is there a bathroom under the first floor staircase? And what is that object tucked away in the corner of the gambling room (with the muskets)?
  21. The only question I have with the characters you've suggested is... Would those be recognizable to kids? I'm someone who falls into the group of obsessing over (holdable) accessories. But unfortunately, Lego seems to prefer making new headpieces, which seems unfair to me considering there are just as many ideas for new accessory molds as there are headpiece molds. Granted, I do enjoy the new headpieces, and I also enjoy ingenious ways of reusing molds such as the Skeleton Boy's pumpkin basket. But it's always upsetting for me when a series has only one new accessory, or seemingly in Series 14's case, none. So this series leaves me less than excited for that reason, despite liking the figures for other reasons.
  22. I like the reuse of the Yeti's head mold for Bigfoot, I just don't like how the dark brown is printed... It looks like a moustache. Just kidding, took a closer look and it doesn't look so bad... I do like the camera for his accessory. Gargoyle is a clear favorite for me. Also digging the Plant Monster, especially how they oriented his hands and arms to hold the vines. I'm not a fan of how his vines are printed on his body, though. Spider Lady's cape looks like two pieces and is clear plastic. Color me surprised. Horror Rocker has stitch printing on his arms. A nice detail there. That last one looks to be the Ghost, but has the Grim Reaper's hood... Not sure what's going on or which one it actually is. I quite like the cape, though. But that bottom piece... Why is this not the genie tail? Not to say it's not a great piece, but I would have loved to see usage of the genie tail in the context of a Ghost. Some of the pictures have Simpsons figures in the background... Dr. Hibbert has the Buzz Cola accessory while Smithers has a briefcase. We know these aren't accurate, so I'm led to believe that some of these Series 14 figures aren't fully or correctly accessorized. I was sure the Businessman Zombie would have gotten an accessory or two.
  23. Now that I see him, he doesn't look all that bad. I'm quite liking the dual-molded arms. I wonder if he's the guy that brought the Fly Monster to life?
  24. I was under that assumption, actually. It looks like the headpiece does fit over a regular head. It will make the piece at least slightly more versatile, because you can use it on different heads. And it makes me wonder what the head underneath looks like, if there is one...
  25. My favorite parts are the way you contsructed the sushi conveyor belt and the Duplo fish. I always enjoy seeing Duplo and Lego being used together!
