  1. Yeah, they are a pain in the megablocks. I tried to make it look like the water at high tide had made an impact on the stone. Most appreciated Thank you There is no door... No, actually, the door is there. You can see it in the basement shot. I heard a saying that good artists create, but Great artist steal. So I try to steal wherever I can. See above Also, sorry about that. I was in a hurry when I wrote the entry, and I made the names on the fly. Your choice of name was good and stuck to my brain. And my mind is a mess. But good to see a basketball connoisseur in here. Thanks a lot
  2. Here is my submission: Lucky Charms Gang of Charlatan Bay
  3. Many a sailor had stopped by The House of Clover to buy themselves comfort in the form of clover before heading out on raids. Word has it they bring luck. And luck was in demand on the high seas. It was located on the edge of a cliff, built with rubble and leftover bricks, with a traditional overhang to maximize space on the upper floor. The pier was suited for small traders, but manouverable ships up to class 3 could harbour up at the utmost edge. For the smallest boats it was often just as easy to take the goods up directly from the shore using the stairs. Tonight they were used for another purpose. A band of orphans played break-in. Most of them originated from Balondia, the Corrington colony east of Carno. They had learned the art of picking locks and pickpocketing in a much bigger group there, but eventually the Corringtons struck down on them, jailing most of them. The remaining ones had to flee, and signed up on the first ship available. Being landlubbers, they got booted as soon as they reached port. They took the owner of the house by surprise. Rumor had it he had a pot of gold, and gold could buy a lot of sweets. Inside was sparingly, but tastefully decorated, with lots of plants all over, and a lavatory in the corner. They quickly surrounded the owner and held him at gun point. "So, we found your pot. But where is the gold? Spill your beans, or we might just play firestarter on this joint. With you in it.", Adam demanded. Being the oldest he had appointed himself leader of the pack. Adam. The leader. "Okay okay, easy now lads. You got me. Unfair, but square enough. The gold is not in the pot. It is in the clovers. They bring luck when most needed, and can make your dreams come true if you believe hard enough. Sailors come here to trade gold or wares for a little bit of luck. Since you caught me, my family creed entails me to grant you one wish.", the owner revealed reluctantly. "For each of us?", Mishap Malone (formerly known as Pistol Pete), a boy with a bowler hat asked optimistically, while prodding him in the back with his flintlock pistol. Mishap Malone (formerly known as Pistol Pete) "Ehrm, that is unclear in my family chronicles. But I am sure we can come to an agreement. You seem like such nice boys.", the owner tried. "We'll decide who are nice boys. And it certainly ain't us.", Terry promptly added. Terry "Alright, hold on a bit there. What do you guys think about a toy ship? One for each of you. Don't you wish you had one of those?", the owner suggested, a bead of sweat trickling down his chin. "I want a body, just your size, to practice my carving technique", Darrel said with a smile, while stroking his sharp blade. Darrel "Want me to bash his head in, boss? Want me to? Please? I haven't smashed someone for ages. Several days at least." Long John chimed in. Long John "Not so fast, boys" A voice in the corner said. Eli, the second in command, was testing the lavatory facilities. "Seems like you have quite the business here. What about if we take your clovers of your hands, don't kill you, and wish for 90% of all your future profits" Eli, Lieutenant "That's a bit tough", the owner exclaimed, mumbling "90%, I'll show those little.." "If it is one thing I've learned it is that you make your own luck in this world." Adam said, looking down at his peg leg. "You are skilled with making luck. From now on you work for us. We will collect a share from you every week. 90% as Eli suggested seems fair. In return we will not flay you alive. That's the deal. To ensure you don't squirm out of this deal, we wish for the power to end your life, whenever we like, wherever you may be". "Gosh, you got me. Fine, you get your wish, minus expenses" The owner said. "Expenses up to a total of 20%, including your 10% share. And you have to show us the accounting books. And if we decide to kill you we will do it within.. less than 3 hours." Adam counteroffered. "Fine. Fine. Have it your way. I guess I don't have much choice." the owner sulked. He snapped his fingers and said "It is done!" before disappearing in a cloud of smoke. Downstairs, Whimsey had discovered some of the goods traded for lucky clovers. Whimsey With luck now on their side, the future looked bright for The Lucky Charms Gang. I am going to license this as a small commerce, as an exchange of goods and wares.
  4. The White Glove Order have received word about your endeavours to create a safe trading port in the city of Trador. We would like to attain a warehouse in the city and establish a safe trade route between the city of Trador and the city of Bardo. We are always eager to expand, so if there will be empty properties we are interested in looking at additional ones. Victor Servadac, on behalf of The White Glove Order. So, 1 order of property, more if there are available ones after a while. I see how you would like to spread them though, so only IF there are not enough interest around. The emblem for The White Glove Order (WGO) is the image of a white glove. Our colors are as diverse as those of the autumn. Green to yellow, orange, brown, purple, greys, black. But not blue. Never blue. Anything but blue.
  5. My entry is ready. I just have to find the cable for transferring the images, and see if they are alright. I started with the minifigs, and just went with the flow, and without the pressure to perform. I think that's the way I work best. Great challenge. Edit: It deserves better pictures. Hope the sun shows up one of these days.
  6. Or cows? Is it allowed with video links? I hid it just in case.
  7. I like the use of so many classic bricks. Very Retro-Modern. Especially the basic red doors and windows vs the small delicate touches of the top of the coloumns and the minifig bases in the mansard roof. It is an outstanding example on how to make your MOCs Classic. And the round 2x2 flat tile above the door, simple and effective. Widely available bricks opens up the possibility for others to include it in their stories. Well done! Constructive critisism: The only thing is that the rock looks a bit bad from the backside. If it is part of a setup I understand completely. Alone from, that angle. Not so good.
  8. @kahir88: The rules have been confusing for all of us from time to time, but a lot of unclear parts have been rewritten. They are getting there :) Challenges, freebuilds and MRCA results are a good source of income. You get points on a monthly basis after licensing builds. If you keep your eyes open there are almost always some settlement, Trade Company or faction that offers incentives for building in different regions. And you can get points in the MRCA (sending ships out on different kind of missions). After you have introduced your sigfig, you get a free ship (up to class 2), and a free building. That's all you need to know to get started. You will get into it soon enough, and you can always ask if anything is unclear or you don't know where to find the relevant rules.
  9. Have I missed anything or are the new automatic November MRCA postponed?
  10. Of course sea serpents don't exist. At least no sane eye witnesses have survived to tell the tale...
  11. Is it just me that noticed the door? I have not seen that technique before. Somehow this makes me think of both Alsace and Austrian ski resorts at the same time.
  12. Great rockwork, and the overall picture made an immediate impression. Good to see the rats waking up. We all know how it goes if the rats jump ship ;)
  13. I love when people pay attention to history and the actual process. The devil is in the details (which is a good thing).
  14. What I like most about this build is the dreamy soft surroundings and the mid scale of the ship. Good way to make sails without all the ado. I'll keep that in mind.
  15. You make good builds and play with different versions of techniques. I appreciate that. However, as with Stedor, I would love to see some contrasting colors to balance it out. A dark roof perhaps, or a horizontal line between the floors. I'm not sure, but I feel that it needs just a little darkness against all the bright bricks. The parts above the ground floor windows are nice. Perhaps dark brown instead of tan there would make all the difference. Or another color on the slopes above the second story windows. You are very productive, and impressive builds on a grand scale. My comments are only meant to make each building stand out a little more. :) I think I forgot to comment on your awesome historically correct fore and aft caste on the Prince of Stedor, so consider this a late congratulations and approval for that. 1 DB transferred for missed approval points.
  16. Lovely build. Funny scenes adds life to the build. The monkey conspiracy are starting to unsettle me, but in a good way. The style strikes me as a place of worship in the Oleon tradition. The shelf/upper floor adds a lot to the build.
  17. White and (especially) black are horrible to work with when it comes to taking pictures. What strikes me as very realistic is the roof. The rough surface and lighting makes it look weathered. And the white works as a strong and good contrast. Very good use of traditional roof bricks (y). The one thing I would comment is that the white bricks underneath the roof are more commonly seen underneath the line under the roof instead of on top of the line... My vocabular hinders me. Like this: First relevant picture I found Apart from that, the roof on this is top notch.
  18. Double duty for silver scythe
  19. Whoa... I have been reading through all relevant threads for the last hours. Capt Wolf summed it up nicely. I also have decades of pen and paper RPG and game master experience, and we have ourselves a series of unfortunate events here. Let's remember that everyone can make mistakes. Both sides have made errors here, much of it because communications have failed. The timing of information made this a real mess, and I think that is much of the reason why many Eslandolans are upset. I realize how tough it is to see lots of work not unfold like planned, because of unexpected moves by the players. Let's try to keep our heads cool, even if our hearts are burning. Operation KMA inspired greatly and added fuel to BoBs. It felt like this was the event that truly launched BoBs to the next level. Please don't let that effect be thwarted and washed away. Blatant rulebreaking should not be rewarded, But great initiative should. So a compromise from both sides are in order. I think a good solution may be to find a way to include the lore of KMA and Fuerte Unido. Rewrite around it, perhaps start some talks to arrange a truce (at least temporary) between Eslandola and Mardier (thank you Phred for the IC support!). It feels like a No Go for Fuerte Unido will break the fun more than a compromise will break the game. I don't know the plans for island 11, so I don't know how much it will impact future events. I hope it is possible to find a way here. We can come with suggestions, but without knowing we can not pick the best solution. I am sure Eslandolans can accept steps that have to be taken, as long as those steps respect the effort laid down. Hopefully letting Fuerte Unido stay, since so much of the story evolves around the position of the islands and the threat we felt from Mardier. The suggestion of making island 11 a disputed land, and find a new island for the challenge also sounds like a possible solution to me. I am trying to be objective here, and take into consideration both lore and story concerns, as well as effort already laid down from both players and GM.
  20. Finally a use for all those red sausages. I think lego made all their sausages red, because danes are obsessed with red sausages. And TLG being danish, they must have been very aware of this. What country would be closest to Denmark in BoBs? The place where minifigilization (civilization) arose? Any BoBs historians that have any idea? I want to use sausages, imported from wherever that may be, in my entry.
  21. Burn away, and make way for new crops at the same time :)
  22. Fun that you try out different tree techniques. As long as you got wood, you're good.
  23. I think I have a new favorite BoBs build! You can almost smell the fresh wood. The experience of the farmers certainly proved to yield results quickly. This is proper guerilla warfare! Settle down before anyone realizes what is going down. Before soon we will have the people fighting for us Edit: Oops, someone took over my mind for a moment there...
