The war effort brought not only military activity to Fuerte Unido. It brought business opportunities. All those soldiers and hired men needed places to spend their blood earned salaries. In one of the mountain cavities where the growing settlement got their rocks from, Wednsdaeigh and Orbinson had opened their first restaurant. They had great expectations and dreams for their new venture. Who knew, maybe Wednsdaeigh would be a known name throughout the Brick Seas one day... Their secret ingredient to their delicious Mumbo Jumbo Soup was not only the chillies. They were easy enough to notice. It was all down to which kind of fond you used. Which kind you say? Not telling, but you could always bring the bones out back to The Royal Society of Natural Philosophy and see if they find out. Medium Artisan

The third wave of soldiers were approaching shore, to keep up the pressure against the Mardier threat. The defenses were set up good, even the nature seemed to work against us. Only a small clearing amid thorns and cliffs offered any offensive action. The commotion on the beach filled up the pauses between cries for help and blasts from the cannons. Oh no! One of the fallen ones was the famed Henri La Brickwall, the famed commander that had become a symbol of justice and retribution throughout his lifetime. Which now had come to a sudden halt. Few seemed to notice the pale rider. The ones that did never lived to tell the tale. But nothing could break the Eslandolan spirit. Not even spirits. One Eslandolan Marine made his way through murky waters to flank the sniggering Mardierianers. Overview: For Eslandola! I based my character on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henri_de_la_Tour_d'Auvergne,_Vicomte_de_Turenne C&C welcome :)

[OL - FB] The Argo, a class 4 trader
Sir Stig replied to Capn Frank's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
It worked out fine. Nice land entry area (or whatever it is called). The black curve blends somewhat with the slopes, and fool the eye so it looks like she got more curve. Nice executed forecastle. And I find area where the black assembly in the stern (is it a rudder?) meets the hull pieces very aesthetically appealing. I wish the Argo good luck on the voyages ahead. -
Flashy decor on the back . I think this color scheme fits for the next official Lego pirate ship (licensed material exempted). Cool effect an technique on the grate (? - on the deck front part of the ship. Picture 4, 5 an 8).

Sweet! Are the sides tilted? It looks like it, but I can't figure out how you did it. Smooth transition on the sides on the lengthwise curve. I take a bow for your snot techniques. Don't get me wrong, but: I like, in particular, the underside of the stern. On your ship.

The Empire of Oleon: Sign-up and Discussion

Nothing is beyond the mental reach of creative marketing! I wonder if it could have been an Eslandolan involved when creating the Order? In any case, I have to give my salute for a well executed scam. -

The Mardier Death Squad chose their victims carefully. Defenseless and unarmed preferably. This time they had kidnapped the daughter of a Terraversan diplomat, taunted her, and killed her. Now they had found a spot behind a small abandoned warehouse. What depths would Mardier go to cover their deplorable acts? Since Mardier have no clue about what are acceptable behavior, they probably did not dig for long.. This is an entry for Eslandola, depicting the wicked ways of Mardier "tactics".

@Ayrlego, I think I know what post you are referring to, and I have also looked for it. They looked great, as do your troops. We should have them under a resource page (in Master Index), with this lore.

For all of us inexperienced ship builders, this demonstrates how awesomelooking ships you can build with prefabs. I love how the yellow contrast helps define her shape. She looks solid, which is something I struggle with, even when I use the prefab. Realistic and representative color scheme. And, yeah, I noticed those sails Sweet!

Impressive! You managed to capture some aspect that reflects each owners building style I will study more, and draw inspiratiion from this for sure. Lots of funny details I will not spoil.

Is it possible to buy time at any of your departments? What happens if you forget to ring the bell? You may very well end up disrupting the very fabric of time and space. Before we know it we will all be stuck in eternity. Heed my word.- 40 replies

Shipwrights Guild Hall (WIPs, feedback, and advice)
Sir Stig replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks, I will try and tweak it a little, and post more WIP as I go along. It is easy to be afraid to not be good enough, but I try to think that if I am to afraid to make mistakes I never learn (goes for everyone). -

Pure inspiration, mixed with impressions of what I've seen, trying to weld in some of the advices I've read here. I really wanted to try and make the prefab hull work, but widen it a bit, while maintaining sleek lines throughout. Making the gun deck open as a carrack, solves a lot of my issues, and presents me with a new angle I had not thought of. It also set me free from thinking about how I should proceed with the stern. However, looking at the carrack designs, I think the hull lends itself more to that shape. I also wanted to give her a vicious appearance that fits her name and history (price from the pirate purge). Hence the experimentation on the beakhead. Is it frowned upon to make an inbetween version of a xebec and a carrack? Will it blend? -

Sir Stig replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Looking very good. The sails really adds the last flair. I am not a native shipbuilder, however I have been trying to get something going. Advice on how to proceed here? (I am going to change the bowsprit(? The front of the ship), and because of lack of bricks I have to replace the round 2x2 and the 1x4 black arches: It is supposed to be a 4A (Cold Heart bought at an auction some time ago) -
I agree, although the trash talk is fun, it is maybe not so nice for new players to be pulled in every direction. I think the suggestion to make a little story following a beginning sigfig, with examples for each of the factions are a great idea.

I will do Double Duty as usual with Silver Scythe. In addition I would like to sign up Winged Wisdom for Double Duty. If we run several flotillas, I would prefer if these two ships could be in separate flotillas to spread risk.
