Last MRCA my ship 'The Galaxie' captured a 2A vessel "Big Nemo". Is it possible to roll the dice and see how much I can get for it? Thank you for your time.

Mr. Robertson, I appreciate your gracious offer of compensation for the loss of The Expedition. I would prefer a replacement license if that is a possibility. Thank You, Sir Admiral Duke

Thank you for the comments! It has been a joy working on this ship. A big thank you to Phred for driving half way across the state to offer your expertise and help make it better! The caronades, a design by Phred from long ago, were an inspiration from the 'deck clearers' found on the front of the HMS Victory. They were not used for chasing down a vessel, but used to clear the enemies deck before boarding. This is why they can face down the ship's side. The long cannons right below them were used to shoot forward at longer range. I have plans to make minor adjustments to Jean-Luc Picard's ship with a bumble bee rudder!lol

During his worldly travels Sir Admiral Duke has collected blueprints and ideas to create the next generation in fast, efficient trade vessels. He hired the best Naval Architects to apply the most innovative features, designs and ideas to oversee the building of their new prototype called 'The Lightning'! Leading this ship on her trade missions will be Captain Emma Elizabeth. The prototype ship will be licensed as a 5F and I will post pictures of her underway as soon as I'm finished with the sails.

Ocean: The final frontier These are the voyages of the HMS Expedition Her continuing mission To explore strange new worlds To seek out new life and new civilizations To boldly go where no man has gone before The Expedition is Sir Admiral Duke's latest edition and new flagship to his Fleet of Oleon warships. The captured, royal ship is a 42 gun, fifth rate, great frigate that will initially be underlicensed as a 5HA. I will post pictures of her underway as soon as I'm finished with the sails.

I would like to make a request from 'The Naval Licensing and Prize Court' to look at a MOC I made of a captured vessel, 'The Ranger'. I am asking to be allowed to upgrade the captured ship from a 4A to a 5LightA based on the upgrades I made. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=133604

During some recent trade missions the Oleon Fleet came into contact with hostile Pirates who's intentions were to wreak havoc on their peaceful trade missions. These Pirates chased down the convoy 'Flirting With Disaster' and immediately began taking helpless ships into their greedy hands. The four armed escorts fought heroically and losses were great on both sides. Unfortunately, of the four escorts, only The Galaxie managed to survive and overcome the marauders, capturing two of them to take back to port. Below is the condition the largest ship was captured in. The naval architects of Oleon found greater potential in this ship and immediately put the dockyards to work on the upgrades. The upgrades included, repairing all battle damage, adding two gun ports to the sides and two to the front. With the extra weight they felt it was necessary to increase speed by adding a large lateen sail to the main mast. To increase strength and efficiency they remounted the main maist, tilting it reaward 10°. Below is the finished product and newest addition to Admiral Duke's fleet 'The Ranger'!

The Empire of Oleon: Sign-up and Discussion
Dukesc replied to Sebeus I's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thank you Kolonialbeamter and to the rest of the High Council! It is an honor to receive this promotion! I look forward to contributing with Oleon's leadership for the success of Oleon and serving them after Poseidon! -
I agree with that and apologize if I didn't bring any new ideas or content to the discussion.

I think that sistershipping is fine for those who wish or need to do it. An example of why I feel this way is because there are people out there with limited bricks and time who dedicated a huge amount of time and resources into a ship they have on display and won't destroy. They may have made it for the sole purpose of BoBS, but are then told after using it say one month to rebuild or you can't use your masterpiece. In my opinion, this could drive away would be hardcore BoBS users who may one day again find the time and resources to build another masterpiece to display next to their first one. Aside from that it is a totally realistic game mechanic to have multiple sisterships, just like how it would be in real life. If it was insisted on to put more effort into sistersshipping maybe we could have the owner do as little as taking new pics with a revised crew and/or armament, or do as much as make adjustments to it that would change it's classification. Maybe a 3A could be converted to a 3T by removing guns and adding a crane or 3F by changing rigging plus other things.

I appreciate the comments! Every time I make a Bricklink Order I am on the lookout for that elusive white sloped, corner piece. As soon as I have enough I'll address the corners!

Ska, like many, I became restless waiting with excitement for this last month's MRCA. Then as soon as the results came in the first thing I looked for is how my ships did and then my faction. As I was reading the entire first post it hit me like a ton of bricks on just how much work you put into this. It's difficult for me to wrap my mind around how dynamic and creative so many of the detailed results came in. It certainly helps swallowing the loss of any ships when it comes with such individualized reasoning. Thank you for putting so much time aside during a very busy time in your life to satisfy all of our anticipation.

Bregir, thanks for the comments! Some red bricks would certainly compliment the peeling. Fuzzy MacFuzz, what a fine letter that was a joy to read! Are you foreshadowing that you might one day feel compelled to make an attempt of bringing my fort down? I enjoyed building this fort, but have pondered the idea of building an all dirt or low profile stone fort in the future. Hmm.

Thanks for the comments and I will take them into consideration on future builds! I attached a picture of what I've been using for sails. This costs about $5 at Wal-Mart, but it won't work for large ships. The sail height was primarily determined by the mounting points of the non-moc mast which was determined by the height of the non-moc mast support. This will be adjusted when (I already started) I build larger ships and move away from the non-moc mast pieces.

Possibly your favorite for small prefabs w/o center sections! What a compliment and thank you! My story telling seems to fall in line with my photography skills. They both need attention and I'm OK with that, but I'll work on it:-)! I greatly enjoyed reading the intercepted letter! The translation is close on the names too. Lol! And what these ships foretell has yet to be disclosed. I heard the dockyards are continuing to offer extra rations for longer shifts. I wonder if there's been any leakage of information regarding any larger ships. Thank you for the compliments! And well said as they are currently on peaceful missions.

Thank you! I do agree this is probably about max size for a single masted ship. And for the controversial bowsprit. Here is another ship that I referenced: if the tallest little person on here is 6' tall this ship's hull would be around 54' long and the bowsprit is around 90% of the hull length about the same as my ship who's hull is about 50 studs long and the bowsprit is in the 90% range as well. Thanks for the comments! The photo editing is still in the experimental stages much like the photography. Otherwise, here's proof the Oleandors are much more advanced than flying air balloons. About the crew, I barely recall setting it up as I just met the deadline to post as I went on 26 hours without sleep. Maybe I'll let the Marines be Marines in the future rather than pull cannon duty!

Thanks everyone for the comments! It was a fun little ship to build!

Thank you TitusV, I appreciate it!

Thanks for the comments! My kids call the guardhouse on the left 'the police station', because it says Police on the inside.lol I figured it was an ammo/powder shack.

Thank you! My photography skills, or lack there of, really are in their infancy. Thank you! Thanks!! Thanks! Lol....Here's a picture of someone standing next to a cannon about the same size for reference. Thank you for the compliments and pointers. I'll have to give it a try. I was thinking about getting different background colors and then photo editing them to make them look a little better. I just ran out of time for the month.

Thank you! It's definitely crowded, but I could imagine real war ships weren't all that roomy. The guns are as close to each other as I am comfortable with, even for the small cannons. Thank you! And there certainly were ships with crazy long bowsprit's. If you look hard enough you'll find some nearly or just as long as the hull in smaller ships. Thanks! It's licensed as a 4A and I plan to keep it that way. I guess one could argue if you removed some guns, ball, powder and a few lads there'd be plenty of room for cargo. Or maybe not, I don't know?

Sir Admiral Duke taking two of his new ships, the Meteor and Galaxie out on their maiden voyage. Sir Admiral Duke talking with one of his ship captains. Captain - Wow these ships sure are fast sir! Admiral - I agree and their maneuverable too! We do have the finest naval architects in the world! Both looking in their telescope. Captain - What's that sir? Admiral - It looks like a rectangular structure of some sort. Captain - Ah, it's a shipwreck! Admiral - Oh yes it's the HMS Fernando! Captain - Maybe we could Salvage some of it? Admiral - No use lad she's Slandie built. Captain - Ay sir, how shall we proceed? Admiral - We came out here to try our new ships, so why don't we see how they do firing a full broadside. Captain - Yes Sir! Fire!!!! I hope you enjoyed it! The Galaxie
