Sets arrived today... couple of issues; - In Ayesha's Revenge, the flicking mechanism piece is incredibly loose and does not connect to the technic pin with any friction. I'm going to have to get a replacement for it. - In Ayesha's Revenge, the sliding mechanism has a lock-in piece via a technic pin this will eventually break the pin or become loose from opening/closing. - Mantis's head piece is rubbery and weird, its not as much of an issue, but it sticks to the head often - Similar to some of the other sets recently the head's appear to stick to the neck piece often, in a few cases i've been unable to remove or turn the heads without applying considerable force - Drax's new torso printing is terrible, its effectively the old print except smudged, its overly thick lines prevent any details from standing out, it completely ruins the tattoo'd look of his previous figure As for the figures, mostly ended up taking the better parts from the new sets and mixing them with other figures in the line-up to make them look better, e.g. Nebula having Drax's GOTG 2 legs. Chances are i wont fully build the new Milano, i've started building it and its just so disappointing that it's better to just mod it immediately. If i can find some more pieces will hopefully get it looking better and give it a better storage area to try and fit all seven of the team (and baby Groot)

LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion

Interesting. Hope its a good set. If done right could work as a shark display model aswell as a mech. Chances are they've just broken street date at the moment and will be more widely available in March. -

Hopefully its worth it. Though with the trailer being our only looks at what the sets could be, people are going to be expecting the sets to be as impressive. They could mess up Lloyd's dragon easily given reducing the size of the set would have a drastic impact on the pieces used and the overall look. Most of the replicators that Lego are concerned about replicate the visuals of the exterior alone to decrease production time and get them released before Lego's versions. Later on companies like Leppin attempt to replicate the set's interior to varying levels of success, often even improving on the original design or releasing sets that are cheaper more affordable near-identical models to Lego or even Lego ideas. Due to Lego's prices massively increasing over the last few years a market has grown for these sorts of knock-off's and the recent price jump for the UK where sets increased by around 20-30% is an example of why knock-off's are so succesful - coupled with them being hundreds of dollar's cheaper than Lego figures. On one hand you can get the Lego Ninjago Temple Of Airjitzu for $199.99 on the other you can get a Lepin version for $80. Its easy to see why Lego are worried about knock-off's. -

Been trying to replicate the Kai Mech from the trailer, wondering whether to attempt to try and do the whole 'piston arm' thing it has going? Would such a design even be strong enough to support the arms and get the same articulation in the trailer. I know they kind of cheat sometimes in the movies, so unsure if its possible to replicate. While this may have been the primary function, its evolved into being a way to advertise the toys on a massive scale and if the Ninjago sets are the next step forward with Lego mechs it just seems strange not to reveal them. Other fandoms are now hyped and spreading images of stuff they are getting later in the year, creating both hype and advertising the sets to as many people as possible - yet with Ninjago all we have to discuss is a battle pack and when the sets will be shown so the fandom is dormant. We can't even effectively discuss the 'Hands Of Time' TV series because of its strange status of having foreign episodes all released and no english release date, its now been almost 2 months since the foreign episodes aired and people are actually starting to sub and dub the series because they have lost faith in Lego releasing an english version. As for the levels of excitement, personally i've always seen more value in the NYTF reveals. We see the sets from one or two angles, people discuss and speculate about how they are made, then as it progresses we see better images and eventually we get the official images - and by that stage we're already planning what to get. If they just come out with official images D2C or at D23 or SDCC it removes a lot of the fun from reveals as it'll be just 'here they are, this is what you get'. Also prolonging the reveal is a double-edged sword, we can get more hyped for the reveal, but we'll also expect more from the sets to justify them not being shown. -

"The LEGO Ninjago Accessory Pack (853687) will retail for $14.99 and word has it that it is already showing up at LEGO Brand Stores. It’s not on Shop@Home yet but I suspect it will be at the beginning of March." - TheBrickFan Still a bit disappointed that the accessory packs have went from four figures to three figures. -
Seems i've been beaten to the punch by ReZourceman :P Though i may end up doing a picture line-up of the option that i suggest for someone previously, of getting specific figures to have a movie 1 styled line-up of the Guardians. E.g. wearing the red ravager outfits and potentially having Rocket's arm printing on a few of them for added details. Hopefully the MCU Spider-man sets or the movie ends up being popular so we'll see more sets for the sequel in 2019 - as long as its not covered by tons of Avengers 4 sets. Though in the current state i doubt this wave will be popular given only the truck set has figures that will really interest people. I can't really see people buying the bank set unless they really want to own the Avengers-masked robbers. I'll probably get it for a spare Spider-man and for spare '100' printed money tiles. If i keep the truck will probably mod it into a money van, fill the back with money and have it as the robber's escape vehicle - while Shocker and Vulture would probably be kept seperate (hopefully for an MCU Sinister Six one day...)

LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion

May pick up the battle pack for Shade, he could fit nicely with the ghost pirates if i end up getting the Silent Mary. Fingers crossed for next month then. I dont mind being patient, but it was reallly silly of Lego not to publically show off the Ninjago sets at NYTF. They'll still be revealed long enough for companies to make knock-off's and release them at the same time. All that hiding the sets did was give Ninjago fans nothing to hype over and make it more difficult for us to plan purchases of the sets, they missed a major opportunity to demonstrate the new sets or even a singular set. NYTF is for promotion after all and to only show the sets to those going was such a dumb decision that it baffles the mind. Just answering your query, not encouraging images - but simply providing my view on whether i think we'll see any, I expect a few people who went were lucky enough to take an image of the sets sneakily for private viewings, but in terms of what has been online, we have no image of them other than the box-art (Which is of Lloyd) If people managed to get images and were planning to show them somewhere or describe them, chances are they would have done it by now. If any of the major sites going had taken an image, then we'd have probably got a more clearer write-up of what to expect. As such there is not much chance that any NYTF images of the Ninjago sets will appear and its probably best to give up looking for them. -

Future Marvel Superheroes Rumors & Speculation
Scarilian replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
We have'nt currently got confirmation on his planet form, though if it does happen it will be heavily disappointing that we did not get some set representation. I suppose we can hold out hope for an additional fourth set, but from info we're unlikely to get it. Phoenix Customs normally does good custom figures if we're not lucky enough to get a figure at SDCC or a polybag. -
Sets should be arriving Monday so will give more detailed thoughts on them when they arrive :3 Ended up using the Ocado method, thanks for the heads up about the money off. Ended up ordering all three sets, plus three of the TLBM figures and they gave a spare tea towel for free xD Unsure if it will help others, but i found they have a voucher code that offers £25 off first time purchases. Its meant to be if its £100 or more, but it works under that for some reason. Also gives you free shipping, you can also schedule delivery. In essence you can get all three sets, which would originally cost you £95 for £70 AND get either three TLBM CMF's or three Nexo Knights power packs. Its effectively a perfect offer if you plan on getting any New Lego sets and are UK based, especially the new GOTG sets.

Not sure... would question why they did not show his face print at NYTF. Who knows, could happen, i just think they would have shown it off more if it was a unique head.

I'm sort of interested in the larger Spider-man Homecoming set, but i'm not sure if its worth it. Hopefully we see Shocker soon to be motivation to get it. Unsure also about the new Milano, i'm not as much of a collector of the builds as i used to be and it's not really sparking my interest - but it'll probably be cheaper to get the set than bricklinking the figures We are aware of 'Tinkerer', a third villain, and we do not currently have a release of any of the more focused on side characters such as Aunt May or the roommate character. Though admittedly they would be unlikely to draw attention. The first might draw people in. The second does not provide much to attract attention. The third is already available to everyone easily via other themes.

I think as a figure he'd look sort of like Force Awakens Luke if we got a figure of him. -
Future Marvel Superheroes Rumors & Speculation
Scarilian replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
So, this is a promotional image (so not a spoiler) released of Ego. A character in the new Guardians Of The Galaxy film. I'm hoping that he will be released in addition to the current GOTG sets. due to the characters role in the story, which will not be discussed here, and the design of the character as we do not have many bushy bearded figures in the MCU line-up. Just wondering if anyone would be kind enough to provide any pieces to make a custom version of this character. -
The LEGO Ninjago Movie CMF Guessing Game
Scarilian replied to VaderFan2187's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
There's bene a few other guess/wishlist topics, so here is my thoughts on a few figures we could get. Trailer 1 - Lloyd, Night wear variant (1:45) - Outfit is IDENTICAL to Emmett's from the Lego movie, i remember hearing quite a few people asking for the torso, arms and legs to be released. Perhaps they have and i'm just unaware, but seems logical to have Lloyd released with his night suit 2 - Garmadon, Night wear variant (1:48) - A funny take on the villain would be perfect for the CMF line-up 3 - Afro fiancé (1:30) - Afro piece has only appeared in the CMF range other than a birthday set 4 - Wedding dress fiancée (1:30) - Most prominent figure in trailer, though does not appear too unique... 5 - Beach Ball beach goer (1:24) - Beach ball piece and printing seem unique enough that i can see justification for a figure 6 - Woman with baby and bottle (1:28) - The baby appears in other scenes including Lloyd defending it from shark villains- 8 replies

Shall do :) Should speculation about the the mysterious figure in the Spider-man Homecoming set and the Thor Ragnarok sets go there? Just wondering because we've heard information on what they include - but have not seen them. Is it a case where we discuss future sets in there and then go here once official images appear?

Also, in terms of the Avengers, i feel Thor should have arm and leg printing this time around - and hopefully we get an updated Loki as all the versions are based off his Avengers movie appearance and he's changed costume since. http://www.phoenixcustombricks.com/the-curator/ Official left, custom right.

Beware the Vulture should be the same price as Ayesha's Revenge. Instead in some places its the same price as the GOTG2 Milano set. If Shocker has full printing; arms, legs, head, torso... then i may get it at full price. Otherwise it's a pass till it drops price. There is a rather nice custom floating around by Phoenix Customs - unsure if its for sale anymore though There was an increase in prices recently globally, the UK apparently suffered more-so. I expect the sets to go on sale to a more reasonable price, similar to the TLBM sets dropping prices by about 20% barely a week or so after the movie's release.

Do we get a topic for speculation then? Just wondering as the Pirates theme has two topics for the POTC 5 sets, one for confirmed the other for speculation. Pretty much - if they ever release an exclusive figure that is important to the theme such as if they were to release Ego exclusively to SDCC with no plans to distribute elsewhere, it would put me off collecting the characters given it'd start to become too expensive to get all the main important figures. SDCC exclusive's should be random weird characters based on the comics

We cannot dismiss the possibility of getting him at SDCC or via other methods of distribution such as polybag's - unless you are certain the SDCC figure is not going to be him? and that he will not be released in any way in 2017. Dont forget to buy a few of this guy while you can. I believe his arm's would work well on Star Lord, Gamora, Yondu and potentially Taserface or other Ravagers. Generally the Ravager-style red GOTG figures work extremely well with his arms.

A small bunch of the Ghost Sharks appeared online briefly recently. This does however hint that they will be released soon in some fashion, as they probably are in mass-production now.

LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion
Scarilian replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Well looking at the previous versions below, a price increase to about $150 would probably increase the piece count to around 1500 and have a minimum of nine figures Its worth noting that the size of the ship has not increased much in the previous versions however the detail of the ship has increased. So we could potentially see a more detailed version of the ship potentially stretched a bit to allow more space for figures. Destiny's Bounty £59.99 / $79.99 / 79.99€ Figures; 6 Builds; Destiny's Bounty, Snake pillar Pieces; 680 Final Flight Of Destiny's Bounty £99.99 / $119.99 / 83.99 € Figures; 9 Pieces; 1253 Builds; Destiny's Bounty, Dragon, Tool Rack ================================================================== Honestly with the style of ship it is, i'm expecting a build similar to below, perhaps with the addition of a cabin; Pirate Ship Ambush; £89.99 / $99.99 / 99.99€ Figures; 9 Pieces; 756 Builds; Pirate Ship, Catapult
