  1. To do Shocker right he needs to be fully printed - arms, legs and torso. I believe we've seen a top image of the box with the figures shiloutted and he didnt appear to have a helmet so there's that. If he lacks arm or leg printing despite having a detailed torso he'll look terrible. One of the key features of Shocker is the pattern and i cant see them doing that without the legs and arms.
  2. Was just mentioning in regards to the concerns people have about the scale of the doors - honestly a basic mod to this ship would just be removing some of the out-of-scale aspects such as the wheel and having the additional door pieces added of the same scale currently used. Could probably use micro-figures or statues and the ship would be fairly in-scale with the micro figures (other than the lack of a lower deck and part of the back segment) It's like the Helicarrier in that respect, it's not really meant to be shown with the figures on the vessel. Expectations rarely can be matched, so the work i and others are doing into their own various modifications to the Silent Mary may not meet them. Personally this is the first Pirate ship build i have attempted and with no other work of mine as a refrence i could understand potential concerns. I have certain criteria i want my version to match and that may not be accurate entirely to the original vessel (such as a lack of certain colours for piece being made by Lego). Though i hope people will like the finished version.
  3. In terms of the Lego Silent Mary the ship itself is not in-scale with the figures and its not actually a complete replica, it's missing an entire back segment and several other aspects (including an entire layer of the ship which would have included more guns). I can see both sides of things personally - but in regards to the ship, they are in-scale with the rest of the scaled down design. Every door in the Silent Mary version that they built was human sized for actors that were roughly , the only doors not built were the front one's however the real life scale of the rest of the ship coupled with the size/scale of the turrets implies that the front doors would also be human sized. Lego chose to represent doors from the middle and doors from the front using the same scale, which also implies that they would be the same size. In total the vessel has eight doors, here is a very basic layout; List of doors (From left to right) - Two at the front (Replicated on the Lego ship smaller) - Two in the middle of the ship built towards the front (Missing from the Lego Ship) - Two in the middle of the ship built towards the back (Replicated on the Lego ship smaller) - Two at the back of the ship behind the wheel (Missing from the Lego ship)
  4. Ordered mine Friday morning, think around 6am. I called up customer support this morning as my payment had not been taken and it was still 'In processing'. They were kind enough to chase things up, one of them even mentioned how they had a Silent Mary in their office on display and we chatted a bit, they seem to like the ship :P If lucky it may arrive this week. On the bright side, if there is such a large demand then perhaps it will convince Lego that Pirates is a viable theme - or even encourage them to continue the POTC license.
  5. Wondering if anyone has designed a bookshelf for Nexo Knights book's? Just have a few of them from sets and thinking of a good way to display them?
  6. Executioner was not on the list from Delta_Customs. Only chance for him to get a figure would be if he's released at SDCC or something similar. What's noteworthy is the actor mentioned he is mainly in armour, so potentially he could have the same external appearance as the two Henchmen included in the larger set. Thought it was battle damage, but still its an alternative costume which is nice to get.
  7. Very accurate, i think we're just used to using the term 'Pirate Ship' for POTC sets - primarily because we normally get Pirate ships and the theme title being 'pirates'. Though as i mentioned, you are completely correct, this is actually a spanish navy vessel. Any chance you could do some comparison images? Would be nice to see the scale and how this ship looks compared with the other POTC ships or even the Imperial Flagship? (Will reply more in-depth to your other remarks when i've gotten the ship myself, still waiting for it to process) Customer Support knows the least regarding upcoming sets, they are normally informed late into the process and the main role they serve is to help out anyone who has issues or queries about current sets. Twitter and Facebook team are believed to be the same, or at least have varying levels of communication between each other for marketing purposes. They however exist primarily to promote existing sets and are only given material relating to currently sold sets or sets that are being openly promoted. So unfortunately neither would be likely to confirm the information - the best you may be able to get is that customer support are told the name/theme of a set for the VIP exclusives on occasions - i believe the Silent Mary was confirmed in such a way. I'm fairly sure that the Silent Mary will end up being our only set this time around, other than a potential pirate-related polybag or something similar.
  8. Captain Pirate Man/MikeyJProductions review Review was accurate and covered the main points a review needed to. Only small remark is that the book has new printing and a new interior 'page' piece, however it's been used a few times in Nexo Knights, still a nice piece though. Still waiting for the set to arrive personally, but it didnt seem like you were harsh on the set. I've heard many people dismiss it completely due to a lack of a hull, but i think comparing it with the Imperial Flagship gave the impression that you were definitely considering it as one of the better pirate ships we've had. It's grown on me quite a lot since initial images. I think seeing the ship in the trailers actually doing things (compared to the QAR which never had a pirate ship battle - is definitely helping. I think the remarks from those involved hinting towards the biggest pirate ship battle in the series also have enticed me to get a replica of the villain's ship. I think the main points that made me warm to the set were; The appearance from the side, seeing the set from the side really helped give off the ship appearance. They managed to make it look damaged without ruining the overall streamlined nature of a pirate ship and you can tell how the ship would look if the pieces were filled (an aspect i hope to do) The Ghost Sharks, for a while there was a lot of debate other the mysterious sharks and the inclusion of two of them definitely helped the set. It would likely have not been an immediate purchase without them. Though i own a couple of the sharks currently, i must admit they are easily the best sharks i've seen from Lego. Capable of eating figures, looking menacing and the ribs (though not accurate to real sharks) give a great visual The potential it has to be made into a complete ship is definitely an aspect that i feel makes it worthy of a purchase via any Lego pirate ship fan Just waiting on mine to arrive which should hopefully be before the middle of this week - and then should be able to start the process of making it into a more complete vessel.
  9. I'm not seeing the leg printing, they seem like regular black legs. Maybe its just that the printing is small or something... not sure what everyone else is seeing. Tbf, they were starting to improve in other themes - it's a massive shame they dont bother on occasions.
  10. I own a few myself, if you flip a figure's arms around you should be able to fit them entirely inside the shark and close the mouth :P A little concerning at this stage...
  11. I was referring to the Wayne Manor in the Classic Batcave, we get an entire segment of the manor and an interior - we also get the batcave. Buy four of these and you'd effectively have the manor via the exterior and the batcave on the interior. If it is modular... what would it even be? I mean, the city is fairly bland and nothing really screams 'Ninja' other than one or two buildings?
  12. Any chance of a few more pics, maybe larger ones also? The lighting of the lower segments hide some of the details. Love the ship though, especially how smooth and sleek it looks
  13. Thor is probably the best figures in the line-up. We get a battle damaged and a non-battle damaged version of the same costume which is great. I'm glad Lego are doing this with figures like Nebula for example. Damaged version has a blood stain and a leg wound. We also see his 'calm' face which is a fairly neutral expression which is nice because the smiling really would'nt have suited the look they were going for. The helmet is nice and the arm and undamaged leg print is good and can probably be used on some other figures. Hate the purple plaster on his damaged version - like Hulk's shoulder pad it looks ridiculous and detracts from the figure. I need to see better pictures of the other figures to make a better judgement. At the moment i hate the new Loki design, the colour scheme detracts heavily from his character and if he was not wearing the helmet i would'nt have recognised him as Loki. My main concern as of the moment is Hela's Headdress. We have'nt yet seen the movie headdress from the front so it could be the case where it does not have the eye covering, if that is the situation then i'm sorry, but the Lego helmet becomes worthless in my view... Overall it's a massive shame Lego seems to be skimping on the Marvel sets this year, the figures other than Spider-man, Thor and Iron Man have suffered greatly - a magnitude of figures that used to have leg or arm printing now lack it. Most the sets are 'ok' but they are primarily downgrades or generic sets rather than making something iconic or interesting - the closest we get is the interesting feature with the ship in the middle-priced GOTG set or the reduced scale/size version of the Milano which will be ignored by everyone wanting a version of the set. Hela, Vulture and Shocker all deserve full arm and leg print (I've listed Shocker for now because i expect he'll be lacking either arm or leg print) These are the main villains and should be given the right treatment. It should be common practice at this stage to go all-out on the main heroes and the main villains. We may never see Hela again and by the looks of things all she has is a torso print and a facial print that will be completely obscured when wearing the mask, which any fan of her would probably have her do all the time.
  14. We were never promised, it was just kind of expected given the videos focusing on the manor in the trailer, especially the focus on the paintings. Lego had also released a previous Wayne Manor. Ninjago City on the otherhand we've had rumours primarily because Ninjago's Temple Of Airjitzu is believed to have sold well enough to encourage Lego to produce more larger scale sets - which is why most the Ninjago movie sets we are expected to get are apparently on the larger scale. As for whether we'll get the city, i can see why they would do it as we've had a previous 'Battle for Ninjago City' and people who buy the sets may want to get a city to replicate a particular scene or battle - but i'm not going to hold out hope for it. Personally will be happy with the mech's as long as they are good.
  15. Can anyone here please report if any of the bags are missing on theirs? I'm hoping to eventually get one of the ships to collect in-box and do not wish to end up potentially selling it in the future only for it to be missing a bag... wondering if its a common issue. They should be around till Christmas - and we should have double VIP points by then. So i would'nt worry too much. Besides, the other Brickheadz should disappear before the POTC versions. Scale bothers me also, primarily because certain scenes from the trailer cannot be replicated as it appears to be missing some of the doors on the back of the ship - the real thing is longer General belief is that they'll do a 30th Anniversary Pirates line or set - which would be in 2019.
  16. These kind of errors definitely should'nt be happening nowadays - i can only imagine how infuriating that is. Get intouch with customer support as soon as possible.
  17. Contact Customer Services if its still not working?
  18. Ordering it now, will probably arrive early next week as free shipping is slightly slower. Will give general thoughts and things. Edit; Well, seems the UK site is derped and it wont let me checkout " Sorry! An unexpected error has occurred. Please call customer service. (code: generic)" :L Edit 2; After a while managed to check out via a different method. Silent Mary is now ordered :3 Thanks for the explanation Yeah, unfortunately it seems that the website has'nt fully updated but the confirmation segment has. So it shows as the double VIP points right up until the part where you are about to pay where it takes them away. If you've ordered already i suppose you could try telling Lego that it showed up as the double amount, yet even though thats true they probably wont give you the points as it'd be a system glitch and the inclusion of the Silent Mary (released on the 17th after VIP points ended) would tip the balance in favour of them not giving you the points. If you do want to wait until VIP - i'm guessing the next would probably be somewhere near the end of the year, normally October-December is the most likely and the legendary 'triple VIP points' might be somewhere around there also.
  19. Ensure you double check during the paying process. I saw mine as having double VIP points, however when it went to checkout it changed to a lower amount. It may be the same case for you.
  20. Its online now, states "Pre-order this item today; it will be in by null" ¬.¬ As a sidenote, for a brief second it showed double VIP points but then it changed
  21. Thats unfortunate - shame we cant pre-order as VIP's. Would save a lot of hassle rather than waiting for the page to update. I'm ordering mine from the online store so chances are it wont arrive till Monday at the earliest, so Iron Fist marathon for the weekend. Normally build with music or let's plays in the background. Is anyone thinking of getting the POTC Brickheadz also. I'm not really sure about getting them but it'd be kind of nice having them displayed along with the Silent Mary? Also, what Silent Mary mods do you all have planned? :)
  22. I would like to point out the incredibly high possibility that this is not the finalised version, but the same (or very likely a similar prototype) to the one that we saw previously.
  23. It should be out on the 17th, as they are advertising the VIP release. I just hope it updates prematurely while the VIP double points are active. Though yeah, is a big day :3 Either way, will be ordering the ship and shall probably get straight into modding it :)
  24. Site now advertising Silent Mary and the POTC Brickheadz, still not available. Edit; Reviews now being accepted for the sets, still not available. Edit 2; Casually refreshing until Silent Mary or Iron Fist :P
  25. Reviews; - Brickfan Silent Mary - Brickfan Captain Jack Sparrow - Brickfan Captain Armando Salazar - Brickvault Silent Mary @Error404 @Legoman123 Shall be attempting to do this and will probably do a seperate topic about it when i've made a lot of progress - at the moment mostly got a basic hull set-up, a lot of cannons and an even larger amount of brown, dark brown, black and reddish brown pieces :3 First will probably just mod the cabin and maybe fix some of the damage on the basic version, then it'll be increasing the size and completing the hull.
