  1. I would expect it to be based on the Asgardian longboat design unless Hela has her own unique ship; Which would mean the set would basically be a heavily trimmed down version of the Destiny's Bounty; Cut down the figures, remove the mast and a bunch of details and you'd have the Asgardian Longboat.
  2. The prices listed on the press release very likely refer to the GOTG Volume 2 sets specifically, given the amount of those sets was not revealed in the press release and as such they will likely be unvieled as a 'new thing' at NYTF even though they've been released at this stage. While these could be the prices for the whole wave, it contradicts the information we've heard of previously so we cant really jump to conclusions just yet. We'll hopefully find out today though. Press release does not straight-up mention we'll see them. It just confirms they will be released. I and others hope they reveal the sets anyway. We've seen the box sizes via https://www.promobricks.de/ As such i think it is quite possible that both the Thor sets are $49.99 OR $44.99 and $49.99 given they are identically sized. We may be heavily over-estimating the size/scale of the Gladiator Arena and Ship set.
  3. It was not mentioned in the press release, but that might be for a suprise reveal. Either it'll be NYTF or released in official images online. I'm personally expecting the official images route as i'm unsure if they would want to risk revealing the set in-person where it'd be more easy to see any potential flaws in the design.
  4. Its a press-release so primarily it will discuss information from the past and tease future information. We did not really get much specific information on any future releases, only numbers for what was officially revealed already. TLBM sets are all revealed now so the 18 sets that the theme is going to get is old news, not new. In a similar case it misses information we already know about, the three GOTG Vol 2 sets that have been released at this stage are not given a specific number. It is also partially related to phrasing. While certain themes and specific things are mentioned, such as The Ninjago Movie, its not stating that we'll see them 'later this year' - which i feel it would do if they did not plan on revealing the set. For example the Wonder Woman movie set is unlikely to be revealed given we know it contains spoilers and the Justice League sets are in the same situation, as such they stated 'later this year' and 'tied to the theatrical releases' "Additional sets tied to theatrical releases of the highly-anticipated Wonder Woman and Justice League feature films will be revealed later this year for children to build exciting scenes form the big screen"
  5. For those lucky few in this topic, or who notice this while browsing... Toyark will apparently be involved in a ' special LEGO breakfast that is planned for February 18th 2017 between 7-9AM' They mentioned Marvel & DC Lego specifically, meaning they could be where our first images appear of Spider-man Homecoming or Thor Ragnarok sets if they are going to be revealed at NYTF.
  6. I'm not on about the samurai guy's scene (I'm honestly expecting that to be a bit of a misdirection where perhaps they are the Atlantis warriors with tridents) but more so what will happen after the defeat we see in the trailers. I doubt they would reveal the end of the final battle in the trailer, so it feels more like a mid-movie thing where Garmadon is defeated for the first time and realises his son is Lloyd. Garmadon leads his shark mech and atlantis army Attacks Ninjago Garmadon is defeated by the Ninja in the mech's Garmadon discovers that Lloyd is alive The Ninja return to the dock's where they console Lloyd... Butt-dial scene I suppose Garmadon could attack again later with the same army, but i doubt they would do that because it'd just be defeating the same threat in the same way. Garmadon would probably want to change things up so i'm expecting a new army, perhaps even a new villain who forces Lloyd and Garmadon to work together.
  7. Has anyone considered that perhaps Garmadon might have two different armies in the movie, one of which will be the water-based aquatic villains at the start of the film before Lloyd reveals his identity to Garmadon - and then perhaps we'll get a different set of villains for the final battle? Something along the lines of; - Ninja training - Defend city against Garmadon water army - Dad issues - Defend city against Gamadon's new army - Resolution to Dad issues Something like that to parody the idea of Ninjago city constantly been attacked by a new 'monster of the week' style army. Either way, looking forward to the set reveal - should hopefully be tomorrow. I highly suggest checking Amazon if you are UK based, there are massive savings on the older sets. The Ultra Stealth Raider for roughly £30 off for example.
  8. Image of Salazar for comparison; Seems the Brickheadz figure went with grey, light grey and white while the character is more black, dark grey and light grey.
  9. The UK have had the Detroit Steel Strikes and the Hulk Vs Red Hulk set since around January - yet we dont get the GOTG 2 sets till March... =s Seems really silly to me. As a sidenote, had a backorder for the Avengers Spaceship set and there were a few weird things about it. The Window piece didnt go flat so you could'nt close it, and the Iron Man head got tightly stuck onto the torso. Luckily i managed to remove the head piece and loosen the connection however they are aware that the window piece used for the cockpit is having issues and offering replacements.
  10. In the stores I've visited they tend to just get the more visually interesting sets and parents tend to go for what is affordable and what looks suitable for the age range. I can easily see a parent buying a kid Garmadon's shark instead of the tank-like vehicle that Zane has... As for the set balancing, kind of links into why I think it'd be best if they varied in complexity rather than size. Lego will probably want to space these out over varying amounts to target the different customers, yet that does not necessarily mean that they need to be in increasing size's. Alternatively they could provide multiple vehicles in a single set (An optioned mentioned by NotMegalodon). We've confirmation of at least 11 sets and the theorised nature of those is as follows; 6 of which are expected to be the Ninja Vehicles 1 of which is expected to be Garmadon's shark 1 of which is expected to be based around a Ninja HQ/Command Centre/Destiny's Bounty Pretty much what i am expecting; Garmadon's shark for example could include the flying thing's that are shown carrying it. Cole's vehicle for example could include the crab-vehicle it crushes. Kai's vehicle for example could include the flying vehicle he burned. Basically things like that to balance out the price tag while retaining effectively a similar scale to the sets. Otherwise we'll end up getting a massive Dragon set that dwarfs every other set in the theme and it'd look ridiculous when shown as a group. It'd be an impressive set, but would'nt really encourage people to get the whole group. 'Mature' is not quantifiable and its subjective. Due to the vagueness of the comments it told us nothing about the sets. As for the minimum price, it'll probably end up like the Lego Batman Movie with sets in every level - with the higher tier sets being the more expensive sets for the Ninja's. We know there are at least 11 sets, and they could honestly space those out with $10 marks if they wanted.
  11. I'd say yes except for the small piece going just over the face. If you sanded that off or something then perhaps... it would work; This is just the one side of the figure mirrored, but hopefully gives an idea of how sanding the hair piece might look - and how accurate it would be to Peter Capaldi.
  12. Thanks :3 We should find out in two days or so. Ghost characters are going to be interesting, one from the trailer is invisible except for a hat. Brickheadz may give us an idea of what they are going for though as most of them are similar to the minifigures we get.
  13. Unsure the reasoning, but seems accurate to the film portrayal (In regards to the lack of an ear) Edit; 1000th post, woop :P
  14. I believe that the remark was a general rule from Phred given that most leaks are either blurry or have a confidential logo and often blurry images provide no information. In this case the incredibly blurry image is official and released in an official capacity by the calendar image for March, HOWEVER, with NYTF coming up shortly and the official unvieling of the set so close i expect it was not reposted here because we'll get a better image. We have'nt really been able to decipher much from the blurry image other than it being a ship so, by Phred's comments, discusson for the set would be in the other thread until we get a non-blurry image then it'd be discussed here.
  15. I doubt this set is kid focused when its $199.95, but you have a good point with your remarks on why the ship was likely chosen.
  16. In my view the reasoning could be along the lines of the following; The ships have more recogniseability and are featured more in the movie than specific locations. From the trailer and the extended superbowl spot we also have'nt been shown any locations in detail that could forseeably be made into sets. We are also only really aware of about 6 or 7 characters, so releasing one ship with all of them makes sense. When people think 'Pirates' they tend to think 'Pirate Ship' so it also appeals at a more basic level. If its popular we could potentially get more sets later (considering we got a few from the previous movies in 2011 due to the popularity/license) At the moment it makes more sense to give us the ship.
  17. Guessing, i hoped that would be clear by the phrasing. I just hid it for space given all the images.
  18. I'm interested to see if we get a new Spider-man figure with a fixed Spider design. Shocker and Vulture better look good. Only three days or so now.
  19. The problem is each vehicle is seemingly singular piloted and in an ideal world they would need to be in-scale with each other to replicate scenes from the film - so to do them right either they would all need to be expensive sets or they would all need to be scaled down.
  20. Well, you were right in regards to the Pirates of the Caribbean Brickheadz. We've gotten official images of them today, even if Lego has not officially announced them yet.
  21. Main requirements are the following seven; 1. Salazar 2. Jack Sparrow 3. Hector Barbossa 4. Will Turner 5. Henry 6. Carina Smyth 7. Ghostly crew member Just give us those with full printing including arms and legs and i'll be satisified with the figure line-up. If they wanted to expand, perhaps Gibb's and a few variants of the ghostly crewmembers for army-building. 10 figures would be great though. Just as long as we get the core six characters which the film will revolve around, plus a generic ghostly crew member. Hopefully we do see it tomorrow, really interested in seeing how they do it.
  22. Pricing is not as bad as i thought it would be. Glad we've got confirmation that its the Silent Mary. Hopefully we get pictures sooner rather than later. Well... NYTF is 18th-21st. It could be revealed in person on the 21st at the toy fair or if its a day after then it could be the 22nd via official images online.
  23. To be fair the Marvel 2017 sets skip a number also (believed to be from another theme) - so its possible that 70619 might not be a Ninjago Movie set. Thanks, at least i suppose we'll have time to plan purchases and things
  24. Shall probably get this for the figures, as it'll be cheaper to get the set than to bricklink the individual figures (shipping is a pain) but the set itself just doesnt appeal to me. The ship is accurate in shape but basic in piece and the tree with the wreck of the Milano sort of feels like an after-thought.
  25. Spoilered speculative thoughts on the potential names; Either way, as long as we get the Ninja Vehicle's i'm not too fussed. If they were revealed at the NYTF, when would they be released? Just wondering. I think Cole's is more innovative. Kai's is probably what i'd army build though.
