  1. With everything so far we've seen, i'm concerned we might get a transparent one-piece hull as a base and things built around that.
  2. There are four cannons visible on the front, two on either side. I've looked at the ship from a few angles and there seems to be a few cannons underneath where they would normally be, except they dont have anything suspending them because it is a ghost ship.
  3. NYTF should give us some info on the sets hopefully, but i'm uncertain if we'll get much. The next revealed DCEU set would probably be the Wonder Woman set. Though we did not see the box art for this set, we are aware of what it contains thanks to Delta_customs. The film, being released in June, makes sense for the set to be the first we hear more news on. Though because it apparently contains the main villain of her film, who has not yet been shown, its possible it wont be revealed anytime soon. At the moment we've seen the box art of the Justice League sets, but it would'nt be too wise to reveal them at this stage. We have barely seen any of the locations, we still have'nt seen how/where Superman returns and we still have'nt seen Steppenwolf or the Parademons revealed yet in the trailers. As such i doubt DC would want the reveal of the villain to come in a Lego set shown over 6 months prior to the film.
  4. I think the best and most suprising feature is the ability to move the main body of the build backwards to insert the figure into the front, it adds a bit more playability and its a cool feature that i think would be nice to impliment on most sets. Depends... they could be placed in regards to damage the vehicle recieves in the movie during a specific scene or damage it already has given it appears to be a mining vehicle.. Though i understand your point about the battle damage, and if its not in the movie then i suppose placement does not matter as much. With that said though, the box art will forever bug many of us who want it to look like its shown.
  5. So we got Thor Ragnarok movie concept art, and it gives us a bit of a look at Thor, Hela, Loki and Gladiator Hulk. Given this has been released now, i think its more likely we'll see a Thor Ragnarok set. I've spoiler tagged it but primarily it just gives us a look at character designs. Observations; - Thor looks like he will end up getting two different torso prints - one for the gladiator set, the other for the boat set. The helmet would probably need to be a new design. - Hulk will probably end up with one arm being silver/printed along with half the chest like the intial concept art, given that would be the version which Lego gets to work off. Doubt Lego would give the helmet for him. - Loki looks similar enough to his previous versions that we could end up seeing just the same figure, hopefully he'll be in battle-armour or something for the other set - Hela's flowing shadow cape will probably be included with a basic cape piece, i'm unsure how Lego will do the helmet. Her armour is a bit generic.
  6. Yeah, i ended up getting a few of the Rocket polybag sets (the one with a groot sappling) and took the printed arms from two of them, giving them to Starlord and Gamora. Now Starlord, Gamora and Rocket all have the same outfit with arm printing while Drax just retains his shirtless appearance with his arm printing. The new cockpit is actually inferior to the old one looking at the video, it can fit four figures, but it's not as large it just removes the seats to create space. The below video gives a basic idea of simple but effective mods to the old Milano to make it more accurate and it massively improves the cockpit with simple changes, and it allows for the dual reclining seats at the front, plus it looks like it does'nt change much of the original design so you'd be able to easily transplant the window piece from the new set to the old.
  7. Makes sense that they will probably include a Garmadon variant, i'm also expecting afro-fiancé and the bride - though not interested in getting those. Nya's vehicle set if kept in scale with the movie would effectively be the 'Striking Venom' Cole's vehicle set if kept in scale with the movie would effectively be the 'Ultra Stealth Raider' The rest are difficult to place. I could see the scaling down of Zane's tank quite a bit, for one its got four rows of tank treads (two on either side) Kai's mech could go virtually anywhere. kind of expecting it to be the middle-ground that most people will buy, Garmadon's shark vehicle would probably be around the same middle pricing point. Jay's flying vehicle seems to be fairly far back in the group shots, so not expecting that to be given a large set. Lloyd's dragon is ridiculous in scale and detail and he's the main character so chances are it'll be the most expensive set.
  8. I'm not the biggest fan of the newer suits regardless, so chances are i'll just stick to the first movie's suits (which i managed to find nice arms with printing)
  9. Snake Dragon does look epic :3 Lloyd should be easy to get, he's the main character in this film and chances are high that he'll be in multiple sets. Wu or Garmadon are my best for the more difficult to acquire. Fingers crossed we'll see them in five or so days. Can see the resemblence, think that both are intended to draw inspiration from Japanese dragons. Making the dragon mechanical was probably done so that it could be injured or have pieces lost during battles without people worrying about it being alive. Given the structure of the Lego movies we've seen at the moment a 'defeat' scene where one or more mech's are destroyed seems likely. I dont believe that Ninjago is borrowing elements from Power Rangers, however, as mentioned prior i would be interested in seeing them combine to show they are a team. Especially given Lloyd seems to be acting a bit seperately from the group and has a lot to go through, learning to work as a team could be nice. I currently plan on getting all the main Ninja vehicles they do for this line so combining them is definitely something i am interested in attempting.
  10. Well chances are you wont have to wait too long for the reveal - as mentioned prior its probably going to be revealed this month given it's early access in March. If you want, return to this topic the weekend and we'll probably have more official info. Same, i've never brought a Pirate Ship set before, but this could be my first if it looks creepy and well-built. Eh... depends. Sometimes Lego sets contain movie spoilers and are released beforehand. I guess it depends what you view as a spoiler. For example the set could contain
  11. Yeah. No back compartment is definitely a massive disappointment. It really does feel like they ran out of allocated pieces and decided to just add a bunch of play features instead. It's overall inferior to the previous version other than having a more accurate colour scheme for a few characters and the vehicle and a large cockpit. Maybe when it drops price it might be worth it. I think the key difference is that people wanted a UCS Milano, something that could fit all the Guardians and have a back compartment while looking impressive. Its similar to the desire people have for a new Quinjet, they want as accurate as possible. The smaller versions are'nt something that i've seen anyone ask for, and i think they are primarily a way of giving more 'playable' sets in terms of 'swooshing' The top piece sliding backwards to allow access to the cockpit is a great piece of design work that i dont believe we've seen before in Lego. Rather than opening the see-through dome, instead you just slide back the top piece, insert a figure and then it locks them in. Its a bit more sci-fi than just an opening dome piece. Kind of gives an 'anime mech' vibe. Might end up using this idea for a few mech builds as it's a nice play feature and means you dont necessarily have to rely on having an opening front compartment.
  12. Actual pictures came from the German Toy Fair i believe, we'll probably see the sets on display at NYTF aswell. Link for pics.
  13. I've seen sites like Amazon selling it for about a 1/3 off - so might be best looking around if you do decide on getting the lair. I dont believe we are getting a base for the villains this year other than the vehicle and the colossus. I would note however that you'll have more time to get the new stuff before its retired/difficult to find while the old stuff is more likely to be on sale at the moment and starting to disappear from shelves to be replaced with new stuff. 18th-21st February. We should expect to see the Summer wave of sets given we've already had the box art images appear via leakers.
  14. We should definitely see it this month, normally VIP early access sets are revealed just before the end of the month preceeding release (E.g. March VIP Early access implies a February reveal) In the case of this set, NYTF seems likely. Though they may wait till after the NYTF ends and then just release official images showing the figures and the build - similar to the UCS Helicarrier, sometimes they want the first images shown to be official ones. Hopefully the build of the ship is good and 'haunted' looking.
  15. Yeah, would probably prefer to have the fur piece printed on the torso and get a helmet for Vulture. The wings are the main concern at the moment, they need to look good otherwise I don't think the figure would work well. Hopefully we'll get an unveiling with the NYTF
  16. I believe Lego are going with 'The Villain' approach for the ships of the POTC theme; POTC 1 - Black Pearl (Released in 2011) primarily commanded by Captain Jack or Hector Barbossa POTC 2 - Flying Dutchman, commanded by Davy Jones and later by Will Turner POTC 3 - The Endeavour, commanded by Lord Cutler Beckett POTC 4 - Queen Anne's Revenge (Released in 2011), commanded by Blackbeard and later by Hector Barbossa POTC 5 - The Silent Mary (Expected to be released in 2017), commanded by Salazar Noteably 'The Flying Dutchman' could be given a set at some stage given we clearly see it return in the extended TV spot previously shown in this topic - meaning it'll appear in POTC 5 and potentially POTC 6 with new characters including Will Turner and others that could justify a set. If they go for '1 more ship' then 'The Flying Dutchman' with Will Turner is the way to go. If they do that then we'll have four of the five main villain ships for the movies. The Endeavour being destroyed and having limited screentime is unlikely to get a set.
  17. Any chance of a better look inside the vehicle's airlock compartment? Could'nt see better pics of it on Brickshelf
  18. Pretty good design/layout. The little bit of ocean enables re-enacting quite a few scenes and the tree's are a nice touch. Only suggestion i have would be adding a door or something to the base so you can give the impression of it opening or closing depending on the scene you are portraying.
  19. True, was just saying the latest i could see them keep the sets hidden.
  20. I did not 'ruin it for the rest'. You are simply abiding by the rules which you were already aware of and if you have issue with that take it up with EB (moderators), dont blame me for your decision not to share hints about leaks and potentially get banned due to the policy when you could barely give hints according to the policy by your own admission. I never mentioned the policy in my previous comment, nor did i ask for anything that breaks the policy. All i asked was " if you have no plans to share information then why bother stating you've seen them?" I solely questioned the strange decision you made to tell everyone you'd seen the sets and then to tell us you were'nt going to give us information. You chose to alert staff to the idea of you seeing the sets... then when asked why you said this, you kick-off, blame me and withdraw plans to give hints. Surely people like Sir Von Lego and Kevii23 understand that saying "I've seen the sets" automatically puts them into a more difficult position. There are other reporters on the sets who manage to find ways to give us infromation off-EB or simply a clearer message. I'm greatful when we get clearer messages, but vague hints as to whether the sets look like they are made for kids, teens or adults that require people to question him what he meant (currently twice) are'nt the way to do it. I understand the difficulty of reporting on this, but being increasingly vague just causes speculation which apparently is disliked by EB (Moderators) - you seem to acknowledge this also as all your questions are more concrete and would give us specific details if they could be answered. ===== Here are some weird/interesting things from the Lego Ninjago Movie trailer. - Robot building - Dim Sum Restaurant - Angry/hurt Garmadon face - 'Ninja Girl' and 'Nya' as the first and second score in a game, Kai appears to take the other spots. Noticeably the number 5 spot is missing. - Scissors hanging on a wall with a bunch of metallic tools - 'Bass' logo and buttons on the command room of Cole's mech - Noticeably grass, water, plants and tree's are all realistic, could this be signs of a shift to a more humanoid environement after the transition from Lego Water to Water from 'The Lego Movie' to 'The Lego Batman Movie'
  21. Yeah, scaling down is definitely going to be necessary. Lloyd's Dragon, assuming it is actually to scale with the Lego figures, could'nt really be set-accurate without being about 60cm in length and having a considerable amount of tail spikes. (Yes its bent in this image, so it would probably be slightly longer) Seems a bit of a pointless comment then; - No confirmation of anything - Refuses to share information - No hints or direction towards the sets we are getting other than the obvious If you have seen the sets, either share details or dont. Simply claiming to have seen them surely just derails the topic with people asking you to share info, and similar to the Star Wars topic, if you have no plans to share information then why bother stating you've seen them?
  22. Spider-man Homecoming is released in July, so i expect they could probably keep the Lego sets hidden until then. Though given we already got descriptions via Delta_Customs, that would probably imply they are going to be revealed fairly soon, right? =s
  23. Even without the instructions, i'm fairly sure most 'broken' builds that Lego makes can be repaired by buying a duplicate or so.
  24. I think they partially combined Exo-Force with Ninjago, could explain the weird changes to facial features and hair styles. Plus several of the vehicles seem to be inspired by Exo-Force; - Kai's Mech seems inspired by 'The Grand Titan' - Nya's Spider-walker is effectively 'Striking Venom' So, here are my expectations for the 11 sets we are expected to get; 1 - Crab-walker; 2 - Manta-ray-bomber; 3 - Lobster crawler; 4 - Destiny's Bounty; 5 - Garmadon Shark-mech; 6 - Nya's Spider-walker; 7 - Jay's flying vehicle; 8 - Cole's Quake Roller; 9 - Kai's Mech; 10 - Zane Tank; 11 - Lloyds Dragon; Also, a collection of the villain figures i've seen and Garmadon variants; Also... a reminder, what we see in the movie will probably be made smaller or reduced in terms of size or pieces to make it a viable set. Personally i'm just hoping that the film goes full mech-anime on us and all the mech's combine during the final battle. Either way, shall be looking into doing just that with the sets
  25. Beautiful looking. The ship reminds me of the ship from Thor; The Dark World.
