LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion
Scarilian replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I'm not a fan of the faces or the hair style for any of them -
Here are the figure we should probably expect for the Justice League sets. - One set might be the 'Wonder Woman' set containing Wonder Woman, Steve Trevor and a giant-man sized Ares. - Three sets, probably mirroring the same pricing as the GOTG Vol 2 sets. Figures; Batman - Member of the league Wonder Woman - Member of the league Cyborg - Member of the league Superman - Member of the league Aquaman - Member of the league Flash - Member of the league Steppenwolf - Big-bad for the league to fight, probably a 'big-fig' Parademon - Generic flying henchmen for the league to fight, likely to be heavily prominent in the movie Alfred - Flies the Flying Fox At the moment we have a minimum of 9 figures and depending on what happens with the Wonder Woman set, we may only have two sets to disperse these over unless there is an additional set we have not been shown. I'm not sure Mera belongs in that line-up especially given she might be more of a cameo role than Alfred. Everything mentioned about the character including by the actress is that she is only in for a cameo appearance at Atlantis to set-up Aquaman, so i would'nt class her as a 'hero' when as far as we know she does nothing. It makes more sense to include Mera in a potential singular 2018 set that has Mira, Aquaman and either Ocean Master or Black Manta depending who the main villain is - to coincide with the Aquaman movie.

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
Scarilian replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
The Silent Mary, as mentioned, makes the most sense. Its the villains ship after all and easily the most interesting design and likely to be the most prominent ship in the movie. We did not get the Flying Dutchman simply because they had to choose between the Flying Dutchman and the Black Pearl for the first wave of sets they did and the Black Pearl was more iconic. Queen Anne's Revenge made sense next because it was the villains ship for the fourth film. The Silent Mary makes the most sense. Its the villain's ship for the fifth film and its design could provide lots of play features. Especially considering its could appeal to the artistic Lego collectors given its based on 'The Phantom Ship' -

Its a common phrase meaning to reset back to the start. In this case, we've lost information we had that turned out to be fake, so Trajic Banjo is saying that we'll need to go back and rethink. ==== Now in terms of information, as far as i can tell the only thing we've heard that may be official is the following; - 11 Ninjago Movie sets - 20 figures in the Ninjago CMF range - There will be 'BIG' sets similar to the Temple Of Airjitzu -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 17 Rumors and Discussion

Honestly, unsure how they will divide the league in the sets, at minimum its going to probably end up being two heroes per set and the big set is going to have to have Superman. The Parademons will be interesting to see, unsure how they'll portray them - minifigure form i guess maybe with new wings pieces Steppenwolf will likely end up being a big-fig if they keep his previously shown design. They could probably mod the big-fig comic book inspried Thanos i suppose. He'd be in the biggest set, most likely based on the Flying Fox, with Superman added because chances are Superman wont appear until the Steppenwolf battle. Unfortunately this seems unlikely, the remark was made when sharing information on Aquaman and could be a refrence to the 'Seven Seas' - the main plot people believe the Aquaman film will be about will be taking command over the Seven seas in a similar sense to Thor having to take command over the Nine realms. At the moment we only know that Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg are in this movie as heroes.

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
Scarilian replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
I like the concept of the Ghost shark, the additional changes to the Shark mold are nice - but i'm not a fan of that Shark mold in particular as it just seems sort of like a whale shark and not as intimidating. I'm guessing the unique Shark is going to be one of the selling points for the set. As for those debating about the ship its based on, why would'nt it be based on The Silent Mary? I mean, its the villains ship and chances are it'd create the most opportunities for a ghostly looking appearance to it that Lego would be able to give features to or create a 'broken/shipwrecked' appearance that will force the most die-hard fan into buying a second set to see how it would look completed. -

Seems Mantis's antenna are taller than expected, maybe they grow, but does make the figure slightly more accurate with the longer antenna.

LEGO Nexo Knights 2017 Discussion

So where is the Knighton Rider set available? Any words on distribution? Particularly the UK? -
It was a weird somewhat silly mostly harmless video until Tahu burned the pirates alive in a boat. "Who will the pirates attack next?" Well Tahu just killed them all, burned them to death and sent the ship to the bottom of the ocean.

I dont particularly mind two large sets, we tend to get better vehicles and structures in the more expensive sets and it reduces the need for extra sets based on lower price ranges. That said, it probably wont sell too well amongst the target audience of younger fans who primarily tend to go after the cheaper sets. Though admittedly, being the third in the trilogy and with no prior sets for that movie series - perhaps Thor's Lego sets are not going to be too focused at targetting younger members. Personally the only aspect i'm perplexed about is Hela, her helmet/crown is too intricate to be represented in Lego form, so i expect they will cut it down to size a bit. Interested to see what they do.

From the back of the box art we can see it can fit four minifigures in the front - which is honestly enough considering Groot in his large scale would'nt fit and his smaller scale version will likely be able to fit in the ship somewhere (This particular image with circle comes from CM4Sci) Though the new design (above) is admittedly smaller and likely wont be as spacious in other areas such as the back compartment, i believe the intention here was primarily to get all four figures in the cockpit while the previous version (below) was designed to fit three figures. Neither version appears to be accurate, given the GOTG 2 Milano was stated as being almost identical to the first, so neither has gotten the cockpit right - as it is meant to have two up-front and one behind - with room for five figures. For those looking to customise their own, i'd suggest the following with the same style front design of this MOC (Unfortunately cannot locate creator) to get the two seats at the front, replace the two back seats with a single middle seat and add the window piece from the GOTG 2 set;

Chance are they will judge based on sales. If the Ideas set sold well enough then give it a year approximately for them to design and make the sets and we'll see Lego Doctor Who in late 2018.
-
If they follow the movie they have a choice of Thor, Hulk, Captain America or Iron Man for the robbers. I would be very suprised if they did not use the new Iron Man mask as a mask for one of the robbers. The over-sized nature would work well as implying the robber's are using a kid's mask and it would contrast nicely with the live-action movie Iron Man mask that we may be getting in the other set (Hopefully they keep the previous mask design for the live-action movie versions of Iron Man) The other choice would probably be Hulk or Captain America instead of Thor, as Thor does not particularly have a goofy head to use - i'm leaning more towards Captain America given they could use the basic comic-book style Captain America mask with the skintone error that made him look pale. Probably throw a hair piece on him to ensure kids understand he's not meant to be Captain America. I'm expecting something akin to this image by Lehanikus on Flickr. Feel this is one of the better brick-built representations we could hope for - though i expect we'll get a new piece for the wings.

I've seen sets on 'retiring soon' for several months, just seems a bit of a coincidence that the set goes to retired on the precise day of the Peter Capaldi announcement - and it still seems odd that Lego have an official Amazon group that sells retired sets nowadays as higher prices... Doctor Who at its peak in the revived series was arguably around series 3-4 where the series became so popular that they decided to film some episodes in America. They later did the same thing in Season 6 and i believe a few episodes sinces. There is a market for Doctor Who in the US, but the US is larger and generally easier for people to miss seeing the sets sell. I feel there is a large enough market for Lego to do a Doctor Who set or two - primarily they would benefit from a collectable minifigure series of the incarnations of the Doctor which would easily become highly valued amongst the community.

All three of these listed are already out in certain locations, the UK for example already has these. Though March does seem like a good guess for when the GOTG 2 sets will appear.

1 - I asked clearly if the brickset list with descriptions was correct, and i get effectively called a liar for stating what was on the list at the time. 2 - Everyone decided to not explain why they felt we were only getting two sets, leading me to believe everyone was just speculating based solely on the two descriptions we recieved 3 - Someone asks for clarity from Delta as to why he believes there are only two and he explains he 'heard' that we were only getting two sets for Homecoming. As such what is someone who has never encountered Delta before going to believe? A website devoted to Lego that occasionally released official information before other sources and has a massive database that includes the set numbers and pricing for sets OR a few descriptions from a source that claims to have 'heard' there were only two sets. I thought the website would be accurate because of the more likely release of official information compared to a leaker i am not personally familiar with. The leaker now seems like a more trustworthy source but the reply is still vague so its difficult to really put faith into, i'm sure others who have been more active know the leaker better, but i do not as my first comment here recently was to clarify what sets we are getting and it spiralled into this mess. The only 'facts' that exist come from a source that cannot verify anything other than 'heard it' - may be 100% accurate, but you can hopefully see my reasoning.

I do admit that it appears Brickset were innacurate or are unreliable in this scenario. It is still possible according to users here for this to flip-flop given the numbering, it seems odd to have the other Thor Ragnarok set appear to have a number that is four away from the recent category changed set. It still seems strange to me that the two Thor Ragnarok sets would both be in the higher tier cost range (EU: 54.99€ and EU: 69.99€) - it practically excludes the main price range that the target audience opperate at. Normally we get three tier price ranges so having the two most expensive movie-based Marvel sets both be for Thor Ragnarok is a perplexing choice. A majority of what Brickset has is accurate and it seems only rare cases that we get innacuracies such as this. It does not change the actions of users who took to dismissing it and acting rudely without bothering to try to contact Brickset, despite the three sets being listed on the site for weeks/months. Nothing that Delta reported on confirmed or denied the existence of a third set, he only confirmed the existence of two for Spider-man; Homecoming and two for Thor; Ragnarok. Confirming a minimum of two doesnt automatically dismiss the existence of three. The act of Brickset moving it can also not be viewed as confirmation given it has now proven Brickset as an unreliable source.

Star Wars Constraction 2017 Discussion and Rumors
Scarilian replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Figures are disappointing, i'd hoped for more new armour pieces. The bike is 'ok' though looks like its primarily made for 'swooshing' and this could weaken it as a display piece as some have shown interest in it being. I think at this stage they've practically perfected the basic design in terms of a humanoid CCBS figure in terms of coverage with armour, primarily thanks to the gearbox armour piece, shoulder curved pieces and leg armour. At this stage they would probably be best introducing newer characters and occasionally adding a new piece here and there - unsure if vehicles are the way to go. -
Its primarily because of Capaldi leaving. When the actor announces they are leaving the demand to buy the sets rises, Lego S@H goes to 'retired' while the official Lego company selling the set through Amazon remains at original asking price and will likely shoot up. Demand increases -> Limit supply -> Cause customers to pay more to get it
-
Getting a lot of comments saying how much Brickset flip flops, but if people feel that is the case then we have a set listing that is unexplained currently listed with the Spider-man Homecoming sets. If you want to know for sure then ask, but this is getting us all nowhere. Once again, the query becomes whether Captain Unicorn would have been privy enough to see a third set that could potentially be in production and/or be spoiler filled. I'm unsure how they would have seen the sets, but i doubt Lego would reveal a set that could spoil a twist in the movie. Regardless, rather than just state over and over that you dont believe it... take action and actually contact Brickset - they likely have a source and if this is simply mislabelled then it would be interesting to see where that set actually belongs.

So rather than just saying 'Brickset can be wrong' - put some effort into it and contact Brickset yourself if you feel the database is innacurate this time. They have multiple methods of contacting them if you or anyone else feels this is innacurate bring it up with them and lets have it confirmed instead of just constantly dismissing it. Everyone seems happy to bash the idea of a third set because we only got descriptions for two, yet this is precisely what happened with the Civil War sets and we still got the additional set. There are a lot of reasons why Delta Custom's might not have information on the third set and everyone seems to have latched onto the idea that 'the sets described are the only one's that will happen'.
