  1. Have you ever had an idea for a cool mechanism and Incorporated it into a set because it was so cool. Or do the looks always come first? Is their any part you've wanted to use, but haven't.
  2. I got the ghostbusters house day 1 hour 1, and that wasn't until late morning Australian time, so I expect they just flip the switch for lots of countries at the same time.
  3. After 60 something pages I just have one question. Will this be the highest number of pages in the instructions of any Lego set? My gut feel is yes.
  4. What a beauty. Love the photo with the open clamshells.
  5. That's looking good. You've got a lambo vibe going on there. Perhaps some trapezoidal intakes at the front.
  6. Nice. Not a lot to do with then yet, but the brick yellow panels might make a nice seat for something 80's. Maybe a testarossa? Now all we need is fake wood panelling panels.
  7. Seems like the start of a good great ball (rock) contraption to me.
  8. Well this is my third MOC. It's approximately a 1977 HZ Sandman panel van. It was the 70's in Australia, so lairy graphics and goodies style fonts were standard. Two kinds of people bought sandman's. Tradie's and surfers. Surfers loved them because you could fit surfboards in the back, without needing roofracks. The other think you could fit easily in the back was a mattress. More than a few Australian children of the 70's and 80's were conceived in the back of a sandman. The real ones look like this: My lego one has the following features: Opening doors, bonnet, tailgate and rear window. Live axle rear suspension Front independent suspension Steering wheel and TOG (tailpipe of god) steering 4 + R gearbox V8 engine (thanks jorgeopesi) Lairy graphics Removable body So the lego one looks like this: 2015-08-23 12.14.28 by Russell Murphy, on Flickr 2015-08-23 12.16.36 by Russell Murphy, on Flickr 2015-08-23 12.17.05 by Russell Murphy, on Flickr 2015-08-23 12.18.32 by Russell Murphy, on Flickr 2015-08-23 12.15.58 by Russell Murphy, on Flickr And you can see more on my Flickr: Keen to see what everyone thinks.
  9. Well, they say you learn more from your mistakes than anything else. I don't know if I would call this a failure, but I am certainly abandoning it. My concept was to have the bulldozers sides come down, and form the armor of the tank. But I'm just not feeling it. I don't think the bulldozer was going to look any good. There's probably a not bad my first lego tank in there. Here's the final state: 2015-08-09 15.58.07 by Russell Murphy, on Flickr
  10. So it took me a little time to figure out what I would do for TC7. I'm still not sure, but at least I have a concept. Presenting the Boom-dozer My tc7 work in progress by Russell Murphy, on Flickr The basic concept is that the base stays the same, and the top transforms in some way to become a tank. Maybe the bulldozer arms could become some sort of armor. Who knows. Hopefully I'll figure it out. I've used the subtractor from Sariel's excellent unofficial lego technic builder guide (http://sariel.pl/201...-available-now/) as a base. My 42048 bulldozer and crawler have provided donor parts. Not sure which functions will be automated, except for propulsion. I think at this stage I'll be an enforcer, but depends on how far my white parts extend. I'll update as I get further.
  11. MASK. Now I get it. 80's nostalgia rising. I'll get right on it.
  12. Jim, I really the idea for this contest. I have absolutely no idea what to build. I also applaud having pro and amateur divisions. It might take a little while to figure out who should be in what. Can I suggest that those in the hall of fame might nominally be in the pro division. One question: is manual attaching of things (with pins) permitted as part of the transformation?
  13. Couldn't agree more. Though taking it apart is probably a close second
  14. That's cool dude. It looks like you took some inspiration from the 4x4 crawler. The one thing that does stand out is the front grille (quite literally). Any way you could make it recessed or flush with the rest of the front?
  15. I've managed to fill in a few of the haunted gaps, but 5571, 8458 and 8461 will probably haunt me till I win lotto.
  16. I'm building a moc at the moment that uses a few #3 connectors in red. When it is finished I will have to decide whether I can live without them being red, since most of them are grey stand ins. And if my model's ever get so popular they cause a run on the market, well I don't build them for you to build, I build them for me to build. Use my ideas and make something of your own.
  17. Lovely. I bit one last night, but I just have to order the cam Pieces.
  18. Thanks for sharing. So much of Lego is building things which are real and complicated in real life without having specialised tools and it's cool to see the same for camera equipment. Theres so much professional quality work being done for something that is a very easy to enter pastime.
  19. It is extremely perfect. I would love to see this on Lego ideas. In a couple of years time everyone will be ready for a new f1 car.
  20. Welcome back!!!! Love both mocs, but I have to say the front of the cuv is spectacular.
  21. That's my holden ute moc. There's a topic about it on euro bricks somewhere, just not easy to find from the phone. You can also see more photos of it on my Flickr.
  22. Finally got around to taking a photo of my collection. PANO_20150502_130003 by veryrusty82, on Flickr Had to take a panorama of my rumpus room. Two and a half of the walls are covered by Ikea Expedit shelves. The top three layers of cubes are reserved for lord business my collection, while the bottom three are for my son's system lego. As for my building space, it's on my couch, with my two containers of parts.
  23. I like this project immensely. You can't like it any other way!
