  1. No, all active and licensed ships are listed in the monthly summary. Sadly no images included, you'll have to click on the links for the threads. More about ships here.
  2. So far LDD builds were allowed in every challenge, but they were exempt from winning physical prices (someone correct me if I'm wrong). @LM71Blackbird Looking forward to your stuff, what you have on flickr looks interesting! Pick the right faction ;)
  3. I think given your long inactivity we happened to forget it. @Phred should be able to handle refunds for you. Given that you need to license all your vessels again with the new ship classes, you can, off course, show the newer, larger Antigone's Fury and license it appropriately. Looking forward to your new vessel; if you want to you are free to share your Progress in the Shipwrights Guild Hall for some quick feedback* For the other stuff your faction is probably a better advisor then I am ;) *most of the time
  4. yeah, the ironsides. Your post made me lose my edited in parts :( Oh well... Ship sloop - still missing sails, I can understand that problem. Having the same with one of my vessels here, maybe not for quite as long - yet Galleon - more interesting update; I think the general shape is decent, though I think the widest part (18 studs wide I'm guessing) could be shifted a bit further forward; though it would still be just fine either way. The beak and stern still have their issues - the addition of dark green is fine and adds a fine accent (though it would probably be great if it would also appear elsewhere - maybe around the stern somewhere?), but the shape could be better. Let's take a look at a random Galleon: You see how massive that part is? It shouldn't be flimsy and tiny (which it is for now). You can find lots of other examples with similar shapes, and the general triangle shape is usually shared between all of them. Also note - above the beak, there is no more of the round shape of the bow - it rather starts in the round shape of the bow and goes outward basically. I don't think the bow of my Galleon is a perfect example here, but I think it shows how the general shape can be achieved. The stern - too many colours for my taste. You have brown, black, gold, red, white and tan there. I would try to limit the colours in a single area (galleries, decorative plate ontop) to a maximum of 3 (I think you can maybe skip the gold completely - either use a boatload of it or none works best most of the time). Not quite sure about the angled windows, but I think that can work with some more details around them, but do you even need that many? Lastly, I think it would look much better if you just continued the hull up instead of suddenly moving to angled slopes 1 stud in. I hope I didn't take it apart completely here, I hope to see some progress sooner then later :D (If you are looking for pictures of Galleons etc - check out Modernknight's Albums on flickr
  5. Ah, that month long discussion we had ages ago? This is my initial suggestion from ages ago, but I think in general it should still apply: Class 0 - comparable to rowing boatClass 1 - small custom hull, very light construction if it is a small prefabClass 2 - no mid, or 1 mid very lightClass 3 - 1 or 2 mids (Example Phreds vessel & La Salamandra)Class 4 - 2 mids if it has a covered gundeck (example El Matador), 3 mids if not (Example Lady Jacqueline). Generally the upper limit for small hulls due to width.Class 5 - 3 or 4 mids (Examples: Capt Wolfs smaller Galleons/Bregirs Postship. Bregirs might be longer, but Capt Wolfs Galleons look bigger.Class 6 - 4 or 5 midsections. Ayrlegos Galleon, Ayrlegos FrigateClass 7 - 5 or 6 (SOTL or Galleon: 5; Frigate 6; Bodi's smaller SOTL for example)Class 8 - 6+ midsections, 2+ decks (Bodis largest SOTL yet)Class 9 - 7 mids if 3 decks, else custom hull (no example yet)Class 10 - custom hull As for mentioning in the rules - we have had many issues with clarity in the rules before, and the archetypes didn't help there either. I think it would clearly be useful for everyone to have a better guideline...
  6. MAESTRO delagation: Governeur Monezterrell: Given the importance of the Prio Seas, especially Isla de Victoria we obtained recently, there is no way we can leave those seats empty. Yea! Captain Lamar Evercrees: With our headquarters in Trador it is unexcusable not to have representatives for our region. Yea! Farrucio Paraja: The ocean freezes entirely before I disagree with the Governeur and Captain on this issue! Yea!
  7. Well, there is a public list of all currently licensed ships (including links!) in the monthly summary. Faction leadership should've also provided you with a doc containing your faction members ships stats.
  8. Yeah, don't worry
  9. Given the number of entries we've gotten so far, we have decided to give everyone a couple more days to participate - new deadline is January 30.
  10. @Professor Thaum @MKJoshA While it's not a big issue with the limited number of vessels in the AMRCA, I would wish for you to doublecheck your vessels names next time - MKJoshA, you were adding a The, while the Prof missed one
  11. Not really, we have the submissions in the form responses anyways ;)
  12. Thanks a lot! That captain is just the Highwayman collectible minifig with a different head though Thanks a lot! I still wanna see your treadmill crane - there are many ways to design one, please! This one was fun to build (though it hurt a bit bending those brown flextubes ) Thanks! Thank you! Thanks again!
  13. @Phred The Settlement page of the Jan Summary broke... edit: someone unbroke it
  14. Thanks! Thanks! Someone should set up a parrot shop then (there are a total of 12 parrots in the entire build :D) I see words, you lied ;) Iā€˜m hesitating because I need the pearl gold for a larger Galleon, but I might be tempted to just order another pile of pearl gold now, as I kinda want to keep it... Thanks! Its a treadmill crane - they look just like that, and I just had to put a guy in there :P http://www.vicnewey.co.uk/mills/mills_011.htm Thanks!
  15. A month ago, a terrible storm passed over the Prio Seas, bringing many adventurers off their intended course. But off course, they couldn't be the only ones affected. A Galleon from Carno has missed Poorvintia by a long shot, and has, after losing most of her rigging in the storm, arrived in Fuerte Unido, or well, on one of the many quais spread around the cliffs of the bay. The deep water here allows even the biggest ships to get very close the coastline. Having just heard of the arrival of a vessel a size rarely seen around Fuerte Unido, Gouverneur Monezterrell and Farrucio Paraja headed out to the site to check what was going on. The crew of the vessel, decimated by trying to save more of the rigging, were already celebrating the arrival on land - they seemed like they wanted nothing more than getting off the vessel and never ever step on one again. Once the vessel had landed, Monezterrell and Paraja quickly started talking to the Captian, who identified himself as Arii KandonƩ. Captain KandonƩ shared the thought of his crew and only wanted to get rid of the vessel - probably not only because he was sick of sailing, but also because he didn't want to be the one responsible for repairing the rigging. Noting the freshly painted hull, a compromise was quickly found... More pics of the landscape and ship: Some quick background: I wasn't sure whether or not I wanted to add full rigging to this ship, I discussed with Bregir hoping to find a compromise where I save myself from the time, numbness and materials of adding rigging to a ship while still being able to license it. I hope this unlicenseable build (56x96, though half of that is water/ship) together with the hull should be enough to license the Triunfo while not rigging it up completely. As it originally started out as a 5 midsection prefab (though the lower part of those isn't there any longer), I'll license it as a class 7 as it seems comparable to the Margot in size, maybe a bit taller on the stern.
  16. @Ayrlego could always make use of the small hull, they are fun to build on
  17. I think that is the total upkeep paid so far by the player/town etc ;)
  18. Well, setting aside the discussion emerging there, I've continued on my test galleon: Again, I'm gonna redo the lowest part of the hull (getting rid of all but the bowpart of the prefabs, finish the hull, add decks, decoration, maybe add the lowest part of the masts, take pictures and tear it back down as it is merely a test for another project. And no, I can't even add some quick rigging as I'm currently out of string for rigging. @Bregir If I go fancy enough with the decks, could I get an excuse to license it anyways? I really like this ship, but the parts I'm using here were, all along, meant for a completely different ship and I need to get them back very soon. Otherwise it'll just be another ship that ends up completely forgotten in a drydock...
  19. Thanks! Almost all the time spent building it was spent on that part - the bow isn't worth showing yet, though I have a couple ideas how to go about it. Might run out of dark blue... Putting together the stern was lots of fun though :D Thanks! You have found one of the reasons I haven't continued that one in a while... :P I might just finish it and sell it off to the highest bidder out there :P Regarding licensing: Don't shoot the messenger, I've had lengthy discussions with @Bregir about this subject, go ahead and convince him that your vessels should be class 8 instead of 7. You might also make DukeSC unhappy here... Edit: timing!
  20. Could we add another 3 days to the deadline? I have lots of time to build for the next week and would like to finish a couple things and clean up my fleet, and I hope I'm not alone on this...
  21. The common agreement is that class 8+ are at least 6 midsections, so yours would probably a class 7. The example for class 7 is actually a 5 midsection 2 decker ;) What you have there already looks good, though maybe a bit tall. If you can somehow manage, try replacing at least the central part of the bulwarks with some fences to make it look less closed. Your curve going up is also a bit odd - first a 6 long part, then a 9 long one. I would recommend changing that around. Oh, and I'm not quite sure, is there any way that frigate is heavily inspired by Assassin's Creed Black Flag? Somewhat reminds me of one of the ships in that game... 1 last thing - mast placement. Look at the plans for a random SOTL: and next look at how your masts are placed. The foremast is fine, but main and mizzen should move further back. Ah, while I'm here already I might as well share a couple WIPs I still have sitting around: testing out shaping for a Galleon, started a while back, 5 midsections (though I'm getting rid of most of that as I found it impractical): probably not gonna do masts and rigging for this one as its nothing more than a simple test for the shape. Not sure what to do with it for the BOBS universe in this regard... It would be a class 7, but I find it difficult to justify a ship without rigging... My bomb ketch (2 small midsections): just missing a bit of rigging, very close to done. Was at Antwerp. Will probably finish it at some point (TM). Sitting next to my Brig. Small postship (3 small midsections, 18 + 2 guns): Haven't touched this one in a couple months as priorities were for finishing the ketch and brig for BMA. Probably gonna dig it back out soon as I really like the colours. And lastly, the forgotten Frigate. Originally the ship I was planning to use for the AMRCA, the rigging was all done and then it was set aside and forgotten - I just hate making sails. Not sure what I'm gonna do with it, because there is no way I'm making sails for this forgotten ship... Might remove the one sail it already has and go with some rolled up brickbuilt sails, as I'm certainly not tearing down any of the two ships that could donate their sails for this one...
  22. @TheCubbScout Eslandola is currently not involved in any conflicts or wars, and thus we aren't handing out Letters of Marque. If you want to, we aren't stopping you from asking other factions if they hand out Letters of Marque, but please only accept them if they don't create a conflict of interest. The simplest solution is probably simply going after the NPC pirates (Independent pirates, not the SR - we are currently not in a conflict with those. Keep your Popped' Corn ready to watch the COR/SR situation); I'm sure if you ask around someone is probably willing to pay some DBs if you manage to capture Zublious van Wreck or any of the bigger guys
  23. Iā€˜m out of Popped Corn...
  24. @Puvel The Storm had finally passed, the shelter had held up. There hadn't been much time to explore while they were out there finding the place for the basecamp; several interesting aspects had been spotted while getting there and getting the materials to build the huts. What to do now? Option 1: Continue building up your basecamp - we are here now, let's get a bit more comfortable and settled before we head out exploring! Option 2: North: Go further inland into the hills and the inland lake. What may one find here? Option 3: East: The cove appears to be home to many curious fish and corals. Go explore the reefs. Option 4: South: A wreck, looking like it has been there for centuries, had been spotted on the way here. It may not contain anything valuable to those looking for gold, but maybe something valuable for us? Option 5: West: These flowers and beetles are obviously the hallmark of this island - why not start here on the hilly slopes near the coast? Notes: A minimum of one build is required for the adventure to proceed, but more is encouraged. a map of what has been spotted is here:
  25. @Sebeus I The Storm had finally reached the North Prio Seas, and the Raging Fire had been sent far off course; after it had set a sailor in the tops noticed a town on the Horizon - it was quickly identified as Freeport. Being way off from the planned course and wanting to sell the silver, it was decided to dock there - refill cargo, sell some stuff and maybe gain some valuable information about the Flying Dutchman. It was quickly found out that interest in buying the silver for any good prices was out of question - most of those who could have been interested had already left, and the next wave of merchants wasn't expected for another month. While looking around for a potential buyer, rumors of a ghost ship popped up occasionally; apparently one had been sighted in the South Prio Seas. A) Sell them at whatever price they may achieve and get moving. We've got a Dutchman to catch! Show the transaction - who ends up buying them? B) We must unload the silver cannonballs. They take up too much weight and space. Should we bury them somewhere on the island or entrust them to someone for safekeeping? C) I'll be damned if they leave my sight without a proper price. And who knows, they may even prove useful! We shall improve the ship with studding sails to carry the extra weight at no cost in speed! Notes: You decide which way you continue; North or South? A minimum of one build is required for the adventure to proceed, but more is encouraged. Rumors:
