REVIEW: 71007 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 12
Gongoro73 replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
So. what is this about? I'm a little tired of the 'feel method'. The guys from the store I purchase minifigs look at me as If I was some kind of lunatic.- 156 replies

Probably any of those: Although, my most beloved set was (and it will be) this one, recieved for my birthday: Sadly, my mom gave my entire city layout away (and it was pretty big) as soon as I lost interest in Lego. I still dream frequently that I find my old Lego somewhere in my parent's house...

We desperately need just2good to enlighten us. :) -
Well, not impressed by any of these new sets, I'm so tired of police stuff, helicopters, rescues etc. The guy sitting in the bathroom of the service truck set makes me laugh...

Yeah, It doesn't make sense to me at all. Looks like the alley will be in the middle of the buildings. -

That would be great. Wich one? -
Great addition, Serpico. And, wow, I've just noticed "una barca de sardinas al espeto, tipicamente malagueña ¿eh? Que gran detalle." > There's a boat filled with sand on the beach that is been used as a grill to fry sardines, wich is something you can still find in in the South of Spain. Great detail.

Still just preorder here (Amazon Spain).

Jaw-dropping. Work of genius.

Wow. Amazing work, congratulations. Agree with the control tower colour issue, white parts seems a liittle bitt odd, caught too much attention to my eye. Grey would be more appropiate. Anyway, impressive display.

I would definitely arrange a deal with Apple Corps in order to make a Beatles series. Minifigures of all the different periods, vehicles (The Magical Mystery Tour bus, Lennon's hippie Rolls Royce, the Yellow Submarine...), sets of their most remembered gigs and tv appereances, buildings (Abbey Road, The Apple building with the large graffitti in the front facade, the EMI building with the fab four playing in the roof...), some record cover sets (Sgt. Pepper, Magical Mystery tour, Abbey Road...). Also, a TIntin license would be great. Endless row of characters, buildings, vehicles and situations. Finally, expand the modulars theme with some other parts of a city at the same level of detail (parks, bridges, fountains, smaller buildings, etc). Everything a city needs.

Hats off.

Thanks for the answer, Wookie. I guess I'll have to wait a little bit more, I want the printed version. Yes, I've just come back from my looong dark ages period and I'm amazed how much Lego has changed since I was a kid. Nowadays there are so many new possibilities and different building techniques that I'm a bit overwhelmed to have such a long range of options and pieces to choose from. Also overwhelmed for the money, it's so expensive these days... :)

I love this layout. It's so different beign mostly white. I find it so beautiful and peaceful, with all those one-floor buildings. Charming. I vote concrete too, it will add some nice contrast IMO, although I guess you've already begun to build it. Can't wait to see the final result, good luck.
