Amazing. I would love LEGO to return to this theme and keep the basic design and colours of these with modern building techniques and bricks. Those little things capture more spirit and character than most of the huge SW / Space crafts from today. Your project is amazing, keep on rocking. Very interesting read also regarding organizing / cleaning the bricks, as well.

Count me in on this one. But I have to add, Lego put some great minifigures in it, but not enough in my book. Every 30€ SW set gets 4 these days, and we get 4 plus an R2? Seriously, Lego? In a 120€ set? And I am not counting Jabba since he is counting towards the 850 pieces / 120€ ratio, to be fair. It would have been good to see the little crumb guy, 3PO and perhaps Han or Chewie in addition. Wouldn't have broken Legos neck on this and would have added much more value to it as a playset, so you can replay the whole scene with the Barge and the Skiff, without need to get the Palace.

Thanks for the review! I wouldn't have anything against this as a 40€ set, but 50€ for this? You gotta be a huge Episode II fan to justify this price.

Don't worry, it will have this feature.

What are the odds of a 10179 rerelease or a new Falcon UCS?
Zzz replied to merman's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I agree that it's possible now but not too soon. -
I believe we don't get another IM3 set, it would be too late. It's probably a misunderstanding and related to the Lego video game. I do believe, though, that we get another X-Men set (small), and 3 Thor2 sets corresponding to the IM3 & MoS sets in size. Same goes for the CA2 movie. (I don't believe in sets following the Agents TV series.) Bigger Marvel sets only for Avengers 2 movie I guess. Regarding a huge 200€ set for Marvel, I believe there's a possibility for that. Same possibility as for Wayne Mansion being made. And just my 2 cent - but I am kind of happy with the size and numbers of the Super Heroes sets. Take a look at SW, each wave you can spend almost 1000€ these days. It's getting old pretty fast. And I hope the SH series lives a little longer than other lines from Lego.

Wow, thanks for the pics once again, Grogall! Very nice set, but isn't there a bunch of evil looking minifigs in it for a Jedi ship? 3 of them look rather sith-ish. Not having played the game though (don't have a PC) I couldn't solve a who-is-who.

Review: The Lone Ranger 79108 - Stagecoach Escape
Zzz replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Licensed
Absolutely great review! How long did it take you in total? The set is really sweet, despite it's gigantic size compared to minifigs. But the price in EU is just a little too much in my book so I skip. If I get something from LR, it'll be probably be the Mine /Cavalry combo.- 39 replies

I got a reply from Customer Service they don't have any information about Iron patriot for Europe yet. Since the game is coming out end of October, I am not giving up hope yet. Of course there are many super heroes fans around the world and not only in the US - so I really hope they can offer that via Amazon or whomever.
-
is there any news yet on the Iron Patriot for Europe? It would not be good to have this exclusive to the US.
-
Happy for you guys in the US about the B-Wing! I'd suggest to get one even if it's not your favorite model. There won't be a 2nd chance to get it at that price. And about having it sent over, forget it. It costs 160$ more here, true, but the shipping will easily be 80$, and the tax and customs will eat up most of the rest. I'd say it's not worth it unless someone picks it up cause he's making the trip anyway.

For the amount of pieces it is not too expensive at €200 I think. Look at the new UCS X-Wing, that is just awefully expensive. Still, it could have more minifigs. If the Ent is included, why not the Hobbits? Anyhow, it might be the one set to get from LotR, it just might be. But it's not turning me into a collector of the series. As it opens the way for bigger LotR sets, I would really like to see those huge statues at the river, but I admit that the play value is zero. It just would be cool to have those on display. It's the most epic scene of the movies (not a huge fan of parts 2&3).

The store in Frankfurt / GER has all the sets - and I was surprised about how small the boxes are! Except the Mine box, which is actually pretty big in comparison. And they have a nice layout of all the sets on display.

What a great review! Compared with todays standards it looks like a Chibi version of the Slave I! And I have to admit, it's just a sweet set. It's like comparing todays City trucks with the 1980s trucks. Sure everything was smaller that days but that means it was different, and not necessarily better or worse. And what I loved most about the 1999-2001 sets was the boxes. The LSW logo was epic, and I really dislike everything that came afterwards, especially todays we-seriously-want-your-money-Mr-dumb-collector SW branding. Getting the Hoth and Endor sets in 2009 was making me remember those good days.

Ideas for New Action Themes
Zzz replied to Perry the Platypus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
OK, what about a Fantasy theme? Not like Castle with dragons and dwarfs, I mean much more Fantasy, like Conan or something. It could be a mix of different ancient cultures clashing together, and cover Romans, Greeks, Chinese style but with different tribes, monsters and so forth. I am sorry but I cannot really get along with TLCs action themes they offer. It's either Underwater, digging tunnels or Jurassic Park. And Ninjago was so so but Chima is really not my cup of tea. I like Johnny Thunder and the new iteration, though - but one could almost argue it's not really an action theme but a modern historic one (except the giant scorpions these days). I would like to see something Fantasy which goes beyond Castle / LotR and beyond accurate historical themes (which we probably will never see). I believe many could get happy with such a theme, sounds like a good compromise between historical themes (we never saw) and action between factions (what needs to be these days). TLC is too much on the boring track, they should be more surprising and invent a new universe, a new world. I believe Heroica is a step in the right direction, and while only a board game, it's success might indicate that there is demand for a Fantasy world which is not Castle / Dragons / LotR but more. Or, I believe I just have to start MOCing... -
Great review - thanks a lot! I think this set is difficult to sell to kids who haven't seen the movie. It is just really strange and who could say what to do / how to play with it. In comparison with the Avengers' SHIELD truck, same price, movie-related - the truck offers a lot more playability and you don't necessarily need to know what's going on to play with it. Or perhaps it's just me and my lack of knowledge of the DC universe..
-
Sorry if this's been mentioned but all the sets from the hi-res pics are available on European s@h now!

Like the sand? On Tatooine? That is so rough and irritating? Sorry, mate, you got me there! Great review - thanks a lot! And I am also one of the SW nerds that always thought the parka is blue. I learned the truth now and you just sold that minifig to me. I want it. (Hoping for a good deal on the 4th!)
-
Great one! A slap in TLCs face, as it's much better than 75003!
-
I love the little fishing boat. More civilian sets, TLC! Too bad it comes with that water plane which tail fin construction is a bit on the awkward side. I have no idea what they wanted to achieve here.
-
The helicopter loooks really good. On World of Games it's listed for SFr 40, what translates to roughly 32€. Is there any word about the € price tag for this one? I couldn't find anything.
-
Great review. I never realized how huge the EN is! I didn't have this on my list due to space issues but this train is tempting! Comparing the box photo and the photo of the actual minifigure, I believe you are on to something about the misprint.

LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality
Zzz replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I am not a huge fan of those shops, and while the idea and creation is nice, I am afraid they received most of their votes from (mainly Apple) fanboys. Don't get me wrong, this is written on a Mac, but this whole religious hype is annoying. A Lego city should not have the same landmarks that suck out too much individual spirit our cities once had. Having said that, of course the City needs more shops (instead of fire and police stations) and TLC needs to make them. Licensed ones, though, not. (now get out your pitchforks - 4496 - and torches - 33172 - and come running after me!)
