    MOD Cafe Corner

Very nice! I like the Cafe Corner, and I like your version. The architectural changes are quite good. It just shows what can be done with a little creativity. The dark colors are not my favorite, but I applaud you for being able to use what you had and come up with such a nice creation. To me with the Cafe Corner (because it is out of production) it is not about an exact copy, but something that pleases you. I look forward to more of your MODs and MOCs. Andy D
  2. Congratulations to all the winners. Even the entries that didn't get a prize were great! Thanks to the organizers, and I hope to see another Winter Zvillage contest next year. Maybe I'll even enter. Andy D
  3. I really like this modular! Nice concept, flowers shop and residence. The color reminds me of things I've seen in Italy. Looking forward to your next. Andy D
  4. Excellent garage. I really like all the little details that make it more believable. The gas pumps out front, and all the little things that you would expect to see in a garage/gas station. Andy D
  5. Excellent MOC. I really like the division of function between the floors. I really like the furniture in the living areas and the items β€œfor sale” on the ground floor. I look forward to more of your work. Andy D
  6. This building is wonderful! I am really impressed by the windows, which are very unique. The colors on the exterior work very well. Then there is the interior, which is very detailed, I can imagine that it is a actual working factory. I look forward to more of your MOCs. Andy D

    House of Joy

I really like the MOC. Lots of good ideas here and well executed. I read, and re-read and I could not find a direct reference to prostitution in the original post. There was some innuendo, but there has been innuendo on several MOCs posted on this forum. To me it looks more like the geisha type thing than a house of prostitution. Maybe that is just my naivety and looking at the world through "rose colored glasses". The building is great, the topic of prostitution, not so much. I don't want to get into a debate on prostitution, I am just looking at the MOC, and it is very good. Andy D
  8. BRG... That is really nice. It looks just like Carl's house, and the color changes do not affect the build or looks. I hope she says yes (she will) and that you have a long, healthy, happy, LEGO life together. Andy D

  10. Thanks for the reply. Not what I wanted to hear, but that is the way it is. I need to find a way to run LDD manager on my Mac (without buying Windows and Access). Thanks again, Andy D
  11. How do I convert an LDD HTML parts list file to a Bricklink XML? I made an HTML building guide from an LDD file, it gave me an HTML parts list. I use a Mac, so LDD Manager is not an option. I tried Brickhelper, but it doesn't seem to run. Any help much appreciated. Andy D
  12. I buy some sets to build, and leave together for display, these are mostly the Modulars and some Creator house sets. I buy some sets as a source of parts, these sets I put together and then disassemble rather soon (one or two weeks). So, for me, it depends on why I bought the set in the first place. Andy D
  13. Thanks, I just downloaded the LXF file and will fire up LDD as soon as I get some time and try to generate a parts list. Thanks again, Andy D
  14. I just found out about the 10184, Town Plan. I really like the Cinema building. Is there a way to find a parts list for just bag 3 (which is the bag of parts for just the Cinema)? I would like to Bricklink this, and it would be much easier if there were a parts list for just that bag. I know it can be done by just going through the instructions and making my own, but if one already exists I would like to use this. Thanks, Andy D
  15. I just noticed how you changed the corridor, the change really shows that the corner area is a corridor for getting into the rooms and allows you to see a glimpse of the corridor. My mini fig wedding couple want to go for a stay at your inn. Good luck! Andy D
  16. Very nice, I really like the style of the building. The architecture and little details add so much to the building. I don’t know why, but it reminds me of something that might seen it German official buildings from WW II, maybe it is the wheel (which reminds me of an air force type decoration) and the use of the helments. Overall I really like the building, both front and back. The balconies look like good places for mini-figs to relax and enjoy a morning coffee or an evening beverage. Thanks for sharing this. Andy D
  17. Very nice! Looks like a place kids would enjoy going to see Santa. My favorite part is the hot chocolate stand, very clever. Oh, just noticed, the front of the hot chocolate stand is the upstairs window from the Winter VIllage Toy Shop. Very good use. Good luck with the contest. Andy D
  18. Very nice. I really like the colors and the style fits perfectly. There are so many little details to find that I am sure it will take several looks just to see most of it. Good luck with the contest. Andy D
  19. I really like the concept, there are numerous interesting features. I really like all your LEGO block building machines and the snow blower. The overall design is very whimsecle and as such does fit with the Winter Village concept. Andy D
  20. I really like the changes! Putting the radio station on the third floor by itself was a great idea. I really like the new windows on front of the store with the "awning like" treatment, however, the new front appears less "winter villagery" than before. I really like the new spiral staircase to the second floor. It looks like considerable rework was required. Overall, great changes. Good luck with the competition! Andy D
  21. So many things to appreciate here! The first thing to catch my eye was the bay window and balcony. Then I noticed the front entry and roof line, then the garden really completes the MOC. Very nicely done! Thanks for sharing this. Andy D
  22. Have you done the math? I was considering an online presence and after considering the quantity of LEGO that I would have to sell, plus the investment in inventory I came to the conclusion that opening any store, particularly a LEGO store would be very costly and large financial investment/risk. Unless you have an inside track to very inexpensive inventory, well... If you are still interested, I suggest you find the regional LEGO rep and discuss your idea. Andy D
  23. I think the iPad is the greatest for reading instructions because you can enlarge areas for closer inspection. iPad, the perfect LEGO building accessory. Andy D
  24. Did he take one photo then stop? How about a spread of the parts packet? So we can see what is there. Andy D
  25. I just thought I was going to spend less this year, yeah , right! If TLG keeps is up, I'll be spending more this year than last year. The Town Hall looks great and I will add it to my modular collection. The only decision is 1 or 2? (one to build, one for the wonderful new colors an parts) Andy D
