If it were me, I would be happy with the count of 1/2 ziplock baggie. Sounds like a good unit of measure! ;) Andy D

What do you need to do to make it part of your village? I really like the clock tower, but I would like to see some close-ups of it and some different views. Great first contest entry (I've yet to enter a contest), keep it up! Andy D

I don't know if you have seen these two YouTube videos or not, but maybe they will help. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQW-5FSfBso The first is a stop action video of the assembly, the second is by what appears to be a LEGO designer. Maybe you can contact one of these people directly for the instructions. IHTH, Andy D

Thanks for the reply. I will build the cocoa stand soon (I just need time before Christmas). On the snow, did you add the water, or just use the powder dry? Thanks, Andy D

I really like this! The interior is wonderful, the exterior and extra modules really add to the theme. The downstairs windows are really interesting, I wish there wa a close-up of them. I just may use your hot chocolate stand idea in my Winter village Christmas display ( if hat is OK). You've got a real shot at the contest! What did you use for the snow on the ground? BTW: Why is this your last contest? You do such nice work. Andy D

The more I look at this, the more I like it. There are just so many interesting details. Reminds me of the Toy Shop with a downstairs sales area and an office upstairs. It well be a wonderful to your yearly display! Andy D

I joined EuroBricks back in August of 2010. This was back When NXTasy was having difficulties staying online. I was hunting for MindStorms and Technic discussions. After awhile I started visiting other areas of the forum and became interested in trains. I then saw the Café Corner and I immediately liked on modular buildings. I scoured Bricklink and built the CC, just a start on modulars. Reading the Town forum made me more interested in not only modular buildings, but other buildings as well, particularly the Winter Village theme. I would probably have a lot lower credit card bill were it not for EuroBricks ;) I visit EB at least two or three times per day (maybe more), but I do not spend a significant amount of time during each visit. I have learned quite a bit of useful information as a result of EB, building techniques and how and where to find parts and that stacking in a PaB cup allows me more parts for my $$’s. Congratulations and thanks to the EB team for a job well done! Andy D

Excellent, cozy log cabin for John and Suzy! It really fits with the Winter Village theme, and gives folks a place to live. Very nice detail on the logs. Good luck in the contest. Andy D

Great house and yard! So many wonderful details, I need several trips through your photos to get the full impact. Round window an unexpected surprise. I am really looking forward to your train station as well. Andy D

Well, at least the kitchen is in the same general area as our Lego building area, so we visit as we do our thing. My wife loves to cook, and she is really great at it! We great the great smells, and my wife admires our Lego builds, so... It's all good! And at the end of the day we've all had a good time doing something we like, we've spent the day as family and we have a great meal. Andy D

Very, very nice. I love all the little touches. I particularly like the windows on the second floor that let you get a peek of the inside details. Keep up the great work! Andy D

Very nice, cozy chalet! Nice choice of "extra" elements. Inside view of sledding hill a good idea, sled on hill interesting. One horse open sleigh nice, I need to go sing Jingle Bells now ;) Andy D

I really like this building! But I cannot see how a building like this would integrate into my modular layout. That said, I still like the building. Andy D

So many nice things. I like the overall size and shape and details. The interior view is nice. I think the frozen fountain is particularly whimsical as it adds a bit of humor to the scene. Andy D

Great! Thanks for the photo. Now I see the context of where the pizza restaurant is in reference to the rest of the store. God job! Andy D

Very nice addition! From the photo I cannot see how the first floor is connected to other floors. Did you retain the escalator or what? Thanks, Andy D

Great Mod! Do you have a close-up of the interior? Thanks for posting this! Andy D

Very nice indeed! It seems like these arrangements are coming out of the woodwork this year, each has their own little twist. Yours is great because it is a town square made completely of LEGO. I am also building a LEGO WInter Village town square, I hope my Winter VIllage town square can look as well as yours. Thanks for posting this, Andy D

Excellent gingerbread house! The colors you used were terrific, it looks like real gingerbread and candy. It will be a great addition to any Christmas display. Congrats, Andy D

If I plan to use the set as a model I apply the stickers. If I plan to use the set as parts once built and taken apart, I do not apply. So, for me, it depends. Andy D

I am also a major fan of the Winter Village sets! This MOC of yours is terrific! You re right, the village needs a cottage (or two). in fact I may attempt it after I get a couple of other projects done. Thanks for sharing this creation! Andy D

Thanks ever so much! I'll keep my eyes open for the release of the Nutcracker! Andy D

Lego Store Special Super-VIP event!
Andy D replied to mostlytechnic's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That's very interesting. My offer (which I accepted) was the same as above, except my discount was only 10%. Weird that the online offer discount was different for different folks. But that's OK. My pre-discount, pre-tax was $185, after discount and VIP points used it was $144 (plus sales tax), still a good deal for what I got. Andy D -
I just noticed in the upcoming events of a LEGO flyer that I got somewhere (most likely the LEGO store) that the monthly Model build for December is a Nutcracker. My wife and I collect nutcrackers and I would really like to have one or two. One minor problem, I am nowhere near 14, (that was a long, long, long... Time ago). And the event is only for 6-14 y.o.'s. Any idea where the instructions might eventually be available? So I could get the parts from Bricklink or my own collection and build one or two. Thanks, Andy D
