  1. Very nice build. Very clever use of parts. To me, it looks just like the larger model. Andy D

  5. I'm guessing many of you spend much more than I do on LEGO. I only spend about $1,000 per year on LEGO. For me it's all about balance. So I spend some on LEGO, some here, some there. For me it's not my LEGO spendIng that's out of control, it could be my travel spending (nah) I guess I could add the LEGO spending my travel spending, but why would I do that? My motto for 2012 doesn't appear to be working out so well either. Andy D
  6. Very, very nice! I really like the colors and the interiors, but for me, the terrace is the most clever part of he MOC! This is something I have only been dreaming of, but not building. Good luck with he contest. You have a gret contender there! Andy D
  7. Very nice building. The front and back are very interesting. I particularly like the side view. Good luck in thek contest. Andy D
  8. I saw 3 or 4 more Town Hall sets and about the same for the Empotium. I didn' see a Spidey set, but then I wasn't looking for them. Hope this helpd. Andy D
  9. Wow! I decided to drop by the Ontario, CA. Ontario Mills LEGO and found quite a damaged box sale (20% off). I got a 10224 Town Hall and a 10211 Grand Emporium. They have more of each left and some LoTR sets as well. The best part is my wife didn't even bat an eye (got off easy with this one). Happy hunting, Andy D
  10. I join others in saying that this is truly brilliant! Makes me want to start doing some mini-modulars myself. Good luck in the contest! You've got a winner here! Andy D
  11. Were the LEGO or other toys sanitized before sealing? If not they could have skin cells or oil left from handling them or any number of other contaminets that could have been on the toys that could be causing the smell. Andy D
  12. Great work shrinking your beautiful Galaxy Diner and Empire Theater! Count me in on waiting for the LDD. AndyD
  13. Very nice modular. I really like the many of the details, but in some cases it is a little over done. Reminds me a little of a gingerbread house. I really like the exterior staircase going to a second floor entry. The third floor balcony is also quite nice. The only cons (for me) is a little too much clutter and there are just a few too many different pastel like colors, maybe few less different colors would be nice. Overall, quite nice. The PDF instructions on his Bricklink store are reasonably priced, but I believe the complete kit at $1,475.00 is a little over the top. Andy D
  14. One way to get a list of just the shop part is to get the ldd file link here Delete the apartment from the file, and use LDD to create a parts list for the shop part. Andy D
  15. Sean Kennedy's creations always amaze me, from the smallest to the largest. Thanks for the kink to the article, . Andy D
  16. In a way, this is a great idea. It would encourage people to think with their wallet before voting. But in another way it might discourage some people from participating. It is my understanding that just because a project reaches 10,000 votes that it is not guaranteed that LEGO will produce it. I can see that just having Cuusoo is a way to promote innovation. Andy D
  17. I really like what you did to the GE! The roof top cafe is great! The up and down escalators are great! I really like what you did to the streetside entrance and the floors above it. Is it an open atrium all the way up? Andy D

    An Old Car

I'll second the great color scheme comment. I also like some of the interesting pieces you used. Not bad for an afternoon, very nive in fact! Andy D
  19. Actually this will not be that over the top expensive (well, yes it is), because it will take at least 10 years to build and if this is a 20K$ project, about 2K$ per year is about what many of us spend anyway. A couple of questions... Where are you going to put such a massive structure? Are you married? If not, you better make sure your future spouse is willing to marry this structure as well as you, and your kids will love it! If you are married... how does your spouse feel about this construction? Overall I think this is a wonderful design and I would like to see it completed. I hope you are able to make it happen and I wish you all the luck you need to do it. Great looking project, thanks for sharing this with us, Andy D
  20. For sets under about 800 pieces, I don't care if the bags are numbered or not. For Modulars I like the numbered bags to separate the levels as sorting 2000 plus parts is difficult in my building space. On the Emerald Night, it was nice to know what parts were for each car. So for me, it depends on the size. Andy D
  21. To prevent damage in attic or garage, put them in a large plastic bag or bin. Andy D
  22. Thanks for the update. We should be good as the poster (lulugege) mentioned that the pieces were missing from the first level. Thanks, Andy D
  23. Excellent video! The animation and transitions are very smooth. I really like the story. If one looks carefully they can see the story of our Earth. First the Big Bang, then all the Earth (volcano’s and such) and animal transitions from one cell (ameba) to multi cell (animals) all the way man. I like the way you depicted early man from hunter to violence of man (too bad that is the way we were/are) to building cities and going to space. All in all a very excellent video presentation of the history of our world. Thanks for sharing this. Andy D
  24. Scorpio, that is very impressive! What is that 500K to 1M or more pieces? I hope I never have that much LEGO, because I would not have a wife if I did I am just looking to get my meager 20k pieces organized so I can find things and build efficiently. Thanks for the inspiration! I now know it can be done. Andy D
  25. Legocrazy81. -- Did you build it yet? Any missing pieces? My code is also 05R2. I may not get to it for awhile and I would like to know if I should expect missing pieces. Thanks, Andy D
