  1. The scale you're working in is a beast. 6 XL motors! I still build in 6 and 7-wide. The parts count and size alone for your Allegheny 2-6-6-6 easily dwarfs the Hogwarts Express monstrosity. For kits, your market will be quite limited I expect. The cost alone will be a major factor in the number of potential buyers.
  2. Well done with the Chibi / Brickheadz build. You've captured Emeraldas well. I really like how you've got the flowing hair in the back. That stands out with me as a great design feature vs the normal Brickheadz.
  3. Compensating, medieval style. What else do the tales tell? Great vignette. The rounded bricks work well as the base and the vegetation is well composed.
  4. That's my hope. Between the recent sales of Camp Nou and others at 40 percent off, and now this for recent releases, smacks of desperation. Marketing needs to listen to the customers again. Nobody wanted this iconic locomotive to be a mega monstrosity. As people are voting with their wallet, LEGO is probably kicking themselves for this. I'll bet they have a lot in inventory they NEED to move for the holidays.
  5. Excellent work on recreating the Metroliner series. I like how you put the windows sideways or upside down (cab end) to make the carriages look proper.
  6. Nice model. I agree that the Greyhound scheme works better for it than the original paint.
  7. If you have the setup in mind to run at 1:35 scale, it might be interesting to see. I don't know how big the audience would be for kits given the size. Maybe get a small kit out there and judge the demand?
  8. This is a shady warehouse. Drug needles and athletes lining up? Would love to see more of it. Good use of the prefab panels for walls.
  9. Well, LEGO seems to be having issues selling the Hogwart's Express monstrosity. Right now, they're offering a $100 discount on the set for 100 points for VIP members. That's the biggest reward for points I've ever seen. I think they overestimated how many people would pay $500 (local currency may vary) for a non-functional display piece. How long until this gets on the 20% off or more? Big miss for LEGO here by not making it L-gauge compatible. Too bad they'll take this out against all trains. Maybe at least they won't bollocks up the Orient Express by learning from this.
  10. Besides the GWPs (all insanely high priced), LEGO is offering various discounts on certain 18+ sets. I think the discounts are there to entice people to buy these overpriced and not well marketed sets.
  11. Nice prize pack. Do the helmets have NVGs to go with?
  12. Good design. Is this before or after Benny stole the engines for his racer? NPU with the Bionicle nose.
  13. Nicely done. Each vignette works well as a stand alone, but I like how you put them together in a montage. The falling water is great.
  14. Grey looks great too. Building it will show the strengths of the model. The color won't matter as much. While green has been around forever, it isn't a color that has gotten a lot of parts made in it.
  15. Interesting design. It does fit with the 80's/90's anime hover tank concepts. You did good work making all the parts blend together. And I like how you built the machine gun.
  16. Great build. Good work on all the details.
  17. Nice adaptation of the set to be a much more involved build. I like your ghost.
  18. The People's Democratic Socialist Republic of Eaststeinovania has a formidable fleet. A major component of their naval strength is 18 of the Type 99 diesel-electric submarines. Each carries a crew of 28 minifigs. The Type 99 has an unrefueled range of 12,000km, and can travel at 11 knots surfaced, and 21 knots submerged. It is equipped with a snorkel device, allowing the dual diesel engines to run while at shallow depths. Here we see a Type 99 submarine running on the surface. The 2nd officer / navigator is taking a sextant reading for practice while another crewman keeps a lookout. The Type 99 submarine has 6x 533mm torpedo tubes. Four in the bow, two in the stern. It can carry up to 16 torpedoes or a mix of torpedoes and mines. For mine laying operations, extra naval mines can be attached to the exterior of the submarine. Crush depth is 1,000m, and the test depth is 700m. Secure inside a hardened submarine pen, this Type 99 submarine is being readied for a patrol. Both the forward and aft hatches are open. Additional deck plates can be removed to facilitate loading of armaments. On the conning tower, from bow to stern, we have a small radar aerial, a radio/SATCOM aerial, the periscope, and the snorkel. 533mm torpedoes and mines are on the quay, waiting to be loaded.
  19. Danke. The use of forced perspective helps to add the illusion of distance to MOCs. I'm not great at it, but do attempt it now and then. It helps when you can't build huge vistas, but want to have details like a far off camp or mountains still in the scene.
  20. Interesting low profile design. That's a big, flat target for an airstrike to hit. Good use of the grill tiles to show where the tracks have compressed the mud.
  21. This about sums up my feelings. Build for you. I've lived on both sides of the Atlantic and had the opportunity to travel around the world. Many of my builds are European based, but I do have a few American ones. Always had a fondness for Union Pacific. Now that I live in America, I tend to show mostly my British and German rolling stock at shows because they are different. The locals appear to enjoy seeing something different than NS, CSX, their older, constituent railroads, or Amtrak.
  22. Thanks. All anybody ever looks at is what's above the water line on ships. With the low profile of a submarine, it makes the illusion far easier. Ice cream makes for great air bubble when submerging too. The rocks are supposed to have the green color in them. They are "marbled" from the factory. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=6082pb01&name=Rock Panel 4 x 10 x 6 Rectangular (BURP) with Marbled Dark Green Pattern&category=[Rock]#T=C
  23. Superb work on everything. The flowers at the base set the scene, but the airship really captures one's attention. All the colors are harmonious and compliment each other well.
  24. Excellent work creating the castle and dragon at this scale. The minifig hands as banners are wonderful. Even the window that becomes a portcullis is brilliant.
  25. A roving patrol from the gun runners under Brick of Nations investigation stops his dune buggy near the shore. With a set of binoculars, he scans the horizon for ships and the skies for aircraft. He sees nothing, yet has the strange feeling like he's being watched. Because he neglected to scan the waters close to shore, he missed the periscope from the submarine. At night, the PDSRE Type 99 diesel-electric submarine surfaces. The position was pre-planned due to the location of the tiny seaside cave. Quickly, two operatives go on deck and prepare their equipment for the swim to shore. Meanwhile, the skipper keeps a lookout. After the final swimming trip, all the supplies are ashore. The operatives duck into the cave while the submarine sinks out of sight. The next day, the operatives begin their surveillance. Using SATCOM, they send back images and data on the movements of the gun runners at their camp a half kilometer away.
