  1. Oh, you mean asking for clarification when two trees are not just simply using codes, but talking in partial code / partial words so that people are trying to figure out what they're saying? And right in the midst of all the confusion over un-named trees, 4 dead, meaning to the images, etc (note that the info that Chester was a bomb was shared AFTER I threw out this idea, despite it being in Simon's post just before mine)... If I was scum, do you think I'd be stupid enough to blatantly suggest this? No. And since a little info came out that clarified a TON of things, I dropped it. got any other reason to lynch me, or were you just scummily trying to start what you hoped would be an easy bandwagon? (and I assume you meant townies working together with stumps, not scum... )
  2. Then what do we make of Alastair, since he was plucked rather than blown up? Some 3rd party, or just being a smaller tree, no dynamite was needed?
  3. Weird that the board combined your posts... since the end of this post was posted AFTER my next post, where I acknowledge the proof :) Strange internet things going on... and apology accepted. Jumpiness is understandable at this point. Hopefully this will soon be over and we can just enjoy the sunshine together, maybe even replant our fallen oak friends? Ok, care to explain THIS conversation? KIDDING!
  4. Ok, thanks. Now that we've got clarification from Alder and you, I see why you said the image had meaning. Aka, now there's proof :) So I went and checked day 4 - all four trees that day were just cut down, no flying chainsaws or anything. So I assume that means there was not a bomb or pgo or something that night, which backs up the assertion that the IS a SK in the game. So Peter was either scum killer or a SK. Guess we'll find out tonight, when we may or may not have an extra kill. For Peter to be an SK though, the scum would have had to be prevented (or have targeted Nash along with the vig) Or if Peter was a scum, the SK would have had to fail or target one of the dead.
  5. Focus, as in trying to figure out WHAT IS GOING ON? Yeah, that's strange for an oak to want to discuss things to see what others are thinking and scumhunt that way. Yes, code is a good thing. Except then you ahve Waldorf replying that maybe there's a second one, and things like that. And it's day 6 with just 8 of us left. Odds are pretty high that it ends tonight, so why not just lay the cards out now? And just how do you KNOW there's meaning? Because you want there to be? Or do you have some of that stuff, what's it called again, oh yeah. PROOF?
  6. Except there's no explicit statement of Chester being chopped down, so I think Alder just forgot to name Chester in the images. The roots - just seeing a different side of the tree. And the leaves - Chester has the darkest leaves of any of the three of you (Chester, Waldorf, Sammy) with that large, lighter color trunk. So I'm 99.5% sure that's Chester with spikes in him. If I was going to read ANYTHING into it, I'd say Chester was a bomb and Peter was the scum killer, but I still don't think the images are supposed to hint anything.
  7. 1. Care to translate for the rest of us? 2. Why? Why should we assume there's meaning in the stuck chainsaw? Normally the images don't have clues and we've already been over this ground.
  8. Back to the serial killer - assuming we have one, why no kill night 1 and 2? That just doesn't make sense for a SK to skip two nights of kills! So I'm thinking they MUST have a special win condition. The alternative explanation would be that they were prevented two nights in a row and not since - so they were blocked one night and target was protected the other night? Or they targeted the same person as the vig one night? Ditto for matching the scum target? I guess that's possible, but it sure doesn't seem likely to have been prevented two nights in a row at the beginning of the game when there were so many trees still around.
  9. Serial killer, or the bomb? Can we get some clarification from the stumps / town block on what kill(s) the town did so the rest of us can get our brains working on this too? And yes, it appears that the chainsaw stuck in Chester. Here's his image from an earlier day: But should we read anything into that? And finally, something that pinged me was Alder's last instruction: “So many trees gone, and yet not a verified Maple among them. Please, find a Maple today.” Does that mean we're wrong that no stump = maple? Or does that just mean there is a janitor who's been taking away the scum stumps?
  10. Got a small pile of the Technic snowmobile on clearance at target last night. Now debating on keeping vs selling the parts...
  11. But he's dead, so not like penalty votes matter anymore, unless we can re-lynch him...
  12. Yes - the monorail bases only work as base - motor - base. If you wanted anything longer it would be very difficult to mod together. And awesome train design!
  13. Larry, pretty sure I already checked the archives on the topic of millers and they've happened more than once. Yep, here it was: Obviously, I've changed my thoughts from that last sentence...
  14. I note you left yourself out of the suspect list that keeps bouncing around.... And care to actually BUILD some cases, rather than just say there are cases?
  15. Looks like I get to start things off: Vote: Berty Birch (dragonfire) I think I explained it enough earlier today.
  16. Well, assuming the three missing stumps are scum, and you are too Berty, that'd be 4. I'm guessing there were 5 scum, so only need one more. And yeah, it's probably in that list of people you gave (Peter, Chester, Sue, Nash) since you are probably trying to keep their name cleared when you don't appear tomorrow as a stump.
  17. Yes, stumps are starting to be a good assistance to us - but it took a while, and the lack of stumps on 3 people has been a MAJOR point of confusion. Could that be the counter-balance? The lack of info on maples / 3rd parties? And I think that's a good explanation of the miller claim. It's been bouncing around my mind for a while and that's the clearest statement of it I've seen. Makes sense and I think it's time to put that miller claim to the test.
  18. Ok, expect a vote from me when voting opens. We're looking at the same data (the lack of stumps) exactly opposite. I started out thinking there had to be a janitor. Made for the simplest explanation - Alastair was janitored probably just for confusion's sake going into day 2. Odds are he was an oak, just looking at the odds and the fact that it's day 1. But now, with 3 missing stumps, I'm not thinking that anymore: Janitor usually is a limited use role. We've got 3 missing stumps already - seems like a lot to me. No missing stump from night 2. Why? If the maples DID have an unlimited (or at least a very many shot) janitor, why not use it night 2? Surely they'd have wanted to keep the confusion going. There was so much debate over codes and stumps and Catarina, if they'd have had a janitor they'd have used it. Surely. I still think Hazel was scum. So it's possible if they had a janitor, they'd have used it to hide her identity. But then we're back to point 1 - could they have this many janitors? If they do, we're back to point 2, why not use it night 2 as well? Finally, the scum knew Waldorf would flip oak and come back as a stump. If I were them and had a janitor ability, I'd have let Hazel flip scum, since (by definition of a lynch) a majority of people thought she was anyway, and removed Waldorf instead to keep him from coordinating between us and the stumps. ESPECIALLY if they knew he was the investigator as some think they did - keep him from confirming that and keep people questioning Simon and the dual-investigator story. Instead, since he came back as stump, we've got solid trustworthy confirmation that seals Simon as legit. So that's why now, since we have ZERO proven maples or 3rd parties, I'm leaning that we were right in thinking Barry and Hazel were scum. Alastair was either scum or 3rd party and we got really lucky on day 1 voting. And I think oaks come back as stumps and since there'd be no point in a maple or 3rd party coming back as a stump, they're removed. And the scum don't have a janitor. And so it's logically consistent that Hazel was scum like we thought. And that means you probably are too - so as I said, expect my vote.
  19. Did you read what I said? Yes, I thought hazel was scum and still do. I meant that with 13 trees down, none have shown up maple. All are either oak stumps or gone. Therefore, I think it may be true that the missing stumps (alastair, barry, hazel) are maples or 3rd party. I still don't like that theory, since I don't think it's a good scheme to have the Alder be inaccurate like that. But that doesn't mean it can't happen. The fact that I think hazel was scum and her stump is gone made me reconsider my position on how the stumps happen and don't happen.
  20. Well then, thanks for using me to find us some maples, Simon. Even if I'm not the best at pointing out suspects, glad to serve where I can
  21. Oaks, WE SUCK AT BEING OAKS apparently! Not surprised to see Waldorf flipping oak, but disappointed to see Hazel being hidden. Although I still don't like it, I'm seriously starting to reconsider the suggestion that no stump = maple or 3rd party. I just can't believe that with this many trees felled, there's not a single maple among them. Stumps, any guidance you can shed on things? Any reason to think any of our missing are oaks?
  22. I'd been leaning towards switching my vote to Peter in the interest of getting a lynch today and then pursuing Hazel tomorrow, but now I'm set. My vote stays and I hope others will join!
  23. Seriously, where is everyone? We've got almost half the forest not voting yet. So it's not worth moving any votes around yet to get a lynch, since we've only got 8 TOTAL votes placed. (oops, hazel just posted and voted while I was writing, so we've got 9 of 15 trees voting so far.)
  24. I wanted to make sure my vote on Hazel is justified. So... I started way back on day one when I'd been pinging on her and re-read the whole thing. First, let's see how Hazel voted. Larry, as the second vote on him and just restating someone else's logic Catarina for being defensive and fluffy Hm... both of those turned out to be oak after being lynched on days 2 and 3. Second, what did Hazel do on day 1? Very first post was an apology. Pinged several people right off the bat - why coming in and starting off defensive like that? Next was silence and more apologetic posts about being without access for a while. That's fine and can be legit (something I defended Hazel for) but the apologetic-ness was over the top. And she threatened to just vote randomly since she couldn't keep up with everything going on. After getting into arguments with Catarina, she accused catarina of being "butt-hurt" and taking things too personally. Sounds like how hazel's been today. And after I voted for her, she argued my grammar rather than any of the accusations. Third - how did others react to Hazel on day 1? Alastair poke-voted her and then unvoted after she said a few things. Oh wait, he became the day 1 lynch-wagon and is unknown allegiance. Catarina was pinging on Hazel but didn't vote it right away. Peter voted against Hazel, then Catarina did, and then I did (for her being lazy). Catarina unvoted Hazel so she could get onto the bandwagon. TL;DR version? Hazel started right off the bat being lazy, defensive, and everyone she voted against turned out to be oaks later. A number of people were pinging on her as scummy. So yeah, I'm still comfortable in putting my vote on her.
