  1. Now, the real question is what to make of Nathan's analysis - a townie who missed finding the post from Zipzop that gave all the details and so made a bad analysis, or a scummy attempt to lynch Seamus? I'm leaning the former, since it's the start of the day. If it was a deliberate misleading attempt, there was too much time for someone to catch it like I did.
  2. Alright, sorry Nathan, you're wrong. I checked when the pieces of the code were posted in the day 3 thread. What was pinging me was Seamus knowing my piece (the highest number). But it's all legit. Here's why: That's the first time I'd posted my piece anywhere. I never shared it over PM. Here's Seamus with his summary that pinged you. But here is the main parts being shared, BEFORE Seamus' post. You missed this in your analysis. That's not the piece I was given, and I didn't say I agreed with his analysis, I said thanks and then went to check it for myself like I said I was going to. And everything you said was already public knowledge before you said it, so Nathan was wrong.
  3. Thanks for that analysis there Nathan... lemme check some timestamps on things. Something else in there is pinging me.
  4. I wouldn't give Mr SK too much credit - it's in his/her best interest right now for the days to keep going. Assuming the standard SK win condition (be in the last x number of players, or survive till end, something like that), the fact that we've caught zero scum is a BIG problem for the SK. Therefore, I'd assume the SK voluntarily stayed home and that our blocker or protector prevented the scum kill. There is zero reason for the scum NOT to have sent a kill. I don't really care who the protector protected, since that doesn't tell us anything. But who the blocker blocked would give us 50/50 odds on the blocked person being scum. So if the block could get share with everyone who the blocker blocked, that would sure be a great start to the day's voting!
  5. Have to say, I'm sorta surprised to still be here today. Except that I the came to the conclusion that the scum likely would NOT have killed me overnight in order to keep suspicion on me and keep me as a distraction after yesterday. Hmph. Oh look, someone starting it already.... Sure hope you all got SOMETHING since we all apparently suck hard this game at finding scum. As someone already pointed out, Clem is only a backup for the first PR (and he said only for certain PRs, not all of them), so he still wouldn't know if the real vig was dead if he'd already inherited another role. So your logic there doesn't work. But the real vig IS alive since I'm here. And I'm the real town vig. And I stayed home last night as requested. True but irrelevant. My claim was truth and only because town was about to lynch a townie, ME. This. Town blocker/protector, you did good work last night and need to make sure that the block knows who you blocked and who you protected (well, mostly who was blocked) since that's a good lead on finding scum.
  6. If my count is right, that now puts Bock and Rip at 5 votes each. Plus Rip still voting for me and Seamus not voting yet. Crap, that means a big risk of Rip showing up and switching to Bock, and Seamus voting Rip, and having a tie. Wonder if the scum like that plan or not...
  7. Since Rip has mostly flown under my radar, I'm doing a full ISO on him. It was pretty quick, since he's the least talkative of all the living players. Heck, there's 3 dead players who have made more total posts in the game than him. Not that talkative is a guarantee of town, but scum DO usually try not to be noticed. Anyway, here's what he's said: Day 1 Fluff Fluff Fluff Tried to make Wen jump (couldn't / didn't see the difference between people trying to encourage Xen vs lynching Wen) And then made this awesomely thought-out vote: Note that he didn't even accuse Wen of being scummy. Day 2 Said that the town shouldn't block Clem, when he obviously meant protect. that's pretty anti-town there. There's only 1 known role; that seems like the obvious person to protect. A nit-picky attack on clem, picking at single words like complaining that Clem talked about a godfather rather than the godfather Fluff Questioned claw and threw some suspicion on Minga More of the same And then another powerfully justified vote: So again, not even accusing Claw of being scummy, but going along with the bandwagon. He voted 5th both days; comfortably in the middle. Day 3 Fluff with poking at clem for not answering all Rip's questions on day 2, and a minor poke at Zip based on day 1 vote analysis (actually, the same argument I made in much more detail later that there must be a scum on Clem's day 1 wagon, but he just briefly mentioned it) A huge fluffy set of answers to Seamus' suspicions on him, plus saying he doesn't trust Clem and trying to get more town info to come out He got voted on by Harriet without much reasoning Then Rip defended Zip as being a confused townie and not scum at all, plus voted for me by just repeating Seamus' thoughts And finally a brief appearance to tell Minga to make a case against Bock Overall, I'm not getting a town vibe off of him. And we need a lynch, so I'm going to Unvote: Zipzop (Sir Stig) and Vote: Rip Sewer (Captain Nemo) I will be around the rest of the day to keep discussing and help achieve a lynch as needed.
  8. Hey, I don't know why the scum target certain people. I'm not one of them. But now we need to find a new lynch target today and get some scum dead. so far Bock has the most votes, but not really a good case against him. I prefer Zipzop myself - lots of confusion, suspicion, and I did a vote analysis as to why he's a good choice. But we've gotta get something moving or we'll have a no-lynch on our hands.
  9. I've been too busy dealing with all the crap you all threw at me all day, trying to defend myself without having to claim to anyone since I didn't have anyone ranked townie enough yet to claim to. but then when the votes suddenly started building, I had to stop it. So I tried claiming in private to minga, just like you think I should have. But since apparently NO ONE FREAKING READS and saw minga's unvote on me, suddenly a bunch more people piled on. At that point I HAD to make a public claim to prevent the lynch of a townie and more importantly, the possible loss since I wouldn't be around to make a night kill (not that I've done great so far), and the scum and SK could each take out another townie. It could then be 4 town, 4 scum, 1 SK left. So I guess not a loss yet, but WAY too close. So no, I didn't trust Minga enough yet to claim early in the day. But when things got worse, I had to do something and claim to her in private. A strong player who followed the bandwagons, voted late enough to be safe instead of leading at all, posted a whole 8 times in 2 game days, most of that fluff... sorry, not seeing a big loss here. Except that a townie is gone and that hurts our numbers. And why would the scum kill either one? Because they're town? Do they need more reason? They probably figure you and clem were protected/watched (or you are scum...) and so hit safe targets. Whittling down numbers and hoping to get PRs is all they need to do in the early game.
  10. 4 of 2 is here.... after I was voted for by Minga, I contacted her by PM to claim. I AM THE TOWN VIG. To make this quicker, here's the whole message I sent Minga: ---------------- Hey Minga... I hate to do this, but you're at the top of my townie list since there hasn't been any counterclaims to your investigation. I'm the town vig. I stayed home night 1 since it would have been a crapshoot, and I killed fhomess night 2. I know that looks like an OMGUS kill since he temporarily voted for me, but I thought he was scum because of his low posts and comfortable spots in the voting bandwagons (in addition to some pingy posts). I was wrong, but that was my logic. Obviously this will looks suspicious to you since I'm claiming under duress, but so be it. I'd rather not claim publicly, but if I'm close enough to getting lynched I certainly will. If fo no other reason than to make sure the town knows the vig is gone so we don't repeat the Ragnarok insanity. And I'm assuming clem's gotten some role by now, so my role wouldn't be confirmed by death. I was planning to stay home tonight since we're at great risk of losing, but if the block has a plan, tell me where to shoot. ------------- So lynch me if you will, but you'll be losing the town vig. And like Hannah just said, those who voted against me after Minga's retraction do look suspicious.
  11. Ooooh, now you're implicated with Rip and Bock - you must all 3 be scumbuddies! Did I do that right?
  12. No, I bought up NEW data to support a vote in addition to the previous discussion. I suppose to make you happy I should have quoted the entire rest of the day as support for my vote? And as for my flopping around that you made such a big deal of, isn't that what you'd expect townies to do? We don't know who's scum and town until they're dead. So yeah, I leave my options open like when I said maybe I'd vote Clem, maybe not. Depends on how the rest of the day went. And as discussions occurred, I changed my mind at times.
  13. If we were playing roulette, you'd have a logical point. But we're not; the behavior of scum is not statistically random. It's people acting in ways they think are logical, so they they'll do similar things over and over. So then yes, betting based on past actions DOES make sense.
  14. What game was that? It was apparently so minor I forgot all about it! Since you've questioned my logic here... I went back through old games. I checked each day 1 final vote tally and grabbed any where there were two decent wagons (I ignored games that were near unanimous votes). I then checked who was town vs scum. Here's what I found going all the way back to Ragnarok Now Redux. Scum are in red. Party Lines Mafia town Carol Nottingham (Calanon) - 10 (Brickeloden, Speedy, TPRU, jluck, Piratedave, Walter Kovacs, Stickfig, Lego Spy, mostlytechnic, Adam) scum Addie Tremain (adventurer1) - 4 (Bob, Goliath, badboytje88, Scaevola) town Bryant Laughlin (Brickelodeon) - 1 (adventurer1) Red Menace town Monty Thornton (mostlytechnic): 4 (Bob, Peanuts, JimBee, adventurer1) town Jerry Bergeron (JimBee): 7 (PirateDave84, CallMePie, Endgame, mostlytechnic, Speedy, Mencot, jluckhaupt) Excalibur TNG town Willie Spencer (Tohst): 1 ( getdamonkey) town Adam Powers (jluckhaupt): 3 (Comrade Commander, Calanon, vampyre78) town Melinda Fox (Xenophobic Monoxide): 4 (Tohst, Lego Spy, TheLazyChicken, jluckhaupt) scum Greg Kennedy (Lego Spy): 2 (Dragonfire, Xenophobic Monoxide) town Emily Goodwin (Dragonfire): 1 (lego3364) town Emma Lane (vampyre78): 1 (adventurer1) Ragnarok Now Redux town Petr Half-Troll (Piratedave84): 12 votes (Captain Nemo, jamesn, Cornelius Murdock, Hinckley, CallMePie, Rick, Fugazi, LegoDad, Waterbrick Down, Palathadric, Captain Genaro, Darkdragon) town Sigrid (Sisco): 8 votes (Piratedave84, Bob, def, Scubacarrot, fhomess, Trumpetking, WhiteFang, Mencot) Non-voters: 2 (Sisco, Kristel) And you know what that shows? The scum never all vote together! If there's more than 1 wagon, they're on both of them. Therefore, I conclude there are scum on the Clem wagon from our day 1.
  15. I also added my roles to make the info complete Thank you for someone besides me finally getting that point!
  16. Since you (and Seamus) are so caught up in my scum experience, I went through and updated my sig. I've been scum 3 times. And no, not 4 because when this is over I'll be changing that line to say I played as 4 of 2, TOWNIE.
  17. I didn't look on mafiasscum until people questioned why I said scum watcher. I said it because the role makes logical sense. There's town and scum blockers. There's town and scum killers. Etc. So I didn't think anything would be odd in mentioning a scum watcher doing something logical for a scum watcher to do. When suddenly me saying "scum watcher" became a big deal, I looked on the wiki.
  18. No, you're misquoting me. I'm saying YOU shouldn't be shocked at the idea of a scum watcher because hosts like to try new things. I thought of scum watcher because it makes sense (as evidenced by it normal by mafiascum standards) and didn't know that apparently it violates some unwritten EB mafia rule to have.
  19. Well if one minor statement by me and one night action by Paul means we're on the same team, then he's town. Because I am. Or MAYBE you're making too much out of nothing. I mean, you're not far off here from saying "player X used the word 'indeed' yesterday and player Y used it today, they MUST be quoting off the scum board together!" And since you mentioned it, yes, you are And yes, I've read the conclusions and so forth - but that doesn't mean I memorized every night action that has ever been used. Why would I assume that no scum team has ever had a watcher on EB when I haven't played in every game ever, haven't been scum very often, and it's explicitly normal according to mafiascum? It seems to me like a logical role to give the scum, so therefore something I didn't even think twice about mentioning. If we've had pill games and shape-shifters and so forth, why would me thinking that the scum might have a watcher be so inconceivable to you? You do love to make a big deal out of people reading and not posting. Remember, most of us have jobs on this planet. And the last post I read from you (before this latest couple) was the "why haven't people voted?!?!?!" post - and I HAVE. So I didn't feel the need to respond to your bolded tantrum.
  20. But that's not what you're doing. You're just repeating questions that have already been addressed multiple times. So I'm done with this topic.
  21. My PMs to both Seamus and Bock were after the night action deadline. Seamus I contacted during the night between day 2 and 3. Bock I didn't contact until Seamus started talking about your codes in day 3. More importantly, I did NOT and COULD NOT have compromised anyone - you ONLY gave me the names of Seamus and Bock, NOT Nathan or Vasquez. I had no idea they were involved in the code system until they were brought up today. And also, why did you NOT give Seamus and Bock any names like you did me? How were they supposed to connect with the rest of the code if you had died? By that logic, which one of us dropped the topic days ago (and TRIED to drop it even before that, but Seamus et al kept bringing it up) and which one of us is wasting time with re-beating a dead horse now? Heck, I even answered some of Seamus's smaller questions via PM just to try to stop the public distraction that it had become.
  22. Nope, but since pretty much every single game here the host has tried SOMETHING new, I don't restrict my thinking to only the normal. I've also only been scum a couple times, so I'm honestly not that familiar with the "normal" scum team setup. Just noticed that my sig doesn't state side on a bunch of the games, but it's only been 2 or 3 games I've been scum IIRC. And it's not like it's that outlandish of a role. Heck, Mafascum wiki declares watcher to be normal on either alignment. Not just townie. Because I was thinking out loud. Hypothetical scenarios. Heard of em? Apparently though a few people couldn't follow my logic and kept asking... it wasn't meant to be a long discussion of how to claim to clem. It was looking at her as town vs scum, and the claiming idea was a side thought. I knew it was a bad idea so I said not to IN THAT VERY SAME POST so people didn't think it was a real suggestion. Moving on to my vote for zipzop.... here's all the day 1 votes, with proven townies in green: 11 votes for Doctor Wen (Xenophobic Monoxide): (Mediumsnowman, Hinckley, Tariq, Bob, Captain Nemo, TinyPiesRUs, CallMePie, Fhomess, Piratedave84, Jluck, Ranger of the Forest) 6 votes for Clementine Lister (Lind Whisperer): (Chromeknight, Sir Stig, Xenophobic Monoxide, Lazychicken, Lady K, Dragonfire) 1 vote for Vasquez Rodriguez (Lady K): (Lind Whisperer) 1 vote for Hannah Ford (Ranger of the Forest): Mostlytechnic I'm assuming there's 4 scum and a SK. I know I'm town, and I think Clem is town. So that means all the scum are on the Clem and Wen bandwagons. Would ALL the scum really be on one? Especially when the voting was a bit split most of the day? It's not like it was a total runaway mass vote like when the investigator announces they've found a scum. So yes, I think there is scum voting Clem on day 1.
  23. I agree that zipzop's supposed code was overly complicated. Until today, I didn't, since I thought it was 3 people. I assumed from his initial PM that Seamus and Bock each got a list of some names with numbers, and then I had the "key" which would tell us which number was the tracker. I had no idea (and still don't understand) what all he was trying to do.
  24. Nutshell : I got a piece that said the highest number was the tracker, and that Seamus and Bock had the other pieces. That's all I knew until more names started flying in today's discussion.
