Blacktron Mafia: Day 4, Razor Racer
mostlytechnic replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I don't. I'm playing the odds here. There's 11 of us still alive, so probably 6 or 7 non-scum, so the odds of the scum targeting Seamus is around 15%. AND OH YEAH, I KNOW I'M TOWN so therefore my logic that he's alive as a distracting to the town makes complete sense.- 194 replies

I said very clearly the first time that my slight town read on him is BECAUSE you're alive and fixated on us both. The fact that you're alive should give everyone a town-read on both of us. And congrats on a successful rick-roll... my kids were in the room while I was reading your post so I clicked the link to show them the video. And got a surprise.... I don't, which is why I've never said the the blocked person IS scum, I've said over and over that they're very likely scum and it'd be a great place to start looking tomorrow. Oh, and Seamus... I know you've lied many times as town before. There ARE reasons to do it, when you're trying to trap someone or mislead scum. That doesn't mean Paul is town, but it DOES show that liar is not always scum. (and yeah, I know I still haven't given you an in-depth study of Paul. I will when I get a chance. )- 194 replies

If we were scum, why would we care who was blocked? Calling for who was blocked would be calling for the scum killer to be revealed, not something the scum would want. And I never asked for WHO the blocker or protector are, so not like I was trying to learn PRs. I specifically wanted to know (and still do, since the block has gotten quiet after giving us one scum name... that's fine for today, but if the investigator doesn't turn up another scum tomorrow, we will NEED to know who was blocked!) who was blocked since they are very very very likely to be scum. Period. Isn't that the definition of being townie? Oh, you mean the whole list of statements from Minga that Paul already gave you from this? Where Minga pretty much said that it's got all the info of who is town and who is scum? Yes, you do have blinders on about me. You know what blinders do? They keep horses from SEEING THE REALITY AROUND THEM. And I already explained how the very best thing the scum have done is let you live, so that you can continue misleading the town with your constant focus and attacks on me. And I also already addressed the scum on both bandwagon thing - with both the fact that Zipzop is potential scum and on the wagon in question, and the other day by presenting FACTUAL DATA from multiple games here that the scum DO always split their vote. It's the closest thing we've got to actual data to find scum. I haven't seen you do any analysis that in-depth about any of your supposed scum-tells... Ah, I'm guessing THIS is the questions you torqued that I haven't answered. Well, maybe if you'd quit badgering me and screaming over and over that I'm scum, I'd have time to look at Paul more critically rather than defending myself. The only defense I've done of Paul is when it's been directly related to me and come up in that context. But frankly, YES, I'm ok with him pushing Minga in the day thread for results. It's initial posts sure seemed to say that it knew who scum were and we both were impatiently waiting for some answers. We've wasted so much time this game debating codes and players on the ledge and other crap that having some actual night results sounded like a massive relief, so then when Minga kept dancing rather than saying (like it FINALLY did) that it was still waiting for the investigator's result, it felt very off. As for fishing for the investigator? Dunno, I'll have to go reread that section before making a conclusion. His scummy posts have been more scummy in your eyes than anyone else's. No, he hasn't handled everything the best, but you've been pounding him like you have me, so I know how he feels and how easy it is to get frustrated and flustered and do dumb things. I'm not going to lynch someone for that. Yes, his targeting himself last night was a dumb move. So what? It's not like that's the lie a scum would tell, because he had to assume someone WOULD target him in some fashion last night, so if he was lying about his role, that wouldn't be a smart lie to make. So he either did a dumb PR action as a townie, or he made a dumb lie as a scum. I think the former makes more sense. Scum have someone on their side helping them make GOOD plans. Yes, I obviously meant page 3. and you know, Randy, when you scream ALL THE TIME people start to tune you out and not listen anymore. And you've repeatedly asked questions over and over that have been answered, so I figured it was easier to answer everything than to figure out which of your bazillion questions you were talking about. So yes, I am copping a bit of an attitude.- 194 replies

Sir Seamus, since you're so demanding and I'm not sure what questions you want me to answer, I'm just going through all of the day and finding anything I might not have answered enough for you. Yep, if I had any way to know the vig was dead and that I could make such a claim. So since we know the vig was alive night 2 to make a kill... the only way it would have worked would be for one of the townies killed night 2 to have been the vig. Meaning IF I was scum, it'd have been a VERY risky role to claim since we KNOW KNOW KNOW the vig was alive going into night 2. So face it, the logical conclusion from me claiming vig is that I AM THE VIG. And therefore I'm town. I never said that was my part of the code, you were totally confused for quite a while because you wouldn't slow down and read before spewing your latest theories. And I never said "nice analysis" to Nathan. I said THANKS for the analysis and that I was going to check some things, which I did, and quickly came back and shot his analysis full of holes. Because I took a few minutes to think before I said more. Nope, I'm not the one who said I'd gotten different parts of the code in different posts I'd made, that was YOU who couldn't keep straight what part you had. Ok, that's page 1 and 2 of the day. On to day 3! Be right back...- 194 replies

Dude, settle down and take a breath. Just be willing to consider that your set of scumtells and townie/scummo actions are not 100% set in stone and some people think differently than you. For example, I learned long ago that no one on EB will even think about the possibility of a no-lynch day 1 because there's just SO MUCH INFO to learn from the voting. Except wait, you'd still learn the same info even if it ended in a split vote and therefore no one got lynched. And despite the fact that when I brought it up many games ago I had data where someone on another site had done studies of the past games and found that no lynch day 1 INCREASED the odds of a town win. But no, people here won't even think about that because that's just not how it's done here, and so suggesting it is scummy. Even though it makes total TOWN sense. Oh I'm sorry that on a Friday evening I might need to get home from work, have dinner with my family, and get the kids in bed before I spend a bunch of time going over 7 pages of the thread. I brought it up to remind you that your scumdar isn't 100% truth like you think it is. So far your votes have been 100% wrong. So have many other people's. But then you are absolutely convinced that I'm scum and Paul's scum (and maybe he is, I don't know, I just know I'm not). But slow down and look at other possibilities. Like the possibility that I've told the truth this whole game, I really am the town vig and have done what I could to help the town and my motivation in everything I've said is to help the town win. Has that possibility even crossed your mind?- 194 replies

Well, sounds like the obvious solution is for Paul to post the PMs from where they sent him. If he can't, then he's lying. Or Harriet is, but she also can prove her version of the story. People, just post the PMs so we can find the truth and know who's lying.- 194 replies

Where did I say I was clearly town? I assume you mean where I called myself a definite townie? I meant that I know I am, not that I'm the towniest of townies. But I suspect an issue we're running into is that "newer" players (such as myself and many others) and older players (like Seamus) do things differently. And so things that we say that make sense to us come across as "oh look a scummo!!!!%#@~!" to others. But this is all a discussion for after we get the blacktron out of here. So... sure, I'll go back through today and find whatever you asked me that I didn't respond to, and I'll even look at paul. Although my gut read on him is that he's handling info differently than Seamus AND he's getting frustrated and annoyed with the constant hammering on him (l know I've been there this game, so I'm sure he has too) While I'm talking... been thinking about Zipzop. I'm torn. My read on him without looking at vote patterns is town. I think his code system was confusing to people and a distraction and some people (*cough*Seamus*cough*) got particularly confused and caught up with it, but it didn't strike me as a scummy thing. My whole basis for still ranking him as scum is the day 1 vote wagons. And then my guess is that he and the other scummos thought some code system would be good distraction and townie-looking, he made it way to complex and didn't explain well when we started talking, and it snowballed from there. That's what my gut tells me on him. If we didn't have a scum result on Diamond, I'd be pushing hard for Zip as the lynch for today.- 194 replies

Well, the caffeine is in but nothing really new to add. Got our 7 votes to seal the lynch; maybe if the other 3 can come get their votes on Diamond we can end the day early and get to the night and get another scummo investigated. Drawback to that is missing out on more of the fun SK fight between Seamus and paul :) Although I have to say, I don't have a ton of faith in Seamus' scum-dar. He's looking at me (a definite townie) and Paul (I've got him just slightly townie so far) as the lead scum suspects. And more importantly, everyone he's voted for so far has turned up townie! Granted, that applies to a bunch of people here, but still...- 194 replies

No, you're wrong (at least about me; I can't speak for Paul) and the scum are leaving you alive because you have massive tunnel vision on us and are misleading the town. In fact, the fact that you're alive either means you were a failed kill target OR you're wrong about both of us. Now that I think about it a bit more, you're actually making me lean town on Paul. If either of us were scum, they've have killed you in order to silence you since you're a powerful voice who shouts loudly until people follow you. (if I ever call you Randy by accident, it's because there's a guy I work with like that). You are the biggest risk to Paul and I. No one would suspect anything about you getting nightkilled having a specific reason, since most of the time the scum don't put that much thought into WHO they kill beyond suspected PRs and who won't be protected/watched. Or, you know... zipzop is still there. I'm still leaning scum on him for the same reason I voted him before.- 194 replies

So now you're suggesting there is no SK? That doesn't make sense, since I already explained that I didn't kill night 1. So who was the other killer there? Night 1 there was a scum kill and a SK kill. Night 2 there was SK, scum, and vig kills. Night 3 there was no vig because I stayed home, no scum (probably cause we blocked them or protected the target), and no sk (either blocked, protected against, or stayed home). So, I don't see a 1 shot in there anywhere since the SK killed on night 1.- 194 replies

Can you point to anything you've done this game to help the town? Yup. That's why I'm not giving any credence to the framer idea. If the scum have a framer it'd have been on me or Paul last night.- 194 replies

And seriously, this is so blatant I've gotta bring it up again. Seamus, slow down and read what people are saying before getting on our cases. You asked Paul to quote where the block said they had it all solved, and HE HAD DONE EXACTLY THAT RIGHT BELOW THE SENTENCE OF HIS THAT YOU QUOTED. Wow, solid defense there Pretty sure that's exactly what every caught scum ever has said. Well, except for Ragnarok where they confessed and asked for traitors... but that was just weird.- 194 replies

Awesome! Thanks for sharing Minga! And Seamus, Paul was saying basically everything I would have if I was around. (no, I'm not defending him since I don't know if he's town or scum... just he and I happen to be thinking similarly on this). The biggest this was where you questioned him saying the block had it solved. He quoted over and over where Minga was indicating that. that's the reason I was suggesting a mass claim. IF THEY HAVE IT ALL SOLVED, THEN THERE'S NO REASON TO KEEP SECRETS ANYMORE. If that's not the case, then we need them to say so.- 194 replies

But as I said earlier, if the block truly has this all solved, then it doesn't matter if the scum know the PRs. We outnumber them and can keep it that way. I was primarily calling for a mass claim since the block doesn't seem to be telling us anything other than "we know who the scum are" but not telling us!- 194 replies

What are you even talking about? THE SCUM KNOW WHO THE TOWN IS so it's not telling them anything. If the block tells us who's town and who's scum, then the town finally has as much info as the scum do.- 194 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 4, Razor Racer

But if no one wants to massclaim, fine. Tell us who the claimed townies are that the block trusts so we can take out the scum. Minga says the block has this basically wrapped up, so tell us so we can get this over with.- 194 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 4, Razor Racer

The perceivable benefit is we'd all know who the scum are and we can take them out (with both a lynch AND a vig kill, and maybe get the SK to help depending on his/her win condition), rather than wasting time with the block slowly dribbling info out and fighting over 2 day old codes and other crap.- 194 replies

I don't KNOW the number, but it's the number that makes sense. Um, pretty sure this is the first time you've said that. In all your previous comments you never said that you didn't know the result, just that you weren't sharing it yet. So? What does a massclaim hurt now? The scum know who the town is. Multiple PRs are known. About the only thing they don't know is who the SK is. But from our standpoint, we still outnumber the scum or the game would be over. Therefore, since we have a lynch and a vig kill still, we should be easily able to win still. Worst case, the town takes out 2 scum a day. The scum take out a townie, and the SK takes out another. We still win. I stayed home because the block asked me to. And it made sense since they didn't have a guaranteed scum to take out. IF there's 5 scum and I had killed a townie, we'd have lost. As a townie, who was protected is irrelevant to my analysis of scum identities. Knowing who was blocked is VERY relevant, since they're very likely a killer since we were missing 2 kills last night.- 194 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Day 4, Razor Racer

Yep, we narrowed down the pool by lynching half the town Let's take a look at everyone: 4 of 2 (Mostlytechnic) - Claimed town vig Bock Pathos (Bob) - Clementine Lister (Lind Whisperer) - claimed backup Diamond Dodd (CallmePie) - Hannah Ford (Ranger of the Forest) - Harriet Stomper (Mediumsnowman) - Minga Gorgon (Dragonfire) - claimed cleared Nathan 'Maurice' Mallard (TinyPiesRUs) - Paul Harkonnenn (Piratedave84) - claimed watcher Seamus Aaron (Hinckley) - Zipzop Beetlejuice (Sir Stig) - So we've got 4 people claiming something and 7 with no public claims. Now, assuming we've got a couple other roles that the town block knows (the investigator, blocker, etc), it doesn't take much to have the 6 town identified. Then the remaining 5 are a SK and 4 scum. Done. Frankly, I think we're basically at the point (based on our numbers) that we should just mass claim, lay everything out, and have the scum known to everyone. Unless the town block has a reason NOT to believe one of the existing claims, I don't see any reason not to.- 194 replies
