  1. I also disagree with this public blocker claim. However, I will confirm that he initially told me he was a pineapple-giver when I asked about him being seen, and then later (after we'd talked more in private, but before the night) admitted he was really the blocker. I have zero idea if the pineapple thing was a coincidence, someone else, or a hint in the pictures.
  2. I was responding to your quote of Robert asking for the pineapple-giver to claim. He's apparently decided that the photos indicate what happened at night, which is typically not true.
  3. Cecilia, I don't really know what to say other than I do have a night 2 result to share later today. That will help clarify things. I am deliberately holding off so that everyone can discuss. I agree that there was way too much claiming in private. I have NO idea why people started... It made sense that I talked to Jafar and then he claimed to me. Beyond that, there should have been no claiming. As for the pineapple - why are people assuming that the pictures have anything to do with what happened during the night? We have 4 people who have made NO comment yet today. We really need that corrected before I make any more info known.
  4. Curious why you say the whole lot of them (Jafar, David, Jasper) look bad - the odds of them all being scum is close to zero. Any leaning on which you think are scum and which are town?
  5. After the craziness yesterday, I waited till the last minute (ok, the last hours) before today's thread went up and then sent the following message to several people. There's no real reason to hide it, since I 100% know the scum have this message. I waited till the last minute because I KNEW that at least one of the people I was going to message would be scum, just not which one(s) yet. I didn't want to impact their night plans by sharing too soon. *** PM begins *** Ok... here's what I know in case I got killed overnight. If I survive, this is what I plan to tell the whole game at the start of the day. I am the town investigator. On night 1, I checked out Jafar (JJP). He was reported to me as town. So then on day 2 I claimed to him and told him he'd been cleared. He replied that he was the tracker. On night 1 he checked Todd (Tariq) and saw him target Jeffrey (Dragonfire). I later confirmed this with Todd and he said he was the pineapple deliverer. Out of nowhere on day 2, I was contacted by Jasper (Piratedave), who said he knew someone who had seen me visiting someone night 1. [this is basically the 3-act story that Jasper shared, but my side of it]. He and I danced around a little, not really trusting each other. But then he slipped and let me know that David (fhomess) was the person who gave him the info. I still don't know why David claimed to Jasper... but he did. I talked to David and found out that he claims to be the tracker and saw me visiting Jafar. First thing when I had these conflicting claims was double-check with both what exactly their role was and that they were claiming tracker. Both confirmed that - that they see who someone targets, a traditional tracker. So now the dilemma.... 1. We could have 2 trackers. Seems unlikely in a relatively small game. 2. Both trackers are scum. In that case, Jafar told David what I had done for some reason (such as being able to claim to Jasper). For this to be true, they would have had to both pick to claim tracker instead of 1 tracker and 1 watcher. It also would require David to be VERY careful not to reveal that he knew I was the investigator, because as far as I can tell, he didn't know WHAT my role was until now. In fact, he told Jasper that he didn't trust me) 3.Most likely is that one of them is lying, or is a scum tracker. However, David correctly knew who I had visited before I told him, and I have a town result on Jafar. So then one option is that Jafar is actually the godfather and fake-claimed his tracker role to me for some unknown reason (building trust and trying to infiltrate the town block? Assumed that I'd trust him more if he claimed something instead of claiming vanilla? It also requires that he know that Todd targeted Jeffrey, which would imply that Todd is scum as well!) The other option is David is lying - he DOES have accurate info, so then he'd have to be a scum tracker For night 2 I investigated David. If I'm alive, I'll share the results of that. If I'm dead, well, then share this information with the town and good luck to Shield! *** PM ends *** Now, I don't want to kill off discussion, since there is a LOT to talk about. I will say I do have a result on David, but I really want to see what the group thinks before I spoil the surprise of "where's Hydra?" I'll probably announce the result in a little while, once we've hashed things out a bit. Yep. Unless it's a repeat of the tales I read about some assassins in a Kingdom. But that's highly unlikely. This game has had a TON of PM action going on and private claims... so I will say I have been in contact with people claiming doc and blocker, so I think we'll be able to get the info on who was blocked. But if there's anyone that wants to make a counterclaim on doc or blocker, please PM me immediately! Oh, and good job SK or vig! If there's an SK in the house, let's talk. Our Shield win conditions do not require that we kill you, so we may be able to work together... We may need some help making all the kills today in fact! oops: when I said info on who was blocked, I meant info on both who was blocked and who was protected, since both are potential reasons for no scum kill. Then we'll have to narrow down which it is.
  6. I'm going to Vote: James Cunningham (bob) Why? Because I know I'm not scum, but I'm not convinced that Steven is so I don't want to join that bandwagon. I think those who ARE jumping on a wagon without any real basis are scummy looking right now, so I picked James since he voted without much reason.
  7. The whole thing reeks to me, since there's way too much claiming to people without reason. I just don't get that. Unless one of these night actions was an investigator, why is anyone trusting anyone with role claims?
  8. Are you sure you've got all your persons right there? It's an interesting story, but parts are confusing. For example, in Act 1 you say that Person A saw Person B visit Person C. That means person A is the watcher or tracker. But then you have person B ask person A about their role, when I'd expect that question going the opposite direction. Then you have in act 2 person A tell C that person B contacted C - person B didn't contact C that I can see, just did something during the night. By "contact" I'd assume you all mean talk in PM. And in Act 3, what "answer" from Person B is interesting? They've hardly said anything that you've stated here. Overall, I think jumping to the conclusion that C is the scum killer and was blocked is premature - maybe go with that if you know that B is the blocker, but I don't see any indication here that B ever revealed their role. Otherwise, there's WAY too many options to lynch C just on that one thing.
  9. No, I don't think the lack of a quick pile on Eugene indicates he's scum. I said in the second post that it'd be a interesting and daring play by scum to do that, and I don't think the scum around here are generally that bold. Especially on day 1 when they like to stay quiet and hide.
  10. Quite the impressive memory there. I myself don't even remember that - I had to check my sig to see that I'd even been IN Main St Mafia! To argue the other side... would it really put them under suspicion? That's actually possibly a clever scum play. All of them jump on, because later, when a scum or two have been caught, the other scum would be NOT suspects because who would ever think the 3 or 4 scum would all vote in a block like that?
  11. Decent analysis and definitely worth considering. One flaw I see right away - don't put TOO much stock in the fact that scum didn't pile on Eugene to get a quick lynch. Day 1 is the time scum stay fairly quiet and don't lead. Even if Eugene was the towniest of townies they probably wouldn't risk being in a group piling the votes on him unless someone else started it.
  12. Officially, check rule 10. And note that that rule was NOT originally in the game. There normally is a stated rule that there's no info or clues in the story/pictures. I noticed during the confirmation phase that rule was missing so I asked Sir Fury about it. He said it was an oversight and edited the rules to add it. Based on that, even though it says "probably not," I'm assuming that there are no real clues. It's likely that someone has a prank night action that caused that, so in a way the pictures are showing someone visiting him during the night (which may or may not be visible to a watcher/tracker), but it does NOT necessarily mean a "real" role visited him (such as a doc or investigator or whatever).
  13. What they investigated (assuming the scum have some rolecop or something) has no bearing on who they killed, since they would have to pick a kill target before knowing any investigative results. Well, some players around here love to start PMs with almost everyone... so it would be POSSIBLE to start chatting with someone just to have a contact going before telling them anything, but generally, unless you chat a ton in PM in games, the doc should not be contacting their protectee yet.
  14. Ok.... it sounded to me like you meant for the doc to talk to the person they protected and essentially claim to them, since they'd presumably be town (going by your assumption that the scum were prevented) but since we don't know that they were, plus even if they were prevented, it could have been due to the blocker and not the doc, it's too too too risky to claim to the protectee. However, the identity of the protectee is definitely info that could be useful down the road, once there's a town block and someone to give info to. But no, I have no idea why the scum would have taken out poor Kinjobby. Wouldn't have been my first choice as them, that's for sure. Perhaps he was a victim of a serial killer and the scum were indeed prevented?
  15. Not sure I agree with you there Jeffrey - you're making some bold moves suggesting that a doc reveal themselves on the assumption that there was a blocked scum kill, when a more simple explanation is that the vig stayed home (as they should have) and the scum took out our pizza guy, hoping to starve us all.
  16. So now stating true facts is a non-Shield thing to do? I wish it was not true and that the town had a way to reliably lynch on day 1, but we don't. And I've often in the past suggested no-lynch day 1, but that is always shot down. Frankly though, it's part of why I haven't moved my vote over (even though I've got several votes on me and so joining the wagon would be the safe, self-preserving thing to do) - I'd rather have a no lynch than have a townie get lynched, and there's probably about 80% odds that a townie is getting lynched if we to take someone out today. Since the day is near end and we have a number of new (and new-er) faces around here... lemme throw out some thoughts on night roles for whoever has them (and obviously, other Shield members please jump in with your thoughts as well!) Vig: Unless you're required to kill every night, you should not kill night 1. And maybe not night 2 either. At this point in the hunt there's too little to go on and the odds are against you. It's way too easy to kill off a fellow Shield and it's not worth the risk. Investigator: Frankly, it's probably best for you to find a townie tonight. Then you can talk to them in private and begin building a town block. They can share if they learned anything, and you can use them later to speak to the town when you have found info worth sharing. Doctor: Night 1, it's a crapshoot for you. You probably don't have anyone you really want to protect yet (since no one's been forced into claiming yet today). It's probably worth you protecting someone for the 2 in 15 odds that you protect the person the scum or serial killer target, but it's also a slight risk that someone catches you. Most of the investigative roles are town though, so that risk is low. Watcher/tracker: Whatever you learn night 1 is not telling you much yet, UNLESS you catch a killer. If you track someone, see them visit person B, and person B turns up dead, you probably just found a scum or the SK. Not a guarantee, since there could have been multiple people visitng person B. Ditto for a watcher - if you watch someone, they have a visitor, and the person you watch dies, that visitor is probably scum or SK. In either case, it's likely worth outing yourself tomorrow to share that news and trust that the doc can protect you tomorrow night (I know, that's debatable). I would NOT reveal the info right away though since that'd kill discussion tomorrow. Blocker: Like the doc, not a whole lot for you to do since you probably don't have great reads on anyone yet. I'd be somewhat inclined for you to stay home, since the odds of you blocking a fellow Shield are higher than the odds of you blocking scum. SK: You're not town, but odds are good that you can win with us, so try to kill Hydra since there's less of them. We will almost certainly kill you when we find you, since you can't be trusted to side with us, but you have better odds of persuading us to spare you if you've got a few Hydra scalps to show off. For more info on these roles as well as other, less common, roles that may be floating around, check out the MafiaScum Wiki
  17. I'll grant that "day 1 is random votes till something starts to stick" is a crappy fact for the town, but that doesn't diminish the fact that it is indeed a factual statement. When has the town ever had anything to really base a day 1 vote on? I sure don't remember it ever happening. Day 1 is tossing votes around until a wagon gets up enough steam to reach a majority. That's just how it is, and it's why being able to look back at the vote patterns later is important. No, I did not defend you. There's a big difference between what I did and defending you. When person A says something dumb about person B, I can address person A's comments without it meaning I'm defending person B. If Alyssa doesn't show up, I'd gladly vote her out when there's nothing more substantial to base a vote on. I guess I wasn't clear earlier. When I said I'd move my vote later unless others joined me, I meant that if others joined me, I'd see her reaction and then keep the vote on her if warranted. Incomplete thought there in my post, sorry. More importantly, she did bother to appear since my poke just long enough to throw an obvious OMGUS vote my way. Frankly, that makes me seriously think about unvoting her because it's such a "scummy" reaction that it's too obvious for her to normally have done that. She's better than that when she's scum. And someone else asked about who's not been around... well, at this point all 16 of us have said something today. But James Cunningham, Hailey Coleman, and Alyssa have each spoken just twice, and Cecilia Reed, Walter Williams, and David Leffel have only spoken thrice. Everyone else is at 5 or more.
  18. Yeah, have to say my mustache is pinging at the bandwagon building on Mr. Schram. I haven't been getting Hydra vibes off him, just new guy vibes. And we were all that once. But I don't know where his allegiance lies, I just know that the voting on him looks suspiciously like people (including almost certainly a Hydra or 3) picking an easy target.
  19. Hey - I openly said that the vote for Alyssa is a poke and yes I certainly will move it before the end of the day unless others join me. Would you rather I was like half the people here and just sit back quietly, wait for a consensus to start building, and then quickly join the bandwagon? That doesn't seem like a very SHIELD way of handling things. I'd much rather be aggressive and hunt the Hydra! It "looks townie" because it IS and I AM. Day one is always about random votes being thrown till something starts to stick.
  20. Me too, but I sorta doubt it since there's the fairground Friends sets coming. Too bad those really don't fit with the mixer and ferris wheel that we already have. The roller coaster looks pretty lame (that's a TOUGH ride to do well in Lego, so I'm surprised they tried) and the games might work if some colors were replaced.
  21. Ditto to both. My vote was largely a joke, but also to get some conversation and activity going since no one else was. I don't think Jasper's done anything particularly scummy (even the call-out of the edit doesn't feel that way to me, he was just educating a new guy around here and it's not like Mr Fury would have missed an edit...). But my vote on him DOES serve to see who else jumped quickly on a bandwagon. Very interesting, and definitely people I'll be watching (Pizza dude, Todd, that's you I'm speaking of!) So, with reactions noted, I'll now Unvote: Jasper (Piratedave84) and instead I'll Vote: Alyssa Turner (CallMePie) because you've been so quiet that I had to go look up what your name was!
  22. LOVE this set - enough that I bought it day 1 and built it over the next few nights. It's pretty sturdy once built and definitely big. The one thing I don't care for is the colors. I'd love to redo mine in bolder colors - regular blue instead of light on the legs, red/yellow/orange or something for the cars, etc - but there's not many color options available for the cars. One nit on the review - that's not a net under the cars. There's no need for a safety net. That's the platform to walk on to board the ride, and it can be raised and lowered to make it easier to get in but lower to make sure cars don't hit it when the ride is moving at speed.
  23. Well, since Jasper there can't seem to pay enough attention to know the technician from the pizza boy - I mean, come on, it's not like you mixed up two aliens or two guys in uniforms, you mixed up the PIZZA BOY with a guy in a bright orange suit! - I'm going to poke him with a Vote: Jasper Heinz (Piratedave84)
  24. Oh, because having the first line of the block say "currently" makes it too hard to find? Do you tactical guys find reading hard?
  25. So... first, we obviously aren't doing absolutely nothing. I see lots of food there. We're clearly eating on a union-mandated break time. Harumph. Second, since rule 10 explicitly allows for wild speculation, I suggest that we have a hint here in the story and should begin by lynching David for day 1. All in favor? Anyone? No? Oh, so you're just going to leave the 'stache hanging. Thanks.
