True but since all the sets are based on the movies then i prefer movie like Gondor soldiers as well.
-
I don't agree. The most recognizable item for me is the Gondor helmet and there is nothing that resembles it currently available. I don't consider this a proper replacement: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=3844

Heh it looks like that because that's how it started - by buying the original set and the slowly enlarging it a little bit. Glad you like it.

Not shown in the movies but Dwarfs were also part of Last Alliance forces (some fought on Sauron's side too):

Thanks! I bough the whole minifig here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/LORD-RINGS-figure-custom-SAURON-DARK-LORD-MORDOR-DISPLAY-STAND-/151596117725?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item234bd52edd . The price is high but with Middle Earth themes over i dont have anything else to spend my "lego" money on. :)

MOC Erebor base on Hobbit the battle of five armies
sahidko replied to Migalart's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Excellent! Those two dwarwen statues are unbelievable. Really really great job. -
To me as well please. :)
-
Nice, do you plan to buy those for Hobbit as well?
-
Very nice. I guess the glass cabinet is a good option against the dust. I have to clean my Lego quite often...
-
Don't worry, he is there Thanks, any picture?

Thanks guys, still missing few things (rock on the left side) but i like it as well. :) Btw few more pictures here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=100700#entry2014517 Whatabout you? How are you displaying you sets? Or you scrap them for MOCing?
-
Hey guys, Since now it's pretty sure that we won't get more LOTR or Hobbit sets i would like to know how you are displaying Hobbit/LOTR sets you own. Pictures are welcomed. :) (If there is already topic like this, sorry didn't find it) I will start: Looking forward to see your collections. :)

Last Alliance - Battle of Dagorlad, for now just playing with minifigs, plan for the future is to build some normal base as well. Noldor elves lead by Gilgalad and Elrond holding their positions Despite the orders from Gilgalad and poor equipment, Oropher (here played by minifig of his son) lead his Silvan elves to an immediate attack, dying in one of the first skirmish Amdir and his host of Lorien elves will be cut off from main forces and later perish together with half of his men in a place that will later become known as Dead Marshes Sauron in action "But there were some who resisted" Elendil & Isildur coming As you can see it's a mix of both book and movie version, picking parts i like. :)

Thanks guys, i will never forgive Lego that they didnt give us any proper Gondor soldiers but now i am at least a little bit satisfied. I hoped i will be somehow able to get these helmets (http://www.classic-c...hp?f=14&t=25662) for Isildur and Elendil but didnt work out. Well you can't have everything you want right.

You are lucky that this was probably meant for Hobbit thred only...
-
No problem...Yep they turned out quite nicely considering 3 parts (helmet, torso, shield) from 3 different creators.

As i mentoined in one of the posts above the quality varies. Some helmets are perfect, others too tight or too loose. EDIT: forgot to put link for the torso: http://www.ebay.com/itm/CASTLE-FANTASY-HOBBIT-LORD-OF-THE-RINGS-2-GREY-GONDOR-SOLDIER-TORSOS-LEGS-/400847748387?pt=UK_Construction_Toys_Kits&hash=item5d54633d23

From this guy: http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=Dan76 The quality could have been better. Some of the helmets i received are either too loose or too tight.

Not 100% satisfied of course, but something is better than nothing. :)

If this is really true then I am sorry Lego but the way you handled this theme can be only described as Disappointment. Another variation of second if not third tier character is a complete joke..

Yeah but i think he also said he is done with doing trilogies after LOTR and we all know how that ended. :D
