Thanks a lot for the pictures Carlos! Well seeing the whole building has not really changed my disappointment with this set. Ballista too big, tower too small...
The problem is the license. We all know it's going to expire (just dont know when) and i am not sure LEGO would think about extending it just for the sake of 2 sets every year. Doesn't look very profitable to me unfortunately.
I just finished the tower. I really enjoyed building it but afterwards i realized that might be the last LOTR set i have ever built and that made me sad.
My problem with ballista is that it again looks too big. I remember my surprise when i found out that the ballista from UHA is as tall as the wall of Helms deep. And because of that i excluded it from my modified Helms deep display. I am generally not a big fan of war machines in LOTR/Hobbit sets: ballista (UHA), catapult (Pirate ship ambush), double catapult (DGA)...But on the other hand i understand they had to include something for children to play.
Hey guys, i have a question as well. I have every LOTR set (well one just on the way but..) and most of the Hobbit sets (excluding polybags). I am missing the two big ones: The Goblin King Battle and Dol Guldur Battle. What is your perspective on these two? I am not into MOCs so it would be purely for display purposes. Should i buy them or not, what do you think?
Well they are my favourite books so i will definitely read them again. And LOTR brought me back to Lego as well - yesterday i ordered Orthanc which will complete the collection. Can't wait honestly. :)
The problem is that i might not be the most representative sample. I've read the books like 10 times (including Silmarillion, Hobbit, Unfinished Tales, Children of Hurin) and i've seen the whole trilogy more than 5 times as well. I am not sure that globally is that many of us out there.
