US just got an email for double VIP on December 14, so you guys got the better deal :) (assuming they're still in stock Jan 5 ;)

The more I look at your schematic, the more I am tempted to try and build it. Cavegod's has always been a bit ambitious for me, but 4k pieces is doable. In terms of your design, do you think the 8 2x2 connection points to the undercarriage is enough to support the weight of that cockpit being that far forward?

That is a wonderful looking AT-AT, Reflexes. Did you ever get the chance to build it?
-
I don't know that you can tell that from the video. Initially it seems to be canted, but later on it looks like it does. Regardless, a few degrees of cockpit rotation is not a big deal. Also, I like what they did with the instruction manual. Nice review too.

Hopefully Christmas Day with early VIP purchase ;)

I think if you left the stickers and the single 1x2 tile off, it would still look good. That being said, I hate stickers too. The cockpit ones especially.

I like your substitute design for the widescreen--it looks very menacing.

That thing is insane... ly awesome. Words never match the sum of 50,000 pieces masterfully placed in a SW model.

I love the Death Star wall. They should show that room on some HGTV show.

Fantastic model. I particularly like the details of the front guns under the cockpit. Great use of different pieces.

It's good that they've carried it over to 2015 instead of just turning it down though. Also nice to see in a video :) Should increase exposure.

Lego Ideas has a video up officially announcing that Cavegod's ATAT has just been advanced to the next review period for 2015! I can't imagine the price tag on that beast but I know I would pay it https://ideas.lego.com/ Also announced was LDiEgo's awesome Invisible Hand! Congratulations!

Han is going to fire first, right? I love the attention to detail in the side alcoves. Very well done!

Hmm interesting. I was working off this source material: http://www.modelermagic.com/?p=11205 Looking back at the actual movie screens you are correct though. Appears they mislabeled that. I guess I upgraded mine to an Imperial II-class ;)

I picked up a used 10030 recently and decided it was nearly perfect except for the lack of detailing on the engines and the top of the bridge super structure design. For some reason they designed that element in a vertical fashion, instead of horizontally as it is on the original model. So I did a quick change to this: Simple, but definitely changes the look of it. I also raised the height of the super structure a stud and changed the connection point to give it a more smooth and accurate look. I primarily collect UCS models and replicate display mocs, but even I bought the DS. It's just too much fun to build. On a separate note, I wonder if they'll be substituting the newest version of the stormtrooper into it? That would up its value further.

Hmm appears the cockpit might be printed after all. (how can you not remember such a crucial detail?! )

It certainly exceeded my expectations. The engines are great, and you could easily add greebling if you wanted to. It seems like the inside is actually pretty hollow so there might be some possible interior mods as well. Even without mods it's an excellent and complete design, and the price is quite good. A must have for most collectors.

That is excellent. If Lego does go ahead and build modular Cloud City sets, yours could easily be one of them.

I like the ladder that you added to the cockpit. The cockpit is quite nice.

That's a great micro build. Better than TLG ones!

That is a great trench, worthy of expansion!

Good grief, that thing is amazing! The detailing is just tremendous. I'm not even normally a fan of steampunk, but this is a masterpiece.

But then you could make some excellent engine mods which I could copy
