Could we trouble you for a picture of the attachment point/technique you used :)

I think it's fairly conceivable that the wings would rotate independent of the cockpit for atmospheric maneuvering ;) I don't understand the fuss about the non-linkage.

I love the bar. And the booths are excellent.

I raised the side controls and changed the angle of the them. I also added a double-handle steering mechanism and added some pieces behind the cockpit to make it look more like an access entryway.

I added some detailing to mine but I think the stock cockpit is excellent.

The pictures really don't do the set justice. Not only is the set impressive from a build technique standpoint, but it looks fantastic in real life. Other than the odd choice of blue color for the engines, I have no real complaints. The stickers didn't end up upsetting me nearly as much as I thought they would.

The wookie placement is a nice touch ;) Seriously, though, that scene is insane. Amazing work.

My manual mirrors yours. Some of the pages are pretty difficult to tell on.

75093 Final Duel -- Do we know for a fact that this set will center on the ending of ROTJ? I think it would be pretty neat if it was actually the final duel between Obi-Wan and Vader. A nice Death Star hanger with working blast doors and a bunch of new storm troopers would make for an excellent set ;)

Do you plan on modifying the cockpit to make it seat two as in the movie? ;)

You are a master of building internal imperial ship scenes. I loved the executor bridge you had made a while back. That thing was incredible. If that were a set I would buy it in a heart beat!

Nice review. And nice 10123 Boba ;)

But no pictures on your flickr! :(

USA Lego shop website is already out of stock for the next 30 days... which is why I drove 140 miles to get one two days ago! How does Lego keep underestimating demand like this?
-
It would be ridiculous to release an Imperial Walker that wasn't an AT-AT. They don't even know how big a success the new movie is going to be; to make a ~5,000 piece UCS set out of the gate for something with yet-unknown demand would be silly. As for the falcon, they could release a UCS falcon at any point in time and it would probably sell about the same. I don't think episode 7 is what would drive Millennium Falcon sales; the thing is simply legendary, it doesn't need promotion. It's been promoted for almost 40 years now.

Another brick-built radar dish! I thought about making a custom sticker but I've come to like mine as well. Down with the stickers!
-
I think it's definitely worth bricklinking one. If you don't worry about used pieces/old gray vs new gray, and you switch some light gray/dark gray color combos around, you can probably build one for around the original price. Mine came in at $750, but I bought all new pieces and wasn't very patient. Several people have posted some useful guilds on building one. It's a much more fun and rewarding experience to do it that way, imo.
-
Perhaps. Seems an odd choice for a UCS set though, unless it's a reference to an ATAT.

Where is the source/evidence that the Hoth set is going to be a large scale one? I'm not seeing it.
-
Just picked up the UCS Slave 1 at the local Lego store. Went on sale a couple days early!
-
UCS sets can be either. SSD, X-Wing, and Sandcrawler can all be found at Toyrus and amazon.

Picked up a pristine used 10019 for $300 w/ manual. Looks like it had been just sitting in a basement for the last 12 years. The stickers look brand new and no discoloration on any of the pieces. I must say it is one of my new favorite pieces; it looks so much more impressive in person than in pictures.

I'm not sure what the criticism of the back/engine areas is all about. Other than the blue dish color, it's pretty accurate. http://www.modelermagic.com/?p=1835 Working off the model on the right, there isn't much in the way of greebling there, and what lego put on there is pretty decent.
-
Those pictures are much better. The minimal side greebling looks great.
