  1. Thanks m0dulo! So you don't think anymore that it is for LEGO Ideas?
  2. Thanks BusterHaus! Never hesitate to post your work! Each creation is a special opportunity to learn something new; first from building process and then from feedback of people with whom you share it. I like the combination of motors you have used, actually it is the same as in my Lucky 13 but your hot rod is much lighter and faster. It has great handling and very nice soft suspension - Nice video too! It looks like a lot of fun to play with! As you have also mentioned, perhaps it would look better (more realistic) with different placement of motors - I would definitely like to see another hot rod from you!
  3. Thanks for the explanation! I wondered why you used differential, especially because yellow version has no diff... I should've known better!
  4. Great and, almost certainly, one of a kind MOD because of rare and expensive parts used. Kudos for the effort! It looks amazing in black/chrome combination!
  5. Very nice models and great photos! I like the gray one more, but just because I prefer motorized vehicles - they look great and I bet they are very fun to play with! I wouldn't mind to take the gray version for a spin or two but I think It would perform its second main purpose even better without differential.
  6. Great model, looks very realistic! I especially the engine. Compact, light and fast! I like the video too - very nice editing!
  7. m0dulo, I'm glad you like and thank you for your support. I'm not sure this is a model for LEGO Ideas. It has too many custom chrome parts and it is loaded with power functions - would make an expensive set. What do you guys think? Hahahahaha, nice! Thanks for the advice! Thank you, I look forward to see your hot rod! Actually I've already filmed it two days ago, while driving outside. I'll upload the video as soon as I finish editing. It is a great fun to drive it outside but it has two problems, both related with IR receiver: 1. Range - drive outside is fun if you like to walk one step behind it all the way, 2. Range - to make it look more realistic, I've positioned (hidden) IR receiver behind seats, in front of the rear window. Since the roof acts as an obstacle for IR receiver, It can significantly influence your position in relation to the car you are trying to control. Works best if you are behind it or from a side of it. While we're at it, I can't wait to get my SBrick! Thanks Andyrccar! Thanks bjorkan! I hope I'll be able to make them faster.
  8. Thanks erix! To be honest, I would like to have thinner front tires but, fortunately, this combination is good enough. Thank you Zzz! I'm very happy to be here, in fact so much that I'm sorry that I didn't join EB earlier That's a good question! I haven't decided what to do with it yet, but you're right, it is the result of months of work and it would be hard to just take it apart. Fortunately my girlfriend likes it and she is convincing me to keep it. There are three options actually: 1. Keep it as is - it will mean me much more than any official LEGO set and there are always bricklink and Lego stores for parts, 2. Modify it - change its look and/or functions and make another hot rod based on this model, 3. Dismantle it, but with taking pictures of each step to make some kind of instructions.... I'm curious, what would you do? For now, I will just play with it. I've already made a short video of a drag race between it and my motorized 8070 supercar: Third gear was a winner for the Hot rod! First and second were too slow and forth has slow acceleration (but greater max speed so it would be a better choice for longer track)...
  9. Wow, with those two RC motors / 960g, this thing will fly! I really want to see video of it in action! Beautiful color and very nice front suspension! Btw. very nice photography... Overall, it is a great and, I'm sure, extremely fun to play MOC! Great work!
  10. Thank you very much for your comments! I'm really happy that you all like it! MajklSpajkl and TimH, youtube videos of a real hot rods were a great inspiration for all those details. There are some incredibly talented builders and amazing hot rods out there. dhc6twinotter, I've tried to hide all RC parts to make it look more real - apparently, I was successful at first glance. Thanks! Jim, wow, thanks!! :excited: I have to be honest, I didn't know what to expect when I joined EB and I could only dream about such a good response. I'm very happy that I joined EB, you've all made me feel very welcomed.
  11. I'm also new here but welcome to the Eurobricks! Great mini Power Puller! I especially like that small fake engine. 2x V8 = 2x very cool!
  12. Thank you all! I'm very glad you like it! technicfan, I'm sorry but there are no instructions and I didn't planned to make them. To be honest, I'm still new in this and I don't have any experience in making instructions, but If I decide to make the instructions I will let you know
  13. Thank you very much for your comments, I'm really glad you like it! Thank you Technyk32231! You're right, they mostly have live rear axle, I'll keep that in mind for future hot rods - thanks for suggestion! VFracingteam and Horace T, thanks for the warm welcome, It is a great pleasure to be here! Thank you very much for your kind words, it means me a lot!
  14. Wow! Thank you very much!! I'm flattered and extremely happy!
  15. Thank you very much Jim! I'm happy to be here!
  16. Wow, thanks jorgeopesi and PhyBuilder! I wasn't interested in hot rods either until I started making one (mainly because I thought that, due to lack of body parts, it will be lighter = faster). But after studying few real hot rods, in order to make a realistic LEGO version, I became their big fan. Thank you very much! I'm glad you like it!
  17. Thanks! I'm glad you like it! I wanted to gain additional functionality, without adding extra motors/IR receivers, so I used second output of the servo motor for turn signals mechanism (with no custom electrics). Two PF switches are coupled in a way that one is always in the “on” and the other in the “off” position. Mechanically, they’re connected to the servo motor trough 24-teeth gear with clutch. Electrically, PF switches are connected to the IR receiver (same output as the servo motor). So they are simultaneously controlled mechanically (through servo motor – correct switch is turned on when steered) and electrically (through IR receiver – they get current only while steering). Mechanism is simple and small enough to fit behind seats, the only drawback is that signals are not blinking
  18. Hello everyone, I made this pick-up almost two months ago (before I joined Eurobricks) and I would really like to hear your thoughts about it. It is 50 studs long, 28 studs wide, 15 studs high and weighs 1285g. Motorized and remotely controlled - 2L motors (driving), stereo motor (steering), 8878 battery, V2 IR receiver. Front tires from 8070 supercar, rear from 42000 Grand Prix Racer. Working V8 fake engine with some details to make it resemble real V8 engine, connected directly to the driving motors - works at the same speed no matter what gear you choose (in neutral also). Suicide doors with working door handles, Rear doors and roof window can be opened. Fake fuel tank and chrome stripes in the cargo area. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels through 4 gears manual gearbox. Leaf spring suspension with height-adjustable rear (manual with levers in the cargo area). Working turn signals (front and rear) - connected to a servo motor via coupled PF switches. Working steering wheel. Other details and functions that I would like to point out: Retractable license plate (simple manual mechanism). Lights (front and rear) manually controlled with a lever behind steering wheel - connected to a speed dial of 8878 battery (on/off and low/high beam). Working radiator fan, connected directly to a V8 engine. Video of functions: Video of driving outdoors (added 14 August 2014): More photos can be found at: MOCpages - http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/391803 Flickr - https://www.flickr.c...57645075634267/ I hope you`ll like it…
  19. With every review I want it even more. Great job! Light control and especially outside range looks great.
  20. Thanks for the link, great photos! I'll probably buy it, mostly because of front tires. I didn't know how expensive minifigures can be - Thanks Paul for the advice!
  21. I also have two of these - when charging LED light blinks.
  22. Wow! I'm looking forward to the video (two 5292 / 1830g) - what a beast! Can you tell me how much did you gear down the engines? Cool stickers! Good luck at the race!
  23. Nice steering! Simple and effective. Was it possible to use technic chain link? I think that two 16-tooth gears, connected with a chain would be a perfect solution for connection between engine and rear axle.
  24. Congratulations!! I'm very happy for you guys (SBrick team) and looking forward to November! Santa's coming early this year
