If you, or anyone for that matter, want to start a petition to allow this thing, I would not stop you!

AAhhhhh....the beautiful sound of speculation swishing by.......Personally, super excited for the new sets. Perhaps not so much for size or complexity of sets as opposed to the novelty. Seems like we might be delving into some completely new sets this year. Still.....would love to see a tower crane sometime in the near future.

Sadly, because I increased the legs from 3L to 4L for the liftarms on the thighs, I cannot enter the Exo Suit competition. Too bad, I think this would have been a good entry. Because I cannot enter it, I am posting it here. I have seen a lot of good renditions of the suit, but to be honest, I thought people would be modding this more! Such a fun build. If the rules change, and this is later allowed to be submitted for the contest, please let me know! Thanks! I apologize for just posting my MOC pages. For some reason I cannot upload my pics. Says I have exceeded my disk space. My photos are only 50-70 kb, so I know this cannot be the case. If anyone has some suggestions or recommendations, let me know. However, pics can be founf on my MOC pages. http://mocpages.com/moc.php/396276

I would use custom parts if they were cheaper, but, as already mentioned on this post, only for non-functional parts. For functional parts, I would continue to use LEGO parts. This may be a business venture for someone. We often throw around the example of the 19L flex axles, which I think is a fair one. Truth is, we would all like to continue using only LEGO parts, but..... they are so rare and expensive, we are almost forced to arrive at different solutions (because we certainly will not stop building!). If someone were to creat such custom parts, I would sign up.

RC Batpod
nerdsforprez replied to Sariel's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
No problem. Just wanted to bring it to your attention. I don't think many are interested in a "serious" Sariel. We would miss out on too many cool Lego models and hamster hilarity........ -

Sariel, I love your stuff. I have bought your new book, have your old one, and love your creations. You are gaining popularity worldwide. Due to this, I would be just a little careful about how you cast yourself. Others are reading this, that are, *gasp*, Americans and may find this a little tasteless. You don't want to offend your fans. That said, once again, thanks for sharing your stuff. Too much fun. I can't wait for your next project and for your new book to come out. -
I plan on buying 42028. I swear that TLG every once and a while puts out a set not necessarily for the sets value, but its part value. I think this one of those times. This set, at only 50$ and I think aroung 600 parts (too laxy to look up) is truly a bargain. Especially b/c it comes with many track elements

[MOC] Aircraft Tug
nerdsforprez replied to filsawgood's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Original. Very nice. I would like TLG to start thinking this way. Not necessarily regarding your exact project, but just thinking outside the box in terms of new models. It seems like evrey year we get a lot of the same things.... front loaders, mobile cranes, etc.... but I want to see new things.. although I have to say 2015 is looking rather auspicious in terms of novelty.- 39 replies

Kudos to everyone collaborating on this project. I am just getting around to reading and looking @ all the photos. It is fun to see a project like this come to fruition, especially given that there are multiple people invovled in the project. Just quickly wanted to reply to one of the questions above. For what it is worth, the L motor power the LA to lift the boom on my model just fine. No problem. THerefore, I think that the L motor and LA shoud be able to lift the boom on this model just fine as well.

Ditto to everything that has been said Paul. Or at least all the positive stuff that says.... more or less... "don't worry about it". From what I have seen, all your posts are tasteful and completely appropriate. And in terms of the frequency..... you are completely fine. The one complainer is just that....... one.....

Hello All, I have been told that I should introduce myself. I am a relatively new member, joined last month, but was unaware of the new member page. Glad to be a part of the community. I am surprised no one has made mention, but I actually am not pleased with the back tires for the UCS Tumbler. The front tires are great but that back in the original tumbler the back tires are more balloon-type tires, and certainly have a lot of thread to them. To me it seems like large balloon tires would have been better. I know that the Unimog tires are the largest out there, but they created a whole new mold for the front, why not the back tires. It would have been cool if there were huge balloon tires with this set, larger than those say... on the 9396....or gasp.. should I say it.... bring back the Power Puller tires! Check it......

That is what I had to do with my model. I used regular LEGO string, but not the sting with studs. Regular Lego string worked just fine.

Dress my Exo Suit Mini-challenge - Discussion thread
nerdsforprez replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Hmm.... okay.... what is the original frame is intact, but added to? For example….. two more arms (shoulder with upper arms/bicep) added? Also, what if the liftarms used for the thighs (currently 3L thin) are extended to like 4L thin? Is this still acceptable? Please oh please allow it! -
Dress my Exo Suit Mini-challenge - Entry thread
nerdsforprez replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Where does one go to find the rules of the entries? I don't really see any. I have a suit that I am modifying but it is much bigger than the original suit. Can I still post it here? The frame is pretty much the same, but is very much larger. -
I have. I posted it earlier on this post... here it is again. Videos are embedded in my MOC pages. Specifically, of it trying to lift the 8070. http://mocpages.com/moc.php/383148 http://mocpages.com/moc.php/388884

So I finally have gotten around to documenting my modifications to the 8110. This is an insanely popular model, and it was tons of fun to play with. My modifications are much different than what has been done in the past. I took an inline 3 pneumatic engine and installed it in the Unimog. Check out my links to see the results! http://mocpages.com/moc.php/395645 Here is a pic of the my Unimog. I don't know why the video won't post. It has worked in the past. Sorry for the confusion... just follow the links above....

How does one get to post their MOC or LEGO news on the front page of the site? ALso, I am fairly new at all this MODing and MOCing LEGO models. I see that many people place their pictures of their models on different backgrounds. What software is used to be able to do this?
-
Yea... truly, the best thing to do is exaactly what you mentioned. The mechanical advantage on the pulleys is one thing, but regearing the motor would be a better thing to do at this point. I am on other projects right now... but I am sure that I will attempt it at some point in the future.
