  1. Anybody hear anything about them doing a minifigure blister pack for Pirates? They seem to do them for the rest of their in-house brands but I haven't seen any word of one yet. Might be a great way to build up some bluecoats.
  2. It looks more like flat gold with shiny gold trim to my eyes. Like gold cloth.
  3. Nice stuff man. Atlus is a pretty classy build.
  4. Milano is probably my favorite 2014 set. Great looking ship.
  5. Drove out to the Woodbridge LEGO Store today, got a nice haul.
  6. I'd like a theme incorporating forestmen and elves. This would take advantage of LEGO's inexplicable desire to constantly make tree sets wherever possible, and take it to the nth degree. War for the forest!
  7. I think it just times out if you take too long to check out. I usually just make a list of the part numbers I want, then go through and put them in my cart relatively quickly and it works every time.
  8. You need a middleman to order from Taobao outside of China, or did last I bought from there(got some JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Figures). It's fairly complicated, and shipping + fees would eat up a big chunk of your potential savings. Maybe not $82 but $50-60 wouldn't be that unlikely for something big. FWIW I used a site called Yoybuy.com, not plugging them, they might not be the best, but they were the easiest for me to use at the time. You plug in the taobao URL you want to order. You can just google the Chinese characters for LEGO (one of the variations is 乐高).
  9. Welp you've saved me some money, because I've been dying to get the Qui Gon Jinn that came with the 75058 MTT but didn't want to shell out for the set, or the excessive cost of the minifig on bricklink. I don't have an Infiltrator or a Darth Maul yet so this looks to be a good deal for me! Goes to show, if there's a main character you really want, just wait, there'll probably be a better version in a possibly cheaper set coming along sooner or later.
  10. Thanks for the review! Lots of nice baseplates in that set at least. Seems like the skimped a lot on some things, so many of the same faceprints on the bluecoats. Still, would've bought them if they'd had even the unprinted shaktos. I picked up 70410 and 70412 at TRU the other day. I'm enjoying them, but they definitely feel like the skeletons of a set, not a full set. Trying to bulk them up myself now.
  11. Bleeding Cool had some interesting pics up here: http://www.bleedingcool.com/2015/02/19/toy-fair-2015-lego-says-wasnt-meddling-kids/ Here are the two most interesting to me: So I guess we know how at least some of the reveals will be done. Anybody have pictures of the other reveals?
  12. It does seem odd they'd go to so much effort for a figure that's basically just a dummy in a window. It'd be a waste of budget to deco the back of the figure when basically no one was expecting them to do that. That said I am skeptical of a Futuron revival. I think they'd go full-on Classic Space ala the Exosuit. If it is a one-off it's a terribly mean tease. Especially since it won't match the other Futuron minifigs.
  13. I'd like one in Richmond, Virginia. There's two in DC which is a good two hours away(Richmond is already an hour away, but realistically it's the only city around here big enough for one).
  14. Hey Baby, could you post a picture of the Bluecoat's Queen? There's not a front-on picture of her that I've seen.
  15. I don't see that as particularly logical. AFOL tend to be the army builder collectors. LEGO doesn't seem to aiming at the AFOL market with their 2015 Pirates line, given that it recycles set ideas from the 2009 theme. This chess set is more particularly aimed at AFOL. It would make sense to put a bunch of army builders in a relatively expensive set that will be more appealing to that demographic. It's the exact reason why so many in this very thread were probably looking forward to this chess set. And if LEGO's aim is to direct army builders to their mass retail sets(most of which only contain one bluecoat, making it wildly expensive to army build that way) then why sell the minifigure elements on Bricks & Pieces?
  16. I think the brain is a printed minifig head.
  17. Pretty cheap that the soldiers don't seem to come with the shakos and that not all the pieces are minifigures. Sorely disappointed in how this turned out, honestly.
  18. Next season premiere won't be for seven months. That seems really unlikely given that it's the next Ideas set due and they just announced two more(Wall E and Dr Who) and they'll probably announce the next one around September as well. That'd be a heck of a backlog.
  19. Wow, these actually fulfill a few wants of mine. Love Arealight, definitely in for a bunch of these.
  20. Thank you for the photos! That Futuron torso is...interesting. It has a slightly different design to the classic Futuron torso design. I wonder if that is because it's supposed to be a replica? I feel it might fuel fruitless speculation of a Futuron revival though...
  21. I got Naida's Epic Adventure Ship when Amazon had them in stock last week, built it today. Very nice set, very solid build. The steering wheel on the ship has a mechanism that turns the sale sail round for steering. That's a bit too loose but should be an easy fix. Going to swap out some of the brighter colors and make it into a steampunk smuggler's ship. The smaller of the sails included with the LOTR Pirate Ship Ambush is almost exactly the same size as the sail included with the NEAS, but I had to modify the technic mast because the holes are aligned differently.
  22. A couple of Elves, probably all the smaller Pirates sets.
  23. If that includes GST then it's not that much more than the USD price, depending on the state when you factor in sales tax. Exchange rate makes $500 AUS to be $389 USD. US MSRP is $350 and in some states it might be an extra $35 for tax. I mean, it's still a stupidly expensive set but at least you're not getting charged *that* much more for being an Aussie.
  24. I ordered the Iron Man vs Ultron and one of the Elves sets. Guess I'll see next week if they do indeed ship out the Avengers stuff. Helicarrier listing's up at US Shop @ Home incidentally. http://shop.lego.com/en-US/The-SHIELD-Helicarrier-76042?fromListing=listing
