BrickCurve replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
Two days to go till the Williamstown expo in Melbourne and I am still waiting on a bricklink order from Belgium to finish off the water. Edit- the parts arrived with 3 hours to spare. -
I will be exhibiting at the seaworks expo in Williamstown, (http://www.insidethebrick.com/events-main) and Brickvention 2015.

For challenge C, can you do two 8 x 16 segments and then place them apart for forced perspective?

I am going to attempt to cover all the green as well, (I just ran out of blue plates). -

@Gideon, Sadly there are no official Lego stores in Australia so I'd be buying them of Bricklink unless I wait a few years for the rumored discovery centre in Melbourne to open, or wishing I knew someone in the same country as a Lego store that would send my the parts. -

Does anyone have any idea how many trans 1 x 1 round plates it would take to achieve a similar effect to this (https://www.flickr.c...-127022024@N08/) on my W.I.P. below. -
Great job on the bridge! I especially like how you went to the trouble of adding detail to the underside of the bridge. The towers in the centre is a nice touch too.

Nice moc, my only problem with it is the guard looks a little out of place in that uniform, you could changing the arms to a dark blue to make him look a bit less formal.
-
What an amazing amount of detail! UoP+ 1 for all claims.

I would like to claim UoP credits for minifig posing and extreme environments, Quicksand, (If this is extreme enough an environment for the credit). http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=101223- 343 replies

My first attempt at quicksand. One of the many travelers of Historica, Abdahl Darak nearly meets his death in a patch of quicksand near Barqa, but is saved by his son Tirander. I would like to claim UoP credits for minifig posing and extreme environments, Quicksand, (If this is extreme enough an environment for the credit).

UoP +1 for the countryside scene, but I agree with Kai and gedren for the roof rakes. I'd give you a credit for the grass roofing technique instead of on your other build (http://www.eurobrick...3). I also really like how you made the cross.
-
UoP +1 for the Life in Kaliphlin and City Scene, the grass roof looks more like a flat roof with vegetation growing on top, I would give you the roofing credit for your other build (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=101156) instead of the roof rakes

I would recommend going to a specialist photography store that will set you up with something within budget, I would also recommend investing in a tripod.

I see what you mean about the light grey 1 x 2 bricks and small plates although sadly I don't have nearly enough tan headlight bricks and 1 x 2 tiles or small plates to replace the grey bricks or other sections of the wall.
