Heroica RPG - Quest #138: Fade To Black
Lind Whisperer replied to Endgame's topic in The Heroica Archive
If that's a request for anyone to submit an action for Jinnipher: Jinnipher attacks Mermont Swordsman B from the Back Row. If Warlen rolled Spellblade Spin, she instead attacks the Fanatic, also from the Back Row. -

"K. If you get KO'd, I'll revive you shortly..."Father Steve targets Mermont Spearsman C from the back row with his Lighter Ethereal Deck, then gathers his weapons. -

"No problem. And I'm thinking it's Father Steve now."Lind first targets Vorpalis from the back row with his Lighter Ethereal Deck, and then regathers his weapons. -

"Oh yeah! That's how we do it! :head_back:" What was it Gabriel said about Assasins being useful? " Father Steve targets Mermont Spearsman C from the back row with his Lighter Ethereal Deck, then gathers his weapons. -

If Assassination and Sniping fails, Warlen targets Aeolus with a Darkness spell twice, If Assassination or Sniping was a success, Warlen targets the Mermont Mage. If the first spell KO's the Mage, he targets the Mermont Swordsman with a Darkness spell, if not, he targets the Mage a second time. -
Looks nice, K-Nut! Looking forward to seeing her in action. I like your parts selection - it both blends well, and makes her stand out as a clearly distinct character! I'm hovering between a Munchkin/Succubus half-breed or a Mindflayer with amnesia... Quick - someone has to draft a quest with Barfairyians, soon. Too funny to not.

Peeron's selection of Idea Books, I'm assuming. Here's something that might be a little more inspiring - try Book 697-1, pages 38-43. Also, beautiful builds! Any chance we might see some .lfxs someday?

If I might, might I suggest using a Zod helmet, like on the Firefly a few pictures up? I believe it'd work a good bit better. First off, don't knock Exo-force. It was a really great theme, with nice torsos. Second, what about these torsos? None match perfectly, but they all have the general air and design of the suit to them. (Apologies that they aren't hyperlinked, it's late and I'm tired. The original Thor torso. Pre Visla torso. Generic Death Watch torso. And this Vikings torso.

Speaking of which, we really need a Bashing Shield dropped.

"I'm not one to go against the Party Leader, at least not after...I'm trying to make it a rule, is the point. But you somewhat resigned that position when you surrendered to the enemy. Gabriel, if I can't assassinate him, target Aeoleus with everything you got until one of us kills him. You're under contract to Faust, not Skrall, and your first duty is to him(Faust). If Faust dies, you and I have no purpose to be here. Warlen, you might crowd control the Citizens with some Darkness, and Jinnipher, you might give that Fanatic a hard time." -
That...is a really good question. I suppose, since the KO'd party is acting as a group, they lose and fail the quest...I suppose... Let me do the math on something... Actually, you can survive the battle by just standing in the back row and healing yourself. 40/2 = 20 20-4=16 damage, and you have a healthy 42/42 health, so there's no way he can kill you with a Free Hit. The Sniper is Poisoned by 53, so he'll be dead in only 5 rounds.

OoC: Lind should be *Hastened*, *Lucky*, and have 1/6 Chance of Avoiding Free Hits(Cloak of Deception). Also, Jinnipher has 1 Fire Bomb, Karie has my Grand Potion, and I'm -1 Nostrum, and -1 Smelling Salts, and +2 Fire Bombs. "Aw, NO! You are not killing the guy I'm comprimising my intergrity for a paycheck from!"Father Steve first targets Aeolus from the back row with his Steel Knife. If Assasination is rolled, Father Steve then throws his Darker Ethereal Deck towards The Mermont Spearman A. If Assasination fails, Father Steve targets Aeolus a second time with his Darker Ethereal Deck. If Damage is rolled, Father Steve uses his second round to target Aeolus with his Steel Knife. EDIT: Looks good, except that Lind isn't wearing the Medal of Valor, as per the 3 artifact limit for 20-29s rule. -
Warlen does not pull any punches...

Great customs! It's nice to see what old digital friends look like in minifig form. It's one of those things where you had to have been there, had to have played it. It actually wasn't a flop, it was just poorly handled. In MMORPG terms, it was a smashing hit. Actually, besides Ninjago, the majority of LU celebrated products that were off the market. It was, in many ways, a tribute to the best themes LEGO's offered us. Read the forums. They do remember LU and CP, very, very well. But yes, TLM and CP don't mix very well. TLM is its own canon, CP is its own. Two different universes, two different products. Although a cameo fig of Clutch would have been nice, if just to finally have an official one.

And...it works just fine. That was strange. I remember seeing those back when I was just a lurker... Darn you, Endgame, for creating an impossible situation. Well done, Endgame, for creating an impossible situation...

Gotcha. Totally. I wanted to check, as I had a feeling that Lind commenting that he was fond of a strange concept called democracy might be slightly out of place.

"...Fine. You're the more experienced hero. But it better be a really good plan. Just saying." "Yes. I like that plan.Just so long as "get given our Letters of Rec." is between "stopping Vorpalis" and "deal with Faust". People who've been "dealt with" tend to leave rather nasty comments on their reviews." -
I tried to PM, but it said "The member K-Nut has chosen to not receive any new messages from you"?I was going to suggest Geodes as a reward item... Also, have there ever been any republics in Olegian history?

"...All I know is that the only ways all of this could end well, would require both sides being willing to talk this out peacefully and come to an agreement. And they won't, and aren't. And that I won't let a self-professed dictator begin his rule. Dictators only bring pain, never peace."Seeing that the Steel Knife had bounced off Vorpalis's chest unnoticed and not wanting to loose it, Father Steve subtly picked it up and returned it to his pocket. Father Steve pulled Warlen close beside him and shoved Jinnipher in front of the two of them, to hide their conversation. He whispered furiously. "Warlen, you have to cast Sleep on Aeolus, now. Jinnipher, here's a Fire Bomb - use it to distract Vorpalis somehow, while I'm getting Faust out of here, or else your king is going to die. Warlen, I'm going to get up on that stage. While I do so, cast Darkness around me, like we did earlier with the corpses. Only this time, cast it until I'm off of the stage. Karie, I'm going to need you on the other side of that stage, to support me when I jump off it with Faust. He's too heavy to carry alone. Or Gabriel. Someone. And if this isn't a good plan, then tell me a better one. Because I'm not seeing it." -
Darn it, I was sure Arthur had told Lind nearly the exact same thing in #103, but I can't find it.It's kind of frightening to see just how much Lind's viewpoint on the subject has changed around, though. He's grown hard. Also, my apologies for my out-of-the-blue door-stopping monologues in #103. I didn't realize just how long they were at the time.

"I actually had quite the respect for Master Lupine, at least until I met him. Upon which...I was sadly disappointed. I had expected to have the honor of facing a gentlemanly, dashing master rogue...and I found a quivering, cowardly little thing of a were-creature, that would sell out his honor for a few more miserable months of life. As for the star-lizards...sometimes a threat must be eliminated, before it can come into existed. It's bloody, dark, horrific work...but it prevents even more horror. Faust isn't a good person...but he isn't a devil. I made no contracts with a devil when I signed on. I signed on to retrieve a person's property. As for what happens after that...I am uncertain how to proceed." "The people have had their homes, their land razed. Vorpalis was in the right to confront Faust...but not to inflict pain upon those who didn't deserve it." "...That's not going to look well in my official recounting of Moone to the Library, no matter how many words I use..." "What he said. Lies aren't good. But functional is better than destruction. It's like with the Houses. They're corrupt, but they're less corrupt than if the Wolfgang took over.Faust is a lying traitor that stole a throne and made a comfortable world for his people. Vorpalis is a hero that was betrayed and took out his vengeance upon the country he formerly protected. Both of them are messed up. But Faust at least had a functional country." "And with that, you've sealed my decision." "I'm fighting you, Vorpalis. You may have been a hero in the past, you may have suffered terrible things...but you aren't a hero any longer.Tyrants and dictators are the worst sorts of people for a nation. I will not aid the creation of one through idly standing by." Father Steve sadly shook his head. "No, Jinnipher...Heroes are people that stand up for what they believe in. We do work that we're paid for. We're mercs. We're all mercs..." His voice trailed off as he remembered similar emotions that an respected brief acquaintance had expressed... -

"I got hired for a job. I like to keep my contracts. You won't always make friends, but people have to admit you always keep your word." That, and the pay's nice. Letters of Rec. are hard to come by. "Not to disparage your words, but I really don't think Vorpalis is the sort to really feel like having a heart-to-heart. He's too hel-set on revenge for that..."
