  1. I think I'd rather see Takanuva. THe problem with Takanuva, though, is that gold has become a little too commonplace.
  2. Why can't I hold all this hype?

  3. Wait, I just changed my mind. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/BionicleLegends/Bionicle-Database/2003/z-Combo/Rahskhi-Japan-Mag/imgp0327.jpg This is the best one.
  4. Man, I should've put "Favourite... except Kardas."
  5. Keetongu was a giant Rahi, and the last of his kind. I... uh... umm... ERROR
  6. I suppose, if the argument is that the chest cannon means they're robots... might all the characters be robots this time around?
  7. Can't believe that this hasn't been a major topic before. Heck, it might've been, it's just been buried under other things since then. Nevertheless, what is your favourite combiner? I'm not asking for the best one, because clearly, that is Gaardus! Don't deny it, he is a work of art. As for my favourite... Well, I rarely got enough sets from a wave to build a complete combiner. I certainly never acquired enough titans to do so (And if I did, I wouldn't have dismanted them to build it anyway. My titans only get dismanted when I cannibalize too many parts to repair them) So my favourite is actually Bohrok Kal Kaita Za. He was the first one I had all the components for, but even then, I could work out what went into him just from the picture of the completed model in the back of Tahnok Kal's instructions, so I built him before I even got the arms, with Gahlok and Lehvak replacing them. Once I did have him complete, he was just fun to play around with, and easy to return to his unmerged form. However... Lava Hawk is adorable. So, what's your favourite?
  8. The Bohrok were described as insect-like, following the idea that the line had taken so far- everything was basically a cybernetic equivalent of a real-world counterpart, and the Krana, the actual consciousness of them, were definitely not robots. Plus, I think part of the idea was that the Bohrok seemed alien and wrong. Out of place, so to speak. The Exo-Toa were, for all anyone knew, vehicles. Their sudden reveal to be functional without a pilot was a hint to the reveal that the Matoran came from a futuristic city, not the lush island. The Ussanui was a vehicle constructed from Rahkshi and Bohrok corpses, alluding to a lack of material and capability for that sort of construcion, as well as also being an excuse to sell Takanuva as a £15 boxed set as opposed to a £7 canister, because the Mata didn't need one to get into Mangaia, and Teridax didn't want to shut Takanuva out, and it was never used again, even when it had been helpful, so what was the flying battering-ram bike for again? The Vahki were after the series ditched the tribal feel. However, the attitude to the Defenders seems to be that they will just be faceless drones with no identity. As in, less lifelike than the Bohrok and Vahki. No uniqueness aside from basic body design. Less personality than a Battle Droid. And that does feel out of place.
  9. I dunno, the others seems pretty non-robotic, and maybe the Earth Defender's a crazy guy who put a canon in his chest? Iunno, it's like Nuparu but even crazier. I like this.
  10. I'd like to assume that the Defenders are Matoran, and the ones we're getting as sets are kinda equivalent to Jaller, Kongu, and Onepu- In charge of defending their homes and people while the Toa are absent.
  11. >Complains that the new Bionicle sets aren't Bionicle enough. >Pluralizes Bionicle with an S. In all seriousness, I like CCBS, the thing is that I've never felt really attached to HF, so I never really got more than one per wave. Of course, this means that my MOCing experience is limited to "Try and make a Breez model that looks great". With the return of BIonicle, I'll certainly be getting more of them, I'd like to get all the Toa, and thankfully I have a birthday a month before Christmas, and if I get all the games I'm looking at from those two (S,ash Wii U, Alpha Sapphire, Lego Batman III, Hyrule Warriors, Rise of the Dark Spark, etc), then I'll have plenty of money to spare.
  12. ANd now I can't unsee Kopaka as an ice-age paladin. He's the sort of guy where you can tell that, if Toa had hair, he'd have a huge badass beard.
  13. Could also refer to the original story of Terry striking Mata Nui down before it turned out to be a virus.
  14. Might be glow in the dark. And yeah, Lewa's totally getting possessed again.
  15. The Toa have feet big enough to crush them. And the strength required too.
  16. I very much like this information. Making a decent-looking Toa Metru build, or something similar, is much easier for me than a decent-looking 06-09-scale MOC. I like the idea, but the reason TLG chose to switch from the Matoran-focused stories of 01 to the Toa-focused stories of the later years because the Toa sold better than the small sets.Maybe if the Matoran/Protectors have powers this time around... but not otherwise.
  17. *LEGO Board Meeting* "We need new villains for the first wave of Bionicle!" "How about a legion of spiiiiders!" I kinda do hope that they go with the Puppeteer Parasite route again. Sure, we've seen it before with the Krana, but if we don't get that, then the villains are going to be seriously underwhelming for wave one. Having the ability to take over a few of the Toa woud mean that there were actually interesting fights to play out, and not just "Tahu steps on a bug" or "The Toa flail at the LOSS, who can barely fight back because he has no arms". I'm looking at the images again, and it seems like the Spiiiiiders don't have the same style of connection as the MoCr. Either they're supposed to cling on to the head of the victim with their legs, which I can see happning, but not working very well, or they'll use the standard +rod attachment, and the new heads will have two connection points (Well, three technically, but eh), kinda like a BA head. Hoping for the latter. As for the eyes on the stand, I can see a similarity between them and the LoSS, but there are some difference. The stand's eyes are more slanted and narrower, as well as being less rounded. There's also black space below the stand's eyes, whereas the LoSS' second pair are directly below the primary ones. As for whether Teridax should return or not, it depends on what our actual main villain is. If he's going to be Teridax in all but name, then make him Teridax and be done with it.
  18. If you want to relive Bionicle 1.0, then go read the stories and comics, play the MNOGs, and dig out your old sets. This Bionicle is a new story for a new generation of fans, not an attempt to please the same group who stopped buying sets and led to the line's cancellation. The presence of the original Toa (I'm not calling them the Mata, because they're neither the same in body, or in character. Similar, yes, but the same, no.) isn't a sign that they're going to pander to us in the old guard. It's a hook to get us interested, before they move on to new things. We've already got the original Bionicle story. We don't need it again. Seriously, a straight-up remake would be so dull. Here's the story of Mata Nui! He's a robot. This is his evil brother, Makuta! He's the leader of a bunch of viruses in armour, and he's going to win in the eighth year. Here are the legendary Toa, heroes who share a common goal! Now watch them squabble like children for most of their adventures. Here's Matoro! He's going to die. Remember all of this stuff? Great, have some sand! Most of the worthwhile characters from later years started out on Mata Nui anyway. With the villains, they were either dealt with in flashbacks or had very story-specific roles.
  19. I think magic carries a bit of a stigma because of these two little phrases: "A wizard did it!" "It's magic, we don't have to explain it!" It's gained a reputation as an easy way for writers to avoid giving their universe cohesion.
  20. Just saying, but there have been several crossovers. In fact, the latest TF game is a crossover between Aligned and the movies.
  21. That MOCup would give Onua the ability to shrug. Maxilos has a friend, I guess.
  22. Takanuva Stars was a good example too. Light elemental, with a blizzard in the background. Bara Magna had no ice regions, nor as any Glatorian been given ice powers.
  23. Yeah, Vezon coming back if other characters were left out would be a bit crap.
