Nice scene, but a little too clean. Perhaps a small crack in the plaster wall to mirror the outside from the previous post would be good, or some variation in the floor planks. The piece of furniture under the windows looks too shallow; it needs to be another stud deep, IMO. And with so much brown, perhaps something could have been a different color (dark brown table, for example). But there are some nice details, such as the rings for the drawer handles, the bottle and goblet, and the cluttered desk. It is a nicely put-together office scene.

Nice little build. Clean, but with some character. I like the more muted colors for the roof. -

An interesting approach to this category. Well done. And I love the Mandalorian vibe. You just needed to find a way to get a baby Yoda in there! -
Captain Cookie’s Pirate Training [Part 3]
Capt Wolf replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Another great topic. But if size doesn't matter, why do the pirates with the biggest cannon looks so happy? Great job of head choices for those minifigs. And for some reason I'm drawn to that simple but cleverly designed palm tree. Perfect design for the venue. -
Captain Cookie’s Pirate Training [Part 2]
Capt Wolf replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I was going to comment on the nice job on the logo in the first lesson post, but didn't, so I'm glad to see you have a whole lesson devoted to it! A very important lesson. The pirate logo is like great art … it is transcendent … it is truth. -

Welcome back! Carno traders A sistership build -
Gorgeous little fort! I love the angles, and using the separators as the roof is very cool part usage. Nice little details throughout, especially the waves in the water.

[ESL-FB] Captain Pellegrino gets a ship
Capt Wolf replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thank you. The door pillars and arch in front of the doors themselves is one piece. Not sure what set it comes from. Indeed! But as Guilder pointed out, he's simply acquired the plans, and does not profess any connection to the original ship. OOC, it was a fun way to throw an MOC'd ship out there for an NPC pirate for awhile, but now I get to claim it back.- 4 replies

Thank you! And I take it you mean good luck. Thanks. I've been trying to liven up the sistershipping builds a bit. And the coin pouch is from one of those customizers (Brick Forge maybe? I forget). Good point! And I even watched the fight! Thanks. I was scrambling to come up with as many appropriate items to put in the room as I could.

Captain Cookie’s Pirate Training [Part 1]
Capt Wolf replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Classic! I love it, especially the ship with too large a crew. I can't wait for the next lessons! -
Guilder waited outside one of his favorite taverns in Fuerte Unido, waiting for the arrival of the captain for his new ship. The barmaid asked him if he wanted anything, but he declined. He had business on his mind and was not in a drinking mood. Then he noticed his captain walking down the street toward him. "Ah, Captain Pellegrino! I'm glad you could make it," exclaimed Guilder. "But of course!" replied the captain. "You sent word that you have a new ship. Please tell me all about it." "You may recall the Aqua Fina, which won its class at the inaugural Pilots' Association Racing Cup in Alexport last year. Apparently it was appropriated by the pirate Bluebeard shortly after the contest. But now it has been sunk, and I have built a ship to the same plans. This sistership, La Sirena, is a class 3 vessel, armed and maneuverable. I leave it to you to assemble her crew. Be ready to sail this month." "I will get right on it, sir." "And I will send you your sailing orders shortly." ---------------------------------------- Just a quick build to sistership the Aqua Fina, briefly introduce a new character I hope to use in future stories, and have more fun with printed panels. All C&C welcome.

Yes, that works. Typically you have to wait at least 15 minutes between posts in the thread if no one else has replied in the interim. -
Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Capt Wolf replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
The sistershipping form asks for the URL of the sistership build, so I don't know if having the same URL for multiple builds would cause problems. I know it causes problems with the similar issue of trying to license multiple small properties in a single post. Just to be safe, I'd go with separate threads and not worry about spamming the forum. -
It had been more than two years since Willem Guilder thought about the ship Wolf. But after all this time he had decided to sistership it again. But if this time was going to turn out different, he was going to need to do something drastic. And so he found a gypsy's shop in Fuerte Unido. "Welcome to Madam Luna's," said the gypsy. "How may I help you?" "I'm told you remove curses," replied Guilder. "This can be done. I will need to hear about the curse. But first you must pay." Guilder pulled out a 40DB piece and handed it to her. "Excellent," exclaimed Madam Luna. "Now, sit down and tell me about the curse." "Thank you." Guilder sat down on the oddly upholstered stool and began the story. "Over three years ago I bought a ship at auction, the Wolf. It was a Mardierian privateer that had been captured. I had it refitted and put it to use the next month. Alas, it promptly sunk!" "Oh my, that is bad! But what can I do about a ship that has already sunk?" "That is only the beginning of the story. I decided to build a ship to the same plans as the ship that had sunk, and I named her Wolf II. That ship was subsequently captured by the Sea Rats. I endeavored to reacquire her, but before I could, another pirate had taken her from the Sea Rats. "That is unfortunate," noted Madam Luna. "But that's not all," continued Guilder. "The pirate sold her at auction, but I was outbid by a buyer from Oleon. Soon after, it was damaged in a storm, and a Corrish ship salvaged her and took her to port. There was some confusion as to her rightful owner for a bit, but eventually she was returned to Oleon." "My, it does seem that this ship has trouble staying with its owner!" exclaimed Madam Luna. But it is no longer your ship? What would you have me do?" "I have decided to build another ship to the original plans," explained Guilder, "but I don't want this new ship to suffer the same fate as its predecessors. Can you remove the curse that follows this ship plan so that my new sistership will not be cursed?" "Let me consult my mystic crystal," she said as she retrieved a crystal ball and placed it on the table. "I shall look into the past and the future ... hmm ... yes, there is much energy swirling about this ship. But you can avoid the curse!" "How?" "You must evoke the name Wolf in the name of the new ship WITHOUT actually using the word "wolf" in the name. This will break the curse." "Oh, thank you Madam Luna. This is excellent news. Thank you! I shall use a name from one of the ancient myths." And so Guilder left the gypsy's shop, satisfied that he could go ahead and commission his new ship, the Fenris Ranger. ------------------------------ A small build for the purpose of sistershipping the Wolf as the Fenris Ranger. Here's a view of the full build: All C&C welcome.

The sign-up deadline for the next Trade MRCA is March 10, midnight, anywhere in the world. ---------------- If you have a ship currently participating in an Adventure MRCA, you can not sign it up for this Trade MRCA. Individual ships can only participate in one or the other, not both simultaneously. To sign-up for the Trade MRCA, read the rules here and then sign-up via this form. For a ship to take part in the MRCA, it must be licensed. You can license your ship under the new ship rules via this form. If there are any issues (typo, wrong number of points or other issues) with this process, PM @Legostone. Note that the MRCA signup form still doesn’t have raids added yet, so if you’re interested in conducting a raid this turn, PM @Capt Wolf. If you’re just going to be trading, you can go ahead and fill out the forms normally. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Consult the following two maps for trade zone numbers before submitting any forms. First, the one you're all familiar with: IMPORTANT: Note that if you click on the above map to go to one you can zoom in on, there is an error on the linked map (zones 10 and 11 are mislabeled). Use the map visible above for proper zone labels. Second, the New Haven Sea now has several settlements -- Carno's Neustadt in zone 38, Eslandola's Chiquita in zone 36 and Interlagos in zone 41, and Corrington's Spudkirk in zone 43 and Proxyville in zone 49, as well secret Carno and Lotus settlements on the island of El Oleonda -- so this map is now open for the trade MRCA: But beware! Carno and the Lotus Kingdom are engaged in hostilities in the south. Dangers abound. Watch out for Lotus naval patrols! NOTE REGARDING CHALLENGE III, Cat. D: If you are participating in the t-MRCA part of Category D in Challenge III, The Battle for El Oleonda, make sure to send your privateer ship(s) through zones that you think would likely have Lotus or Carno ships. If the ships you want to use are currently too far away to reach the New Haven Sea by normal means, PM @Capt Wolf and you can move their starting point to facilitate getting into some action right away on the high seas for Cat D. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And here are the trade values as of October 18, 619 (trade values for NPC and Old World ports are as of February 14, 619, and the very new settlements haven't had their trade values updated yet). When filling out your MRCA form, please make sure you spell the ports exactly as they appear below. Wonderful build! I love how busy it is, and breaking it up into various close-up shots makes it feel bigger. Lots to like here, as others have already pointed out. Well done!

As one possibility, I guess you could sail under one flag in one MRCA and then the other flag in the next MRCA, but you'd still get only one entry in the Cat D-MRCA challenge category. That sounds about right, but note that if building for the Cat D-MOC entry, you wouldn't have to build a whole ship. There are plenty of examples of MOCs depicting sea battles that don't show entire ships. Also, note that micro builds are allowed in Cat D.
