If you click on it, the map will still come up.

That is being addressed. Account holders are being given the chance to rectify the situation before it impacts performance.

A well-done classic biergarten! And the kitchen definitely fits the Classic Pirates style of Punto Sur. Strong entry!

Settlement Name: Ceniza Bajo Ownership: Eslandola Location: second largest island of the Eileanne neh Luithhr archipeligo (aka Luther Islands) (New Haven Sea, Island #9) Mayor: TBD Size: Hamlet Who can own property in Ceniza Bajo: Anyone, from any faction. Who can freebuild in Ceniza Bajo: Anyone, from any faction. Fortifications: none. Troops: As of Oct. 13, 620, none. Please post a link to any free-builds that take place in Ceniza Bajo in this thread. Island/archipeligo nickname: The Volcano Geographical Features: A group of small islands, the largest of which is dominated by an enormous active volcano. Vegetation is sparse on the main island with no permanent source of freshwater available. The second largest island; however, contains a small freshwater lake and a large natural harbour that explorers have observed could easily be fortified to make a formidable anchorage. Aesthetics: The volcanic nature of the islands is reflected in the materials used to pave the streets and build the houses. The architecture displays a mixture of colonial style, wealth, but also solidity and practicality - because life in a trading town is not about displaying luxury, but about getting the work done, and living a good life. The settlement is new, and the houses show little to no signs of erosion. Ceniza Bajo is built on the ruins of an ancient native civilization, that once used to live where the Eslandolans have now settled. The remainders of the natives have been recycled and integrated into the town - that’s why quite a few gardens are home to a totem or some other random weird sculpture. Rumours: Geologists speculate that the volcanic nature of these islands probably contain significant mineral wealth, most likely with larger levels of iron, copper and mercury. Map to come. Properties: - Townhouse (medium residence) - Fruit merchant (small commerce) - Beach house (small residence) - Apple orchard (medium plantation) - Augustus's villa (medium residence) - Carrot farm (small plantation) - Tavern (small artisan)

[OKT-COR] Free Beer from the Seawolf Shipping Company
Capt Wolf replied to Brickwolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I see Punto Sur has added a stone quay. Very nice! Great use of the Captain Hook hat/hair piece. And now we know that there are mermaids in the waters around Punto Sur! -
[OKT] Punto Sur Street Theatre
Capt Wolf replied to Count Vroskri's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Theater is definitely Culture (which I will be happy to license, thank you). Very appropriate Oktoberfest activity. For the layout of the build, I like how the storefront is at an angle to the scene.- 6 replies

Kings Port Advertiser and Ship List (Vol. 5, Issue 4)
Capt Wolf replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I don't recall ever seeing Nipper in the data. @Bregir, what about you? -
Both. A retro build will look like it belongs in a set from 1989. A modern build will use advanced roof techniques rather than a red plate or red slopes, use brick-built walls rather than panels, show detail through building techniques rather than printing, show more complex structures rather than just a hinge plate for a crane. Most modern builds will likely be more of a hybrid. The existing trading post in Punto Sur is a good example. It qualifies as modern with 1x1 round bricks for the roof, an irregular base, and a robust crane and dock, but it also uses the printed wall panels from the classic sets. And this is really where I expect most entries to land: with some modern techniques or styles, but some reliance on parts from the classic sets. Basically, I want to see what people can do with what's available to them today (both in parts and building styles), but inspired by the sets from our younger days.

[COR-MCRA] The Brave Defenders of Stormhaven
Capt Wolf replied to Mesabi's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
My understanding is that it's ok to use a build to both address a MRCA issue (i.e., sistership a lost ship, or show a MRCA result, etc.) and serve as a licensable property, and this build (or collection of small builds) appears to do just that, so I'm ok with it serving as a fort repair build and being licensed as a small residence. To address Kwatchi's concern, it couldn't serve as two different licensable properties.- 18 replies

It's that time of year again: time for Oktoberfest! The annual BoBS Oktoberfest celebration features food and drink, contests of skill, games and amusements, traditional/historical costumes, food and drink (did we mention food and drink?), and more. But this year there’s a twist: It’s a Classic Pirate celebration as well! Normally the big Oktoberfest celebration takes place in Weelond, but this year things move east to the Eslandolan hamlet of Punto Sur on Maldria in the New Haven Sea. So far there is only a trading post at the settlement, so there’s a lot of room for growth. Rules: Entries for this year’s Oktoberfest should showcase a property built in the Classic Pirate aesthetic, either in traditional 1989 form or updated for 2020 style and techniques. Your entry should show an Oktoberfest activity in Punto Sur, with an emphasis on a growing colonial outpost. Show new residents taking part in the festivities while making a new life in the islands. Entries should represent licensable properties. In addition to posting your entry in the forum (ideally with a [OKT] tag in the title), please post a link to your build in this thread and in the Punto Sur settlement thread. Entries must be posted by October 31. Categories: Categories are for six property types: Artisan, Commerce, Factory, Residence, Education, and Culture. Identify what category you're entering when you post your entry. Entries will be judged on presentation, quality of build, story, fit with Punto Sur's architectural style (Classic Pirate, both retro and modern), and fit with the Oktoberfest/festival theme. The only size requirement is a 16x16 minimum. Prizes: The top entry in each category will win a free small property license, to be activated by microbuild, usable only in the New Haven Sea. An overall winner will have his license upgraded to a large property, and the overall runner-up will have his license upgraded to a medium property. Builders will also be reimbursed for licensing costs for any property licensed through the EGS, or Capt Wolf will purchase (at 3x the license cost) any property a builder does not wish to license.

The sign-up deadline for the next Trade MRCA is October 27, midnight, anywhere in the world. ---------------- To sign-up for the Trade MRCA, read the rules here and then sign-up via this form. For a ship to take part in the MRCA, it must be licensed. You can license your ship under the new ship rules via this form. If there are any issues (typo, wrong number of points or other issues) with this process, PM @Bregir. Note that the MRCA signup form still doesn’t have raids added yet, so if you’re interested in conducting a raid this turn, PM @Capt Wolf. If you’re just going to be trading, you can go ahead and fill out the forms normally. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IMPORTANT MAP ZONE INFORMATION: - Note that zone 34 connects to zone 36 - Explorers have confirmed that the open sea south of zone 35 is navigable. As such, zone 62 (unmarked on map) is available for travel in the MRCA. Zone 62 connects to zones 33, 35, 37, and 38. Cartographers are working to get the maps updated as soon as possible. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In addition to the information above, consult the following two maps for trade zone numbers before submitting any forms. First, the continental coast and the seas closest to northern Halos: IMPORTANT: Note that if you click on the above map to go to one you can zoom in on, there is an error on the linked map (zones 10 and 11 are mislabeled). Use the map visible above for proper zone labels. Second, here is the map for the New Haven Sea, which has a growing number of settlements: Note that Corrington's Proxyville (zone 49) has changed its name to Port Mordo, and that Eslandola has established a new settlement -- Punto Sur -- in zone 42 on the southwest coast of Maldria. Cartographers hope to have the map updated next month. Beware that the Lotus Kingdom is still engaged in hostilities with Carno and Corrington. Dangers abound in the waters around El Oleonda. Watch out for Lotus naval patrols! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And here are the trade values as of July 13, 620. (Trade values for NPC and Old World ports are as of February 14, 619, and haven't had their trade values updated yet). When filling out your MRCA form, please make sure you spell the ports exactly as they appear below. Settlement Faction Zone Trade Value Acropolis OL 24 40 Aden CAR 2 178 Alexport PRI 29 172 Arlinsport COR 6 685 Astrapi OL 23 395 Balmin NAM 2 175 Balondia COR 2 149 Bardo ESL 8 295 Baskers Island MAR 6 126 Bastion SR 18 475 Belson COR 4 897 Black Rock SR ??* 40 Breshaun OL 7 2225 Brickford Landing COR 39 15 Calisto MAR 25 78 Camp Isaac COR 35 80 Cecropia OL 22 55 Charlatan Bay SR 24 710 Chiquita ESL 36 10 Dortanix MAR 1 594 Dragonstone OL 20 65 Elizabethville COR 22 300 Eltina OL 7 480 Elysabethtown ESL 20 250 Fatu Hiva OL 35 485 Fortaleza Victoria ESL 32 5 Fort Arltrees OL 43 25 Freeport GAR 27 26 Fuerte Unido ESL 32 350 Granoleon OL 5 892 Hojaroja ESL 32 35 Hussar’s Isle COR 24 5 Interlagos ESL 41 55 Jameston COR 35 960 Kieg GAR 3 594 King’s Harbour COR 24 760 Kings Port TER 13 898 La Puebloto ESL 32 5 Lavalette OL 28 380 Leopaldis GAR 24 118 Londa MAR 2 594 Mehit ESL 32 5 Mesabi Landing COR 35 1275 Montario ESL 17 105 Mooreton Bay COR 24 440 Moray’s Den SR 21 50 Myzectlan COR 35 145 Neustadt CAR 38 ? These islands can also be chosen as destinations. They have no trade value, so you won't earn any DBs sailing to them, but they're better than sinking. If sailing to one of these islands, use the name listed here: Island Faction Marked on map as Zone Trade Value Fever Island --- 1 26 0 Island of Bats ALT 4 27 0 Bubbling Island NAM 6 30 0 Garden of Hades --- 9 31 0 Gunpowder Island --- 16 35 0 Stilt People Island --- 17 35 0 Glimmer Island CAR 20 35 0 Mud Beach SR 21 35 0 Screeching Isle --- 22 35 0 Also, the pirate hideout of Barracuda Bay in zone 27 can be visited by black flag ships of any faction and remain hidden in the subsequent KPA ship report. But this is for pirates only. Ships not flying the black visiting Barracuda Bay will likely be captured by Captain Roger Redbeard!

[COR - MRCA] Not dusk but dawn
Capt Wolf replied to Professor Thaum's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I love this build and story, but must concur with Ayrlego that COR needed to be consulted beforehand. That said, I'm glad that COR is accepting this as canon. The Sea Rats should PM me for some biographical background info for Bluebeard now that he has joined their ranks. Congrats to Bluebeard for finding a way to move beyond his NPC roots! -
Kings Port Advertiser and Ship List (Vol. 5, Issue 4)
Capt Wolf replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
That's a good question. @Bregir, @Ayrlego, @Professor Thaum, what do you think? Should we discuss this in the court?
