  1. Thanks! Micros are always fun projects. Thanks. The one on the left was an experiment with interesting dark orange pieces, and I like how it turned out. The one on the right is based on an actual building and it was fun to do something with some more interesting lines.
  2. With the establishment of a brick kiln and a lumber mill in the Eslandolan settlement of Interlagos, settlers have been able to build houses, and the growing population has made Interlagos a proper town. The core of residences has started to give the town a feeling of something more than a military outpost. With the incoming settlers have come chickens and goats. Here Mrs. Boer prepares to get some milk. And her husband shoos the chickens away from the cellar door. Next door, Mr. Cazador heads out to take his son hunting. Small game animals are plentiful in the light woods around the lakes. The streets are still nothing but worn paths with some loose stone scattered about. A sailor and a merchant walk by the new residences on their way down to the dock. Interlagos has already come a good distance from its beginning as a frontier fort. As more settlers come to the town, Eslandian officials hope it becomes a thriving port. ----- This MOC started as way to experiment with the roof on the tan building and grew from there. I'm trying to capture the early growth of a small settlement in these builds. All C&C welcome.
  3. The growing town of Interlagos on the island of Maldria has begun receiving regular shipments of supplies for the new settlers, and trade with the local natives has increased the interest of the trade companies in the settlement. As such, the town has built a wood retaining wall and a proper dock to make loading and offloading cargo much easier, and a collection of warehouses has cropped up along the newly built quay. A closer look at the micro warehouses: I finally got around to taking advantage of my micro prize from the El Oleonda challenge. To be licensed as a medium commerce property. All C&C welcome.

  8. It appears my inbox was full. That is now fixed. Thanks!
  9. KPA editors are fast at work as shipping reports come in from all over the Brick Seas. But beyond the mercantile numbers, if you have a personal sigfig storyline that is worthy of inclusion in this month's edition, please PM @Capt Wolf.
  10. … Ah, missed that. Thanks!
  11. However, it looks like we lost our custom BoBS banner.
  12. Generally, yes. If you look at the first map in the MRCA deadline thread, that has northern Old World coast and the Prio Seas on one map. The lower right corner of that map is repeated (at a different scale) in the upper left corner of the New Haven map in the MRCA thread. If you look at the area of overlap coverage of the maps on the maps page and then fiddle with the scales, you can see how they all relate. It's also a challenge to limit it to just the known world, as there are maps that exist that show more than what has been discovered! But Bregir hit the nail on the head: keeping it up to date is a trick, as is simply creating something at a scale that can be useful.
  13. The deadline for using the microbuild property license prizes from Challenge III, "The Battle for El Oleonda," has been extended from December 31 to January 31. So, if you haven't used yours yet, get to it!

  15. Another beauty from you. Loving that tree! That new leafy piece looks great!
  16. Welcome aboard! That is a good size for a class 2 ship. And FYI, its ok if your ship is a little bigger than the typical ship of a class, you just shouldn't build something too small for the class. Again, what you describe sounds good. Fraunces has pointed you in a good direction. Reading a few back issues of the KPA will give you some idea, as well as the other links he and Keymonous suggested. Treat this as any role-playing game. You can control your own actions, but not the actions of others. Your story can take your sigfig to the lands of other factions, but should only define your actions. Does that make sense? Again, welcome to BoBS!

    Boots?

You could replace the hips piece (the belt / leg divider) with a plain white piece if you prefer the boot style of the CMF 21 space policeman.
  18. Everyone did a wonderful job with the BoBS advent calendar! I wish I could have participated this year. I hope @Darnok will consider managing this again next year. @Ayrlego, great way to wrap things up! I love seeing collections of BoBS characters like that. Well done. I hope everyone had a merry Christmas!
  19. I think you need to get to 10 posts (I think that's the number) before you can initiate a PM.
  20. Welcome to BoBS! A good starting place is this thread: But if that is more than you're looking for, and you don't want to get involved in the economic side of the game (the EGS, Economic Game System), you can still use this forum as a way to tell piratey stories illustrated with pictures of your piratey builds. It looks like you've already found a faction that feels like "home" for what you want to do, so that's a great start. The next step would be to post a picture of your character in a small Lego build (MOC, aka My Own Creation) with some more story to go with it. The Oleon leaders (calling @Bodi) should invite you into their faction PM so you can get more support behind the scenes and coordinate with other Oleon players if you want. Again, welcome! I look forward to seeing the stories and builds you and your sons share with us.
  21. Great build, and really fits the Port Woodhouse style. I really like the gate at a 45 degree angle, and the cobblestone work around the fountain -- not to mention the fountain itself! I use loose 1x1 round trans-light blue plates in many of my water builds. Check out this fountain I did a year ago:
  22. My thought exactly! --- Great photography, and good story beginning!
