  1. Very nice 7 wide cab on a 6 wide chassis. It gives a great design.
  2. I understand your needs and your point of view. I just want to point that a big yard takes a lot of space. I dont have parcking track for all my trains. I prefer remove some trains from the track than build yard for all of them. :) Just my 2 cents. I only go one advise : listen to everyone but do what you want ! It's your track, your fun.
  3. This is a very simple layout (2m x 2m) witch gives a lot of inner space. Of course, it's really basic. Do you plan to max your track or keep it as small as possible ?
  4. Hello ! Pretty nice layout. If you fall in love with modular you will need much space. You can save some space by reducing track space from 8 to 4 studs on some parts of the layout (where there is no point). I do it on my layout. It's good for the look and it works fine. If you want to run more trains, trust me, you will need much more room. If you tell me how much space you got and all the track you have, I can design some layout for you. BlueBrick is nice to create layouts.
  5. Thank you stevecockrill. I will try first to cut a rail before a switch.
  6. Waouw ! Very nice one. She have no front light ? The sleek design of the true model is really well made. I would be pleased to see the same one form Lego. Will you go for Lego Ideas ?
  7. I have never see a so wonderful station. It's a big one with so many details. Just perfect !
  8. I found a page with intersting numbers for all Lego electric motor : http://www.philohome.com/motors/motorcomp.htm It can be usefull.
  9. Some have the Thalys color sheme. Most of them cant be made with current Lego due to lake of color for front wedge.
  10. I use PF trains so my question is about a mecanical point of view. Witch cutout is better for (low noise, better guidance) ? or
  11. Has anyone tried both ways to cut switch point ? I wonder if one way is better than the other one... The first one is much more simple. The second one need much more work, does it worth ?
  12. Thank you for pict ! I will rework my bridge and use some flex to solve my issue.
  13. Hello ust60, You can see my layout here : http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=97423&st=50#entry2070056 - Inner track : 1298 studs, 10.38 meter - Outer track : 1403 studs, 11.23 meter Sometimes, I run two trains on the external track (both in the same direction) and one on the inner track in the opposite direction.
  14. Yep, just have to wait it becomes available. It will give a great advantage to PF.
  15. +1 According to my use, I will add : -Easy to do reverse loop with PF -Several trains can run at different speed on the same track On the downside, PF is not tunnel friendly ! There are now way to stop a PF train like a 9v one by using some tracks witch can be isolated.
  16. OK, but you will perhaps have to had a straight between the platform and the curve. ICE need 3/4 of straight for clearance, red passenger may need less. I forget to tell it's a nice station.
  17. Great ! Your Lego Chip's Ice look much more nice than the original HO one. It's so realistic. When I look at your picture, I was not sure that it was a Lego build.
  18. Such a station have a big issue. A train like HE or ICE can't go a the left platform. They need nearly one straight track before the platform or the nose of the train will hit it.
  19. I was afraid of slipping as the beginning when the track was on the wooden floor. But on the plates, there is no slippage.
  20. Great, your links are very usefull ! Thanks a lot. SwissBrick's town is really beautiful. I have never seen a so lovely city before. It takes me some time to place the Bike Shop & Cafe side the Pet Shop. Maybe it will help someone else. Clic to see it fullsize (2000x1500).
  21. Thank you very much all for your help! deraven, your pict is just what I was looking for. Redimus, I agree. Modular have to be together for center town not mixed up with Creator house nor with Creator modular-like. lightningtiger, your are right. Those Creator modular like are the link between Creator house witch are very esay to build and the modular expert with a lot of advanced building tech. So, I skip buying the Bike Shop & Cafe. It's as low as 55 € form Amazon.de (lowest price) but the size is really too small. If I have to buy 3 or 4 of them to make a *full size* house, it's really not a great deal.
  22. Hey, I'am working on a Lego train and my layout is fine. It's now time to add houses and so on. I already have Creator house 4956 and 4886. They look fine and size looks good. I plan to buy modular to create a small city. I would like to know how modular will looks side Creator house. I also see some modular-like : 31026 Bike Shop & Cafe. I'am searching for pictures with Creator houses, modular and those modular-like. I would like to know if size match and if they can be mixed. Perhaps I don't use the good words to google for picts but I did not found such pictures. I found a picture form this topic but the viewing angle did not help to compare. PS : Sorry for my poor English. It doesn't help to search...
  23. I do some tweaks to get much inner space and use 4 studs spacing in the lower right area. Track infos : - 4 left crossing - 4 right crossing - 1 double crossing - 150 straight - 44 curve - 7 flex - Inner track : 1298 studs, 10.38 meter - Outer track : 1403 studs, 11.23 meter - 2 track for parcking any Lego train - 1 reverse loop - 2 72 studs platforms Some kind of overview, impossible to picture all track ! The passenger station and the area for the modular city. Cargo area with two park track, each for one train. The red station is used as loading platform and train servicing. Building up a new station. The two main plaforms are fine for ICE.
  24. I will have a look. It will perhaps solve my bridge issue.
  25. I started Lego train this year and now I have a nice layout with 210 rails. I use 7 flex but only because I need 7 1/4 track. There is no other way to have this lenght... Those flex are spreaded all over the layout and I use a plate to make them straight. According to me, flex track are ugly, unrealistic, noisy and can not be easy fixed on base plate. If you make some *zig zag* or some S curves on a slippery surface, they will not stay in place. Faster the train run on it, straighter the track will be. Last but not least, they cause much more friction than curves and slow the train. I have to buy about 10 box to have the straight tracks I really need and btw get a ridiculously large amount of unwanted flex. They are all in their bag... I found them useless except for kids or in some case for complex junction. I would be pleased with straight tracks box, curves box and flex box.
