Bricklink order to LDD
Bering replied to Bering's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
The format is totally different of the order list. You have to remove the pics, then the batch columns. Then it's less work to just type in the partnumbers in LDD, Too bad it's not the solution i wanted. Thanks for your help! -
Bricklink order to LDD
Bering replied to Bering's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Thanks for your reply. The problem is that i can't import the order list in LDD Manager. I choose "Generate LXF file" and then "Populate list with bricks from bricklink set". When i copy the order list, it just gives an error. Normally, when you import a set from bricklink, you choose the list without pictures, but i can't find that option in the order list. -
Is it possible to put (several) bricklink orders to LDD? I mean that it shows the parts in LDD? I have LDD Manager installed and know how to import a set to LDD, but not from an order. Hope you can help.

[MOC] Tower Crane
Bering replied to Cumulonimbus's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Any updates? Very curious about this project. -
Funny, the most entertaining part for me is building models. What i don't like is taking apart a model. ;-) I agree with you on the helicopter, looks like a very fun model. I don't think you should compare recent Technic sets to much older sets regarding price and parts. Do you remember the 8851 excavator? Only 347 parts (and 110 of them are tracks) and a flagship! I think the Volvo has a lot more to offer than that, and the price is right in my opinion.

I don't know where you live, but in the Netherlands it's available for 179 euro's in almost every toyshop.

42053 - Volvo EW160E
Bering replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This is the set i'm most excited about. Good functions, looks great and not too many parts. That means: a good price. The other sets are half baked in my opinion, except for the Porsche, which looks great. -

Claas Xerion 5000 TRAC has pendular suspension. For the non-believers: http:// -

Check "pendular" suspension. All three models have it. -

Even 8849, 8284, 8063 had suspension, as almost every tractor has. A bad miss on the Claas in my opinion. -

The more pictures/video's i see, the more doubts i get. This was the 2016 set i was most excited about. Unfortunately: no engine, no suspension, the steering modes are great, but the wheels can only turn a bit. Far from realistic. They motorized the crane partly. And the most import part, the grabber, isn't motorized... Missed chances on important functions. Why didn't they skip the PF here? Then it could have been a cheaper set with more functions. -
Now that i've seen most of the functions of the sets, i have a different opinion. Now some critical notes. Yes, the sets are getting bigger and have more pieces. Is bigger better? In my opinion, no. Did the functions also grow with the models? Not at all. The Arocs for example, has lots of functionality cramped in a decent size. Engine, suspension, pneumatic, gears. Good price and good looks. The new sets are bigger, but most of them just have ordinary (lame) functions. The Claas... where's the engine? Suspension? Yes, the crane is partly motorized, but the grapper isn't motorized. That's the most important part of playability. The engine is lost due to the batterybox, which in my opinion operates functions, which could have been better operated manually. Compared to 8284, which had a nice price and good playability, a step back. Yes, the Claas looks somewhat better and has new tires. But overall, price, functions and playability a step back. The BWE.. it's big and has a lot of parts. I highly doubt the playability of this set. The tracks are moving, and yes, the bricks fall on the belt which transports them into a truck. Not very complex functions at all. The boom moves and it turns. I don't see the fun of it, but i'm happy for those who see it. ;-) For the Volvo, i like the looks, but i didn't see any pics/video's about functions. Mixed feeling about the direction Lego is going right now. I somewhat miss the old feeling of sets. If i compare these sets to 8043 for example, that's was just a piece of art. Pricewise, few parts, great playability and functions. These sets just can't compare to that level. Lego, better stay on track and don't get lost in looks and more pieces!

42055 - Bucket Wheel Excavator
Bering replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
And how about playabily. How easily does it pick up bricks? To me it seems you have to put the bricks in the buckets yourself. I think Lego went too far in this, just to get to a nearly 4000 bricks score. Just can't see the fun part of this model. I hope it attracts enough buyers. -
42054 - Claas Xerion 5000 Trac VC

Very excited about this set, looks very good. Too bad it has no (fake) engine. I hope the grabber on the crane isn't operated manually. Somebody has some info on it? -
Someone told us yesterday this model would be blue and yellow. I was hoping for that. This looks unfinished and like a moc. It's too ugly to sell in my opinion. But maybe the functions are exceptional. And they have to be, because of the extreme price level. I like the Volvo in the background, my new hope! ;-)

I'm mostly excited for the Claas, especially for looks and functionality. The car i like less. Done too many times in sets and to be honest, too less functions and technic for me, like the 42030. The BWE, i don't know yet. From pictures it looks terrible, but maybe in lego colors it looks great. Very worried about functions. I can't see the fun of a turning wheel going through some bricks and transport them through a belt into a truck. But maybe lego surprises me and convinces people. A bit disappointed that the volvo will likely have no PF. But maybe the looks will compensate. RC functions are always welcome. Many people don't own it yet. For them a big plus.

Theoretically it's a "wheelie" when fronttires don't touch the ground anymore. That's why they call it the wheeliebar, otherwise the car would loose control/flip over. I like the wheelie feature of this lego model, it's a bit too much, but otherwise it would be very difficult to make the car "stand".
