  1. What's really bad about the listing is "Toys & Hobbies > Buildng Toys > LEGO > Technics". That only furthers that damn blanket brand name of building toys we hate so much.
  2. I'm in the same boat. Since I got back into comics earlier in the year I haven't bought much LEGO. I've got a lot of catching up to do, especially with all the Summer releases hitting stores.
  3. That was funny. Another one that got me was
  4. All I can say is wow! Manning definitely shut up any nay sayers and speculation of another 2012. He came out swinging. Damn near 500 yards, 7 TDs-one of a few to do that- and Thomas with that 77 yard screen run. My Packers are up Sunday against the team that ruined their Super Bowl bid. Hopefully payback will be a b!tch.
  5. Well no, I bought it months ago myself...
  6. I had just about everything you can think of from the late 80's through most of the 90's. All the different Space factions, Castle, Town, Western, Adventurers, etc.
  7. According to Brickset I'm at 154,110.
  8. I wholeheartedly agree here. Work is important, but so is having a happy life. Speaking from experience, do not sell your LEGO, you will regret it.
  9. That's my kind of party! I love those LEGO heads.
  10. Just got the Fall catalogue and a LEGO movie poster sticker with this set for a limited time. I guess good things do come to those who wait.
  11. Ugh...they better not make Suoerheroes CMFs. Then I'd have to be rifling through packets again. I've given those up a few series ago, minus the occasional bag.
  12. Screw 'em, to be blunt. It's fine that people in your life don't like LEGO, although to me it means they don't understand. For months I had 10210 Imperial Flagship displayed and many people who came to visit couldn't believe that it was LEGO. My guess, especially with the older crowd, LEGO to them is just a lot of colored 2xXX bricks, nothing like it is today. In the end, if you like it and enjoy it, keep at it. The only thing you're hurting is your wallet.
  13. Easy:selling my childhood LEGO, mostly 90's stuff, some 80's. The different Castle & Space factions, Town, Western, Adventures...you name it I probably owned it.
  14. Aside from building new sets, I don't build anything. I've been a bit busy with LEGO than usual as I'm trying to get a nice, balanced City layout. I haven't bought as many sets this year as in past years. My reentry into comic books has taken a good chunk of LEGO money away.im sure I've still bought 20+/- of all sizes.
  15. Awesome. Always great to hear stories like this.
  16. Well, the LEGO variant covers will start popping up soon. Unfortunately the 2 stores I frequent most likely won't get them. One said the order would be too high for their store and the other said they could get some but can't hold them. I may luck out on some but will have to resort to eBay most likely to get them all.
  17. In Fantastic Four 11, Johnny steps on his nieces LEGO. He didn't refer to them as such, just 'building blocks'. Oh well.
  18. I don't understand all this anger towards TLG regarding Comic Con. Now, I've never been but I do know A LOT of companies have Con only exclusives. I know a lot of vendors have the items for sale, but I imagine TLG can't be the only company raffling exclusives. Sure I'm a bit upset to see Phoenix and Spider-Woman as exclusives, but I'm certainly not going to be angered by it.
  19. I would love some more variation in building height. Whenever I go to the downtown area in my city, I see a lot of different heights of buildings that would work very well in the modular line. It makes it a bit difficult to really sync up a good layout with Modulars and City buildings, because of the drastic height and depth differences.
  20. I'm very jealous of that space and those 2x2 dark grey tiles. I'm trying to stockpile those for sidewalks myself. Great layout, the original buildings are very impressive. As is the modded Modular buildings, 10182 & 10211 especially. I like that you extended them into straight buildings.
  21. Can't say I'm not surprised to see police. The other list of sets sound good. But a race car/monster truck so soon? Seems odd, seeing as those are out now, soon to be released. The recreational vehicles with certainly be a welcomed addition.
  22. I would buy that in a heartbeat! Would look perfect next to Modulars and give a fresh corner look to the line up. But, as with most of the sets we AFOLs want *cough* western modular *cough*, I'm not holding my breath. Here's to hoping!
  23. The sad part about the theft of minifgures, is that to a degree, it is our fault(our beng AFOLs in general). Sites like eBay where some go for a lot. People in it just for the dollars see this and get $$ in their eyes. It all boils down to greed and taking advantage of people. Specifically new to the hobby who don't realize the prices of what they should be.
  24. Saw 2 Guns. Great shoot 'em up action, good comedic moments, cool story.
  25. I do agree that it does stifle things, a bit. As mentioned, there is a set story and characters and things have been set 'into stone' if you will on what happens. Of course, kids could take that same set with the known characters and have an alternate ending. Like the Nazgul could end up killing Aragorn and the Hobbits try to escape. There is more openness to Kingdoms in how the story could play out and the roles of the characters.
