My friend this was funny! And yes you are right, on a dump truck you'll never find independent suspensions, only on "long distance" truck, but still quite rare nowadays. Anyway, as everybody is saying you'll need to reinforce (I would redesign everything from scratch) the chassis, the suspensions and add more power. when the truck is finished the weight will kill the XL motor, now is fine but later it won't be anymore. P.S. you said you want the glory, well you'll get the glory only if you succeed, regardless how big your project is! Sometime a well finished small model it's better than a big wonky unfinished model! good luck

[HELP] Dump Truck
TheItalianBrick replied to Lego2016Lego's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
definitely not, more likely to have only the rear axles to be driven. As most of the dump trucks...whether american or european ones. -
I've started working on it again, when will be completed I'll share all the photos and maybe the LDD file, not yet sorry.

the Porsche is not that badly engineered, by being more complicated than 8070 obviously there are more flaws! But trust me....you'll love the porsche once built! even if you put it on a shelf it simply does the job 10 times better than a 8070! go for it

ok I understand! Somehow makes sense...as far as everyone can have this option!

[TC10] Wheel Loader
TheItalianBrick replied to jorgeopesi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
well then why don't you cheat a bit? just use the big volvo bucket and make the width bigger, we will still vote for you!! I think one of the option is to use the new thin cylinders instead of the fatter ones...- 86 replies

[TC10] Wheel Loader
TheItalianBrick replied to jorgeopesi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think you need unimog tyres and 8043 bucket if you want to create something like the picture....I did try it myself as well with LETURNEAU...- 86 replies

the model should be something never seen/shown before. The chassis is clearly the Arocs 42043 with some mods?!

so I'll ask again, what about wrapping the pneumatic cylinders with a colored sticker? in order to change the color of them.,..
-
No worries.....will use a studless design then..... Other question: since the pneumatic cylinders are all yellow can I wrap them with a different color sticker? This will make them look grey or black or red or whatever....is this allowed? After all it's only a sticker around a lego part?!
-
wait a second.....those 2 examples at page 5 are controversial because Model Team is a studded design without functions (just features). I do want to use smooth bricks and slopes as a Model team but I'll have loads of pneumatic functions......something like this as example: this is pure technic...not model team style.....yet uses slopes and smooth bricks!

this is truly amazing now! all the funtions are smart designed! and there are many of them! can't wait for the video! Congrats!!!

ok, the idea is nice but I think having that "wide" boom on a side simply bends/leans the all crane. Also, if we talk about the lenght extension it doesn't seem there is a huge gain compared to other solutions. I made a 4 section boom within 5X5 studs for istance......each of your red bracket it's already a 3X2....so think about it! But i like the fact people like you come up with interesting ideas anyway! Stimulates other people as well to be curious about it!

Brickowl and bricklink are great market places! Also never happened to me to receive an opened parcel...so guess it has something to do with a nosey courier maybe? I live in UK, best shops for sets are: Smythstoys when the sales are on, Argos on the 3X2 and Tesco Direct sometimes! Also on Brickowl I recently sold my sealed 42009 for less than retail price....still made money out of it...so watch out for it!

Thanks for the answer Sariel! Is it possible to put yellow, black and grey rims on these new tyres? Just to see how they look like! Thanks again!

First time I feel Sariel is very happy about a set! It's a shame the hood and cabin are flimsy but we will forgive TLG for this, simply a wonderful set! Question: using the HOG is it heavier than the Unimog or not?

Accurate and great review as usual Sariel, enjoyed it and thanks for bringing it to us! My opinion now: bad proportions, ugly look, almost zero playability given the speed and complexity of gearbox (also who is going to actually play/dig stuff with it??) , ok on the +3900 parts...but one can still buy only the ones needed on Bricklink/BrickOwl.....so for me is a massive no! I don't see why TLG needed to make this set....

well don't forget that every year sets grow up in size and parts count!
