LEGO Store in Queens Center Mall here in NYC had DO and Ideas Birds set in stock, and purchased. :) My guess is the website will be sorted out if not today than tomorrow.

Are you sure it was on sale at some point? How do you know that? -

I placed 2 orders 10 minutes ago- did not get any email confirmation yet. Please let us know if the LEGO Store has it in stock. -
Did yours say it was being shipped now or in 30 days? Even less- I was checking every 20 minutes or so and it went from Coming Soon to Shipping in 30 days- I don't think they were ever in stock - I'd be shocked if any stores have them today. I ordered now because I bet it will ship sooner. And if for some reason it doesn't ship until February I'd lose out on the freebie that "goes well" with the DO.

Hello all, this is my improved Drive-Thru McDonalds that I have up on LEGO Ideas. Features - removable roof, booths for customers, counter flips up to allow worker to enter/leave, refrigerator, oven, stove in kitchen with clock, soda dispenser (or sink), sunroof, spinnable "Big M" on top. It has come to my attention for the USA (or non UK country) I have the drive-thru going the wrong way. Need to fix that. This works with modulars or stand along in a city layout. It is improved from my original concept which was a mini-McDonalds.

Who are they kidding? LEGO now lists the Town Hall which has been "Sold Out" for months as ON SALE! Of course it's still out of stock and will never be back in stock. Same thing for Grand Emporium and a couple other expensive but sold-out sets. Great way to save money- only do sales on sold-out items. If there is a LEGO store somewhere in the USA with an extra TH of GE an employee should buy it and throw it on eBay, they'll double their money or more in a couple days. -
"Coming soon." All the Jan 1 sets best I can tell.

I was just thinking the same thing. What is making me hesitant about ordering, even if it is available, is one time a few months ago I was about to place an order very early on the 1st of the month and I noticed that month's freebie wasn't added to my cart. I cancelled the order, came back a few hours later, and when I added what I was buying to the cart, the freebie then showed up.

I doubt LEGO prices per piece- it is likely weight is a more accurate reflection of price. No doubt LEGO can produce dozens of 1x1 flat grey tiles for the same cost as it costs to make a 6x10 plate. I'm sure some colors cost more than others too.

At first they looked so perfect I thought they were computer animation, but in Grand Emporium I saw the columns the doors attach to moving ever so slightly frame to frame. I can't even begin to figure out how you make these.

I usually can't afford to buy more than one modular but with the holidays and all I'll be in a position to get the DO and one more. I'm wondering if two DO's would make the most sense since it is in most need of being expanded. edit- forgot which thread I was in.
-
Make sure after you get the set and you follow the survey link at the end of the instruction booklet you let LEGO know you are unhappy with the size of this modular- I'd also prefer larger buildings and less interior detail if that is the trade off.
-
All I can say is I'll be ordering one online the first day it is available, if that is the 1st I'm not going to risk waiting until the 5th and there being a 4 week backorder.

Indeed. I suppose the fact a recent South Park episode was still fresh in the brain didn't help.

I misread AL'S CUT several times before I got it.

LEGO Ideas - The Simpsons Sailboat Picture MOC
BirdOPrey5 replied to BirdOPrey5's topic in LEGO Licensed
It's OK... I certainly roll my eyes at my fair share of entries on Ideas... I think- I wish there was *some* minimum quality factor that needs to be passed before things get put up sometimes. It's not like this was a long drawn out project, it was just something I woke up yesterday thinking about how I could print out a good quality copy of the sailboat and I had LDD open from earlier, and I thought it would be a nice change of pace. Not everyone's cup of tea. Also - technically 7 colors used, albeit only 6 visible.- 2 replies

I've always wanted a copy of the Sailboat painting that hangs behind the Simpsons family couch, but I can't paint or draw. So this is the next best thing. :) What do you think? If you want to support it the link is here: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/88400

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Is it? The set has 3 Market Streets, best I can tell they average $2000 or so a piece new sealed in box in eBay... so there is $6,000 there alone... Another $1,000 for Cafe Corner.... I would have set a reserve at $8k... You do think they would have bought a PR and just thrown it in to make it truly complete though. -

OMG that seller is only about 1 mile from my house... I may need to randomly ring door bells until I find them... (2km for the rest of you.) -

Honestly I wouldn't even consider 18 years old AFOLs... I think what is helping LEGO aren't 18 year olds who never stopped by the 30-somethings like myself who used LEGO in the 80's and early 90's and are coming back. 18 year olds just don't have the disposable income yet to be big LEGO buyers. -

PR was nice to mix it up but I do hope they return to the larger formats eventually. -
I much prefer the larger interiors of the MOC.

Is there an "easy" way of doing this or is it basically entering each part manually into a wanted list? Edit- Nevermind. I figured it out, thanks. :)
