I thought about that because of its similar shape, but those white plates are from the ISD.

I disassembled the model into sub assemblies for taking reference photos for making instructions and I found out that this model could be displayed as a cross-section version, it basically has all of the model except one of the side walls and tracks. I added the header/manifold assembly to the engine and I added tools to the exterior of the vehicle, all that is left is to fix the flaws I mentioned earlier or ones that I have yet to notice. I did some work on the engine block, it still needs the header/manifold assembly to go on top of it, that and the tools are all that really remains to build for this model. Finally Le Tigre has a Tail, I think it turned out pretty well. It has some slight problems with weight, it can hold in the upwards position but it can fall (it is required to be hinged because on the real vehicle this is where to access the port for the crank starter) Lego Renault FT-17 by Tommy Styrvoky, on Flickr Lego Renault FT-17 by Tommy Styrvoky, on Flickr the port for crank starting is visable now here are some flaws that I would like to fix before the model is complete (it's about 95% done right now) Lego Renault FT-17 by Tommy Styrvoky, on Flickr The angles are incorrect and the drivers viewport should be at least 3 studs wide Lego Renault FT-17 by Tommy Styrvoky, on Flickr The gap between the hatches.

Scaler tool updated
Tommy Styrvoky replied to Sariel's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This looks interesting, I will have to try using this latter today on a T-35 tank. -
yeah that and the engine is missing, it's to prevent the tank from flipping over when going over a trench.

if the printer doesn't work well then I could always airbrush the colors for the French insignia on a piece of paper.

Tiger XL tank
Tommy Styrvoky replied to Sariel's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I have a question about decals/markings, did you use waterside decals or paper that has been adhered to the vehicle ? Because I Might be making decals for my Ft-17, I won't be using waterside decals because they are a more perminate solution. -
If I do make decals for it it would probably be Le tigre and the French insignia .

Tiger XL tank
Tommy Styrvoky replied to Sariel's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This model does seem very Hall of fame worthy The V-12 is a impressive feat, even in my Tiger I that's approximately twice the footprint of yours could have fit a V-12 but it took up too much space for other components, so it mounted a V-8. There are so many functions that make this model the best RC tiger model built out of bricks, the proportions are nearly perfect in every respect and that you could pack 9 motors into it. I think that I have learned from my Tiger build that a fixed scale (1/15) for all of my models makes it difficult for proportioning parts (like the road wheels). So I have some inspiration from this model that "bigger=better" isn't always true and I will be using some of the characteristics of this model in a King Tiger model in the future. Im still wondering about the motors too? 2 L motors for drive 2 micro motors for MG elevation and traverse 3 M motors for turret traverse, gun elevation/ depression, engine, Where are the other 2 motors used, a separate one for the opening engine bay ? also after seeing this model, I'm really excited to see what you have planned for the T29 and the M1 Abrams -
I built the hatch covers for the rear engine deck, the rear turret doors were revised . all thats left to build is the engine and the tail that prevents the vehicle from flipping when crossing trenches.
