Bought myself 76026 Gorilla Grodd Goes Bananas from Amazon yesterday - and to my surprise it arrived today even though I used economy delivery! Also made a Bricklink order since I decided it was about time I bought some stuff for MOC's from my backlog of wanted lists - I found I had 5 MOC's waiting for me to BL! Next dilemma will have to be how on earth will I afford 210 tan bricks with grille so I can brick build that static caravan I made last July...

Jurassic World 2015 Rumors & Discussion
TheOneVeyronian replied to adotnamedstud's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yes, I was talking about those LEGO shops, and just those shops. The brick and mortar stores in the UK have had a habit recently of releasing many sets at least a week prior to their street date, so JW might or might not be released early there. Let us know if you manage to find them, especially if they're found on the shelf- 1,412 replies

Jurassic World 2015 Rumors & Discussion
TheOneVeyronian replied to adotnamedstud's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks for the answers. Sounds like you were both lucky to get them One part of me hopes that UK LEGO retail stores do what they did with summer Star Wars sets last year and put them out almost 4 weeks early, but another part of me hopes they stick to the street date - because I'm still trying (and failing) to save up money for them!- 1,412 replies

Jurassic World 2015 Rumors & Discussion
TheOneVeyronian replied to adotnamedstud's topic in LEGO Licensed
May I ask one question, Just2good and ChrisLikesDinos: where did you guys get the sets so early? I know that it's probably pointless for me (since I'm in the UK and you are in the US) but still, I'm curious Nice reviews by the way. Good to hear the T-Rex Tracker is a good set worth picking up. I'd provide comparison pics of the three T-Rexes (since I have both the Dino ones from 2012), but the problem is... I don't have the T-Rex Tracker yet But as I've said before, the colourings of the dark orange T-Rex from 2012 and the T-Rex in the T-Rex Tracker set are actually quite different- 1,412 replies

The only problem I see with just having masks is that they would have very limited play value outside the game, whereas a minifigure has plenty more real world play value. Unless the masks also came with a Protector-esque build of course. Don't know why, but I had some weird thought about "what if the trans-clear Hau was released in a Dimensions fun pack?" when somebody suggested that they would use masks instead of figs Yeah, I just don't see LEGO Bionicle in LEGO Dimensions happening unfortunately, as much as I'd love it to But maybe LEGO will surprise us? How would they scale the Bionicle figs for instance, if masks were used to represent them? I have a hard time imagining a Constraction model being represented at the size of a minifig whilst keeping true to the model. They're like mini-sets. You get at least one figure and one small buildable vehicle in all the expansion packs I believe

The Skylanders Power Portal (at least the original one) had a USB port so it could be plugged into the computer and then you could import the toys into their online Universe game (okay, it was a free-to-play MMG, not a console game (but they were related somewhat), but my point is that computers could probably support the toys-to-life gimmick). So what you said might or might not be the reason Dimensions doesn't have a PC version Besides, you can buy a Skylanders Trap Team starter pack for a tablet computer, at least in my country anyway (no idea if it's a cut-down version of it or a full version, I've never played it), so it would have been nice for LEGO Dimensions to release something similar to cater for those who don't have these mega-expensive consoles. I don't know, maybe we will see something like this considering that many TT Games eventually get released on iOS via the App Store...

If Dimensions ever had a Bionicle-themed pack, my guess is that the minifig (assuming a minifig would be done of course) would need new moulds, and I'm not completely convinced Dimensions would bring us any new moulds. Unless Gen 2 Bionicle revisits playsets. Also kind of unlikely. But honestly, I'd probably explode with joy if there was a Bionicle-themed pack in a subsequent wave with buildable Protector-sized model and it's toys-to-life stand. I'd buy that even though I will not be buying the game itself (too much commitment, and I don't have any of the consoles it's on). But eh, it's extremely unlikely. I should just expect a cameo of some sort. Now, if Dimensions had came out a year earlier... we might have possibly been seeing HF Invasion from Below themed packs. They would likely have been easier to do than Bionicle since it actually had minifigures of sorts...

Well... it was only a matter of time before LEGO jumped on the toys-to-life bandwagon which Skylanders started, and it does look really quite good. Shame that a. the most modern games console I have is a Wii, and it looks like only a Wii U version is being made, and b. I won't have any money to invest in something like this. I used to play the original Skylanders game (but only because my favourite video game character, Spyro the Dragon, was in it), but I gave up on it and sold most of it shortly after Giants came out. I wonder if it will also have an online game element, like Skylanders did? That could potentially draw customers who don't even have a console to buy the "fun packs". But I imagine the game will be more like Disney Infinity (I've never played that though so I don't know exactly how the gameplay works). Just guessing. I wonder if the demand for this will be as high as demand for Skylanders was just after the Christmas it was first launched... But I guess this is probably the final nail in the coffin for my hopes that I would see a LEGO Spyro one day...

June, according to BZPower's NYTF article. The same article states Series 6 is out in October, which feels really far away (seems that LEGO are spacing out the Mixel releases further, considering last year we had waves in March, June and September, hence why it feels that it's been a while).

Suppose I should clear something up - Penkid and Mandate are both right, I only quoted those two prices as they were the only ones that were relevant in my last post, comparing the impact adding an Airjitzu capsule to a set does to price and piece count and whether it would impact the piece count and/or price of the Temple, if at all. Nothing too complicated about that But the top of the temple spinning and unleashing a capsule is even better than my idea of an outbuilding - I'd love to see that, since given the size of an Airjitzu capsule, only a D2C size set would have the capacity to completely encase it in such a manner, without the entirety of the temple being dedicated to just that function (like how the Fire Dragon was stored in the Fire Temple, it was a great function but it did leave the interior with something left to be desired...).

I really don't know why, but my favourite Gen 1 set would have to be Takadox. He wasn't the first Bionicle I ever got, or even the first Barraki I got (I liked all the Barraki for the fact all their builds were different, a refreshing change from the repetitiveness of 2001-2006 canister sets), but from the moment I saw him in a LEGO Club magazine in 2007, I guess I kinda fell in love with his creepy insect-like looks, and he became somewhat like my sigfig for 6 or 7 years, until my current one came along that is. I know, I bought about 6 of him and even imported the McDonald's toy of him from America. I even made white and gunmetal versions of him Favourite Titan set is probably Karzahni, or one of the 2006 Titan sets (can't decide which one). Oh, I have too many favourites to be honest

Been on a bit of a pop-punk binge recently (Green Day and all that sort of stuff), so I've been listening to All Time Low - Future Hearts (full album, HMV exclusive bonus track edition), which came out today. And not pop-punk I know, but I've also been listening to The Prodigy's new album The Day is My Enemy
-
That is LEGO's generic response to any future set enquiries via email, even the ones we know to exist
-
I never said it wasn't My thoughts were that I was hoping it wasn't (since D2C's normally don't use play feature parts like the Airjitzu capsule generally?), but it probably will make an appearance nonetheless. But has anybody thought that the Airjitzu capsule might not actually be integrated into the build at all, but rather a standalone piece like in the Airjitzuu sets? Yes, unlikely, but that option could potentially be better regarding the Temple's aesthetics unless they can hide the whole function inside the temple in a very clever fashion (I'm imagining stuff like part of the temple, maybe a back room structure splitting in half when the Airjitzu ripcord is pulled and stuff like that. That would be cool... but fairly impossible I guess). Reading that made me imagine a giant UCS Ninjago spinner... that you could use like a normal spinner. Don't ask me why
-
The only thing that worries me is that the temple will integrate an Airjitzu spinner (like how the Ronin R.E.X does). It's a couple of big, expensive moulds and I worry that it might eat into the temple's overall piece count or maybe aesthetics (after all, the presence of the spinner on the R.E.X has resulted it in having a lower piece count and a higher price point than the Master Wu Dragon*). I do hope my fears are unfounded though and they either not include it at all, or integrate it in a clever and discreet way that also does not make it feel like you are getting a bad deal in terms of price per piece or overall size. Given that hardly any non-licensed, non-Creator, non-Technic sets have a price tag higher than £150 or whatever the US equivalent is, I guess that will likely be the temple's price And yes, until hearing of the name, I kept imagining the temple would be largely red, but now I'm not so sure... guess it's safe to say I can't wait for August! At least I think the other Ninjago sets come out in June in the UK so that should help tide me over... might even do a comparison pic comparing the two incarnations of Destiny's Bounty when I get the new one since I've got the 2012 one as well *Ronin R.E.X - 547 pieces @ $49.99; Master Wu Dragon 575 pieces @ $39.99.

Somehow I find it hard to believe that the temple will be Dark Blue, Black and Spring Yellowish Green, the same colour as the Morro dragon. I don't think I recall seeing any buildings with that colour scheme (mind you, we haven't seen the summer wave in the TV show so I could be completely wrong). I'm erring more towards the colour schemes used on the facades in the Summer sets for the Temple colour. Maybe there'll be a Ghost Army dragon in there. That said, if the Temple's main two colours were Dark Blue and Spring Yellowish Green, I wouldn't complain. An abundance of those colours used in basic and useful bricks (in enough quantity) would certainly garner interest from some AFOL's, especially since the latter has been an extremely rare colour until very recently. I have a hard time imagining that this Temple will have a price tag higher than, say, the Monster Fighters Haunted House. £150 for a ~2000 piece temple with around 10-12 figures (I imagine it should have more figs than the upcoming flagship set) doesn't sound unreasonable. I just hope they don't include too many vehicles, one small vehicle and a dragon would be enough in such a set, any more would affect the temple itself

I really like your bat (polybag concept? I do like all your concepts). Great use of the CHI Panthar upper head for the bat head. Shame the Dark Orange elements don't exist, or I would have gone and built this in a hurry (but then again... when has that stopped me?) I agree with Kalhiki, I wish this was a polybag set.

What you're describing doesn't sound normal. My CCBS bones only go like that when they have been used for quite some time, especially when they are load-bearing joints (those carrying considerable weight, like the legs, or a gun arm or something like that), and they usually only go loose when small cracks develop after frequent use. But even so, it's very rare, I've only had to replace 2 bones on my self-MOC in over 3 years due to this (and I use it a lot). The friction joint problem where the bones pop off due to too much friction is far more common for me (it's very annoying). I suggest you (and anyone else with similar defective bones in their 2015 sets) to contact LEGO Customer Service (preferably by phone) about the problems you're having since it sounds like you might have a defective set, and they might be able to help you. They might send you replacements of the defective bones, but you may have to send the defective ones to them so they can do quality testing themselves. CS should be able to advise you on this. It's not normal for the bones to lose friction like that in a set that's less than 6 months old. Hope this helps

Thanks. You're close, the background is faux leather, I bought far too much of it at my local craft store (I sometimes make clothes for action figures so I keep a stock of different fabrics) so I occassionally use what I haven't used yet as a background for photographing MOC's on

Honestly, Onua is totally worth it. So far he's the only Toa I have bought more than one of, and I haven't regretted it. The build is fun, he looks the part (as long as you don't mind liberal use of both gold and silver), and to top it off, he makes an excellent parts pack even at full price. I've been able to make use of almost all his parts in various MOC's. Pick one up if you have the chance

2015 Speed Champions Sets - Rumours and Discussion
TheOneVeyronian replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Town
Why didn't I think of that? I have sticker paper and a copy of Photoshop... all you need to make custom stickers For now you couldn't make it, true. Unless you were willing to go non-purist and paint it (not something I'd really do). Doesn't mean we won't see the piece in blue crop up in a future set though. Maybe if Speed Champions gets a second wave perhaps? A blue car would be perfect as it's my favourite colour -
Jurassic World 2015 Rumors & Discussion
TheOneVeyronian replied to adotnamedstud's topic in LEGO Licensed
The more I think about it, the more I think that LEGO just wanted to try and get some more use out of existing moulds rather than go to the expense of creating new ones. That is always going to be a cheaper option for them, so it might not necessarily be done simply out of "laziness". It's obvious they won't create an all-new mould just for one limited edition polybag. The Coelophysis mould always bugged me anyway. Yes, it does look like a Coelophysis, but it's not accurately scaled to a Coelophysis in relation to a minifigure, it should be half the size. My argument can basically be reversed when calling it a Gallimimus (reasonably sized, but looks nothing like it). But at the same time, I'll commend LEGO over the naming of the Raptors in their sets (both JW and Dino). Everywhere I've seen them referred to as Velociraptor, but LEGO themselves avoid calling their raptors this, rather leaving it open-ended and up to the user to decide what raptor it is to them. That's because LEGO's raptors are way too large to be considered Velociraptors. They are more Utahraptor or Megaraptor in size when compared to a minifigure. But I'm sure, to small kids (and maybe some adults too, I don't know), they'll be Velociraptors since those are the best known of the dromaeosaurs, and not everyone may have heard of the other raptors I mention (that's probably why LEGO just terms them as Raptors) But yeah... still doesn't excuse the fact they tried to pass the Coelophysis mould off as a Gallimimus... In case anybody is wondering why I put dinosaur names in italics, that's actually the correct scientific way to write them and I had to do it in reports for university, so it's drummed into me. Old habits die hard I suppose...- 1,412 replies

I wonder if stores in the UK will follow this? My local store, London Westfield, is quite small (understandable given that retail space in White City / Shepherd's Bush is pretty premium), however since they have the PaB cup vending place built into a bench behind the tills (instead of into the PaB wall itself), then I can't see PaM taking up space in the wall either, and the boxes for it will also be put on the bench (with the hanger part going through a pole of course). I think PaB bins in my local store should be relatively safe, given that they don't completely oust out the desirable bricks that my store gets rarely and rather replace some of the common bricks that nobody really gets. But in all honesty? I hope this doesn't come to the UK for a variety of reasons, all of which people have already gone over in this thread.

I know I need to get some black 2 axles (and 3M pins) for future MOC's, and somehow I forget to insert a pound's worth of each of them every single time I place a BL order Thankfully, the red (and blue) is only really visible from the back, so it's not a huge issue when this model is displayed on my shelf

Thanks very much. I just hope I didn't give anyone nightmares with this MOC I've had the basic torso design since 2012 (that's the one you see on The Marauder), it only recently did I give it an upgrade with more advanced techniques to bulk it out in the last month or so. I could cover the blue bits up with more T-pieces I suppose, but it'd probably look better if I just swapped them out for black. Only thing is, the blue pins on the foot are axle pins, and the black ones on average cost about 40-50 times what the blue ones cost on BL. That's just for used parts And I just noticed something with the pics: some of the parts do appear blurry, particularly the chains. Please blame the low shutter speed of my camera and the fact they move at the slightest breath of wind for that
