  1. Personally, I would have liked to have seen Gali use Medium Azure purely since CCBS parts already existed in that colour and just would have provided a bit of consistency between old and new. But I think the designers might have gone with Dark Azure as it's a closer colour to original blue, and I think the darker azure works better personally. But yes, it's a bit of an MOC'er's nightmare, since the two azures are so similar, they do clash pretty horribly (in my opinion anyway). Which is why I avoided the medium azure bones in my PoW modification. For those few that might be unsure of how the two colours look together, here's a quick comparison pic
  2. Surprised nobody has mentioned this yet, but it appears the Gallimimus polybag will appear in the UK after all, packaged with PS3, PS4, XBox One and XBox 360 versions of the game in a special edition only at GAME. Complete with a £5 markup I might just have to buy a PS3 or XBox 360 version at £34.99 (not as bad as it could be I suppose) and just sell the game, given I don't have any of the consoles to play it on. I'm just glad we are seeing the polybag in the UK
  3. I already said I was going to do some comparison pics of those? Never mind, you may as well post a picture with all 6 raptors in it, I'm interested to see what they all look like together as one group, ahead of me getting the Raptor Rampage (which is the one set in this line that I'm putting off until I can get a good discount. My friend has one and he says it's worth £35 at most, not £50). I agree, upon opening my raptors and comparing them to the 2012 ones, the eyes just look more, well, right on the new ones The old ones seem more cartoony in comparison. I don't have the newest T-Rex yet, but I do have both the older ones. I might be able to get the newest T-Rex in about a week, but there's no doubt others are going to beat me to it And I may as well ask: I wonder if anyone can do a single picture with ALL the dinosaurs from both the Jurassic World and Dino 2012 lines? That I'd definitely like to see.
  4. No, they've always been out of stock, but they are listed. It's strange though as all the Fire Harnesses from the Winter wave are available. And all I want really is the Fire Harnesses (and Fire Wings), not the full figure. But I'll probably end up ordering them through BL if I can't get them through LEGO. But I assume that the aforementioned production issues are probably to blame rather than LEGO making it difficult to make complete figures (Chima is nowhere near as popular as Ninjago). Any part stock they have is directed at sets, and they probably don't have enough to put for sale in their replacement parts warehouse. It's not just the new minifig parts, but it's all the new printed parts and recoloured parts also that are OOS. If I had an extra £120, I'd just buy the sets instead. But unfortunately, I don't
  5. After what must be the most nightmarish Saturday bank holiday rush through Westfield, I managed to grab the Dilophosaurus Ambush and Raptor Escape sets. Would anybody be interested in a comparison photo between the raptors in the Raptor Escape set and the 2 raptors from the 2012 Dino line? Unfortunately, I couldn't bring myself to pay £50 for Raptor Rampage, so no comparison shots between all 6 Raptors LEGO have released... yet. The currently available raptors do look great as a foursome though, so thanks for the pictures I very nearly grabbed Pteranodon Capture also, but, well... other sets took priority, and I'm saving the Indominus Rex set for later in the month. There is only so much I can spend in one go
  6. I really like how the arms on these figures are built in the same configuration as 2015 Pohatu, as it really increases poseability. Seeing these high-res pictures has given me more appreciation for the printed detail on these minifigs, and Jango doesn't look as bad as he initially did. Though ultimately, any second copies bought by me will have most of printing magic erasered off since I like plain parts And Cody has 7M B beams like the ones on Vader too, nice to see the piece appear again, and in more than one set I wonder if Cody's visor is removable? It'd be really nice if it was, but judging by the pictures, it doesn't look like this is the case. Looks pretty "welded on" there
  7. Do you mean the next wave of sets? I *think* it's June for Europe, and August for the USA (that is definite), but the Europe bit is based partly on previous year's release patterns (last year, Europe got the second wave of Rebooted in June while the US got them in August, I'm sure of it) and partly on Toy Fair information I got from a friend of mine. Plus, Amazon.co.uk listings that have been appearing lend strong evidence to Europe getting them in June. If you meant something completely different, then sorry
  8. Sorry, what I meant was whether the US would get them in May or not. Never type when tired I guess Anyway, I checked Bricks and Pieces this morning to try and secure the remaining breastplates - sorry, I mean fire harnesses... but they were all out of stock. I assume that, given all the newly recoloured pieces in the sets are also OOS, that the warehouse just hasn't updated their stock as fast as BnP has added it to inventory. There's no way they could have been bought out already and I can't see them not stocking the new pieces. I'll check again in a few days. What's interesting though is that Saraw (from King Crominus' Rescue) appears to use the mummy-style head print which is present in the generic Saber Tooth warriors in the relevant tribe pack. Almost like they couldn't be bothered to make some new prints for him (though personally it doesn't bother me too much, it's a nice print).
  9. Turns out I was right about a May release in the UK for the last Chima sets, they're available to order now from S@H. No idea if the US will follow or not, but there's good indications these will see a wide release as intended Bladvic's Rumble Bear Mammoth's Frozen Stronghold King Crominus Rescue I'll probably purchase the Rumble Bear on Saturday, then head to Bricks and Pieces and get pieces and minifig parts from the other two sets when they should have their set inventories up. My Chima display board shall be complete, sans-reformed Fangar of course, by the end of the month
  10. The Jurassic World sets are available to order in the UK now via S@H. For some reason though, clicking the theme listing just returns you to the home page, so I've linked all 6 sets here Indominus Rex Breakout T-Rex Tracker Raptor Rampage Raptor Escape Dilophosaurus Ambush Pteranodon Capture
  11. Thanks guys for the positive feedback! Wish me luck for the Flickr contest this MOC is entered in - I think I'll need it
  12. Attempting a CCBS Cthulu build

  13. The Super Jumper poly is almost definitely not the June promo. I linked the UK May store calendar a few posts above, it clearly states the Super Jumper poly is 18th-31st May The question is now if we will get the Winter Soldier in June or not, particularly for those of us who couldn't afford the Helicarrier. I have a ton of purchases on the cards in June and I need a good promo polybag to soften the blow a little
  14. Yeah, I see the sets lasting on the shelves until 2016 at the earliest. Of course, there is the risk of an early EOL (which is why if I want a set, I try to get it as soon as possible), but that's thankfully rare. I have no doubt we'll see some sales on these sets one way or another. Oh, and if you want to keep tabs on set sales (well, online discounts anyway), may I suggest this very nifty feature on Brickset? (don't worry, other vendors will appear when they get updated by Brickset). It's found me a good deal on a few things in the past.
  15. Not sure if anybody has noticed this yet, but from the 18th to 31st May, the UK (and presumably Europe) will be seeing the Spider Man Super Jumper polybag as a GWP on purchases over £25 (30 Euros for Europe? Not sure, just guessing). It's in the UK May store calendar here. Of course, the US version of the promo has been known for a while, but only recently it's been indicated it'll be in Europe too so I guess this is news to some Good excuse for me to spread out some of my spending I guess.
  16. I wouldn't really consider the OverBorg Attack and Anacondrai Crusher as being a "rehash" of each other, mostly because one is a single tracked vehicle, the other is wheeled, but I get where you drew the comparison where they both have blades operated by dragging the vehicle across the floor, but that's about the only thing they have in common. But even then they're different, they're an integral part of the Crusher, but look like an afterthought in OverBorg Attack in my opinion But anyway, let's not argue about what is and isn't a "rehash", but as usual, I guess lack of news is to blame. Anyway... the book figure doesn't really interest me that much so I won't be buying, but hey, it's a million times better than what we got with the last minifig-in-book purely because it's a unique variation. I guess LEGO finally saw sense...
  17. My original plan was to pick them all up on release day, but now I just plan to pick up Dilophosaurus Ambush and Raptor Escape on Saturday, since there are a few other sets I want to pick up eating into my 1st half of May budget (some SW sets so I get the May 4th freebie mostly). Then I'll probably return to the LEGO Store on the 18th and pick up Indominus Rex Breakout, again to take advantage of the freebie that is on then. Raptor Rampage is definitely waiting until I can nab it for at least 25% off. The Pteranodon and T-Rex sets I'm not sure when I'll pull the trigger on yet. If only I didn't have to pay for so many other things in the coming month
  18. I'd be up for that, but somehow extremely unlikely. But I had a thought. Maybe we could get the Gallimimus poly as a S@H offer for spending £50? It's not entirely out of the question for Europe, given our S@H offers are a bit different. If we don't see the Winter Soldier promo here in June, I'd like to see the Gallimimus poly used as a promo here. I'd be totally up for a second wave. More Jurassic World, or even Jurassic Park, I wouldn't be fussed what we get as long as it means more opportunity for LEGO-ified dinosaurs. Maybe no more freakishly gigantic Velociraptors though, we just had 4 of those. Include a few herbivores and make use of those expensive Triceratops moulds. Maybe they can do an ACTUAL Gallimimus for us dinosaur pedants if they did a second wave, and LEGO can apologise for trying to pass off an oversized Coelophysis mould as a Gallimimus
  19. I probably know the answer to this, but is the UK going to be seeing the Gallimimus Trap polybag as a preorder bonus with the game at all? I'm aware that I think I read that UK copies were going to come with the Dr. Wu fig packaged with the game, but I wonder if we'll see the polybag? Maybe in places that have had some pre-order bonuses in the past, like Game for instance. If not, how much do you think the secondary prices will be? I'm hoping not more than about $20 or whatever converts to £15 these days, any more and it'll turn into a really expensive polybag for me with ridiculously high import and handling charges (£8 plus 20% of the value) I'd happily pre-order the game even though I don't have any of the consoles it's on just to avoid importing, provided if any place in the UK has the polybag as a bonus.
  20. Not 100% sure these are right (but given they're normally reliable with RRP's of pre-release items, I think they're right), but Amazon.co.uk lists Titan Mech Battle as £39.99 and Morro Dragon as £59.99. I'd take the Titan Mech Battle price with a pinch of salt, the price tag does sound too good to be true. There's no listing or information for Final Flight of Destiny's Bounty that I can find yet (which is odd, given the rest are up except the Chain Cycle and Jay Walker One, but I'm assuming those will be retailer exclusives), but given it's US RRP is $119.99, I'd guess it's no more than £89.99, just like Battle for Ninjago City, the Phoenix Fire Temple and other similar flagship action theme sets with the same US RRP. May as well link the rest individually, Blaster Bike is £17.99, Master Wu Dragon is £34.99, Ronin REX is £39.99. Airjitzu sets are £7.99 each, I can't be bothered to link all 7 but they're easily searchable from here. Ignore the descriptions in the links, I think it's placeholders until Amazon gets the official descriptions
  21. I picked up an additional 2 PoJ's today while shopping in Tesco, since it turned out that the particular store I was at, they had marked some of them 75% off, making them £2.50 each. I couldn't resist them at that price! I noticed the ones sold under the "assortment A" label were 75% off, but the ones sold under the "assortment B" label were only 20% off. Does anybody in the UK know which Protectors fall under assortment A and which under assortment B in Tesco? I know PoF and PoW come under assortment B, and PoJ came under assortment A, and I'm sure it's based on which ones are shipped together or something like that. I was wondering which of the other 3 Protectors fell into which category so I could see if I could find the same deal in other stores. YMMV of course
  22. I like the custom feminine style torso you've come up with here, and the feet are genius, great stuff. Nice custom gearbox also. The colour balance seems a little off in your photos (not the shots where you show us the structure though, they're fine) so it was hard to see some of the colours, but really that's just me being a little nitpicky since I can't really fault this build Nice to see a picture of an MOC with a rock backdrop though! Do you mind if I borrow some ideas from this for my own feminine characters? I've been trying to make feminine torsos for a couple of custom female CarBorg builds but I could never come up with anything that looked half decent (i.e. they all ended up looking like my male builds ). You got it pretty much spot on for me
  23. July at the very earliest, but August / September is most likely when we'll see info on next year's new sets crop up. I personally view the rumours as neither correct nor incorrect, because at this point in time, anything could be possible.
  24. Looks great! I like the slender torso build, gives the impression that he is both agile and muscular at the same time, which I like. Nice to see you reverse-engineered Skull Grinder's gearbox and used it on your pre-revamp Skull Grinder. The lower legs, while a nice design, are perhaps a tad too long compared to the upper legs and the rest of the model, and not really a big fan of the half-claw horns, I personally prefer horns pointing forward myself (but that's just me of course). I would be interested to see this with Skull Grinder's mask instead of a Skull Spider mask when the relevant set does come out, I think it would really complete it. Good stuff! Is it possible we could have some better / close-up shots of the torso build? I'm interested to see how it's all put together. EDIT: Fixed typo.
  25. I have both (funnily enough, the only two large SW sets I've ever bought!), so I guess I can offer an opinion. If you plan on getting both in the future, I'd get Ewok Village first since that came out in 2013 and it's at risk from sudden retirement (unless of course, it pulls a Death Star). Ewok Village is a very nice set for both play and display and there's plenty of stuff going on to keep you interested. The only bit I didn't like was the net which was permanently closed, but it's quite an easy modification, all you need is a 5 link chain and 2 21 link chains and you can make a working net trap. Also, if you like minifigures, Ewok Village is definitely the set for you. Slave I is more of a display piece and has some very interesting building techniques, so if you prefer building and displaying, Slave I is the way to go. The minifigures are simply extra goodness, especially the new Boba Fett. Plus, it has a lower price tag (at least in my country, I have no idea about pricing in yours) so it also has a better price per piece.
